After a day on the wall it was great to meet the legendary Les .We arrived early and sheltered from the rain until Les arrived in his restored TR6. He told us about the bus to Twice Brewed as well. We returned to a great meal and a good evening with drinks from Les's bar !! A great bloke and... More

The view of The Old Repeater Station below the crags and across the pasture was a welcome sight after a day of cragging. Legendary Les was friendly and welcoming and entertaining. Les and the other Hadrian's Wall walkers were good company.

We had a very warm welcome from Les on our Pennine Way journey. He is a wonderful host and provided a tasty supper and excellent breakfast. The lounge area is very comfortable with loads of books, games and a large TV - it was very pleasant just to collapse in front of it after a full day on Hadrian's Wall.... More

We stayed here while walking along Hadrian's wall. The host is a wonderful man who is used to walkers and is full of helpful information. Call ahead to set up dinner and you will be very happy. The common rooms are relaxing and full of interesting history books and maps. For walkers you do have to go down either a... More

We didn't have an evening meal but for those that wanted one Les was happy to cook even at short notice! Room was a double room with ensuite with lovely views out over the countryside. Wonderful two-night stay in very cozy room. The cooked breakfast was like the breakfasts of my childhood. Welcoming and very generous host -- Les -- who from first meeting seemed like an old friend, full of local knowledge and suggestions. I loved being way out in the country, so close to Hadrian's Wall. (But in easy reach by car to... More

Thank you Les for your lovely welcome, pulling out the stops to provide an evening meal at such short notice. The room was cosy, fresh and clean. You made 2 tired ladies smile again after a gruelling day's hike. Breakfast was a great, hot, start to the day. You are our little star!

We loved this place. Clean, comfortable, and great food. But the best part of it was Les and the other guests. He drew us into intelligent, interesting and amusing conversation, making it the most memorable night of our trip. We were sorry to leave in the morning!
