Arniston Lodge closed permanently on 4th April 2017 as advised by the new owner on 11th April 2017. Original owner (Erwin Brigl) refused to "roll over" the booking due to selling the Lodge. New owner (Jolo) advised Lodge was not sold as a "going concern" but outright to a private buyer who will not be operating it as a B&B....

The quaint village of Arniston is remote and inviting. Erwin Brigl moved there years back and hasn't looked back. He runs Arniston Lodge with a passion. The rooms are clean and fresh. Breakfasts are either continental or english, both are good. Erwin has a wealth of knowledge of the community and is dying to share this with his guests.

We spent one night in Arniston. This was enough (if not to much) as there is not much to do there (unless you are a keen bird watcher) and the choice of places to eat is limited to the nearby hotel. We liked our hosts at Arniston lodge but not the room which unfortunately is in a rather mediocre condition...

This was the first night of our road trip, and we were a little nervous. We needn't have worried as Erwin couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. The rooms were very clean, and the lodge is homely and interesting. Erwin has a wealth of local knowledge and advised us where to eat. We ended up in a fisherman's cottage which...

This cosy B&B is close to the beach (5 min walk), has a lovely view over the fishing village, and the rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast is wonderful, the staff are very friendly and hospitable, and we thoroughly enjoyed the two nights we stayed here.

The room We stayed in room number 5 which was opposite the pool downstairs. It was quite warm and dark. The first night when we showered the water came up to our ankles and did not drain. However, Erwin the owner fixed it immediately the next morning when we brought it to his attention and this did not happen again....

Lovely Lodge with a very friendly and informative owner. We enjoyed our stay. The Lodge is really clean and the breakfast good. It is a lovely place to stay for a night or two. But if it is luxury you are looking for dont stay here. The furniture is old but neat.

Close to the small fishing village , which is a must to explore. The big hotel is just around the corner, good for meals and drinks. Erwin the owner is knowledgable about what's around and what to do. Loved the honesty bar, good selection. Breakfast more than ample. To cold for us to swim, but a good sized pool.

This hotel is really horrible. And the owner was rather unfriendly and abrupt. The decor is really outdated. And the pictures on the Internet are nothing like how it really looks. The rooms are bery dark. And the Wifi doesn't work.

Great little guest house in Arniston. The owner Erwin is a lovely chap with heaps of knowledge of the local area (& most of Africa..) He is great to chat with. The rooms are perfectly adequate, everything works. A full breakfast is served and is cooked to order, whenever you want it. The pool area is lovely and a real...
