Arrived August 6th 2016 and the first thing I noticed was 6 mud covered mountain bikers standing near the entrance who obviously had a great day. Check in was smooth, room and overall common area was great. Huge kitchen with a large commercial style fridge, free pool and hostel guitar was an added bonus. (I played and tuned it for... More

I should have brought my mountain bike on this road trip to the island. This is an amazing little hostel. It is outside Courtenany/Comox. Great relaxation spot. Cool people! The hostel has an amazing kitchen, new BBQ. It has a fantastic feel to it.

The hostel itself is good and clean with a huge common area off the kitchen. The drawback of this massive room is the high ceilings combined with hardwood floors and not much to dampen the sound. This causes a lot of extra noise if people are stomping around and/or talking loudly (as the are tonight). Room #1 (Private room) is... More

I couldn't agree more with the other positive reviews, the hostel was clean, friendly, well-equipped and a lovely space. Incredible value for money. The beds in the dorm are large and really comfortable, and the bathrooms are the best I've ever come across in a hostel. It was bright, airy and had real charm and character - much like Cumberland... exceptionally clean, spacious hostel, quality linens and bedding with well equipped kitchen and living common areas. The staff were very friendly, and well informed of the area. The town has everything you need in walking distance. We will definitely be back again!

Super nice hostel. Clean bathrooms. Huge kitchen and common areas. Single, family, or multi person bunk rooms. Definitely the perfect base to bike Cumberland. Their staff was crazy friendly. The local trail system is huge and easily confusing for first timers. We used Island Mountain Rides for guides and Dodge City Cycles for sweet bikes. We've ridden around the world and... More

Truly one of the best hostels we've ever been to, and we've seen a lot of hostels in very different countries. The Riding Fool is awesome: clean rooms, clean bathrooms, clean and spacious kitchen, large common area with pool table and a wood stove! Very friendly and helpfull staff! Unbeatable prices!

A great hostel at a fair price! The rooms are clean and bright and the common areas are VERY spacious and welcoming. I was there during the week so there weren't too many guests, but I was told that they often book up completely on weekends - especially during the summer. Walls were a little thin so bring earplugs if... More

This hostel was only 400m from all the biking trails which was awesome! We stored our bikes in the storage locker and then rode straight to the trails every day. There is also a hose and bike rack outside to wash your bikes. The hostel staff were very friendly and chatty and gave us great tip on where to eat,... More

The common area is awesome. Had a great few days here hanging out with the long term residents. Great mountain bike rental shop right downstairs and a super cool clothing shop across the street The wifi was solid too which I found to be rare across the rest of the country! Only downside was that I had a room right... More
