The second night proper of our Speyside trip. The Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. The service is great and friendly and our choice of food, scallops followed by chicken breasts cooked with haggis in a whisky sauce was excellent. As for the whisky, SUPERB

We were booked in here by Contours while walking the Speyside Way and it was right on the trail. Our room was quite small with slightly tired decor and the ensuite was a bit mouldy as it did not have an outside window. We enjoyed a nice evening meal here and a very nice breakfast. The whisky bar was extremely... More

I found Billy and his staff to be very accommodating. In addition, the bar and restaurant downstairs were delightful. However, I had many problems with their showers and even found the spare roll of toilet paper appeared to contain feces stains on it. Between all of that and the fact that I couldn't crack my windows and the mattress was... More

Stayed here 5 days in may with a friend. It was great as starting point for exploring the nearby distilleries and nature. The staff is friendly and the bar is cosy - with more than 400 whiskies to choose from. Craigellachie is a very small town and even though the bus stop (only few busses a day) is just a... More

I have stayed at the Highlander twice. Both toimes becous of its good location in the middle of the malt whiskytrail along river spay or close to Dufftown. The hotel is in two parts. The mainhouse with regular hotelrooms, and the streethouse where I have not stayed. The rooms are typical british carpent almost in to the bathroom. The two... More

Close to the Malt Whisky trail and the Macallan Distillery this hotel is in a perfect location if you are planning to visit the Speyside distilleries. We were accommodated in an adjacent three bedroom house that had been recently remodeled. The rooms were very pleasant and two of the rooms had huge bathrooms. The hotel bar was cosy and had... The Highlander is a great base from which to visit the distilleries of Speyside. The proprietor, Tatsuya is passionate and knowledgable about whisky, as he should since he offers over 300 bottles in the bar. We stayed "across the street". Had entire house to ourselves. Enjoyed the privacy but not the chronically wet bathroom floor. Food was straightforward. Staff friendly... More

Over a long weekend in this beautiful part of Scotland, I had occasion to eat twice at this terrific pub which is full of character and characters.! The bar staff are very attentive and very knowledgeable...which they need to be in a bar which is jam packed with a vast range of whiskies. I had lovely meals on both the... More

We were accommodated in a newly refurbished room next door to the hotel, it was beautiful. Whisky bar was very well stocked and manager extremely knowledgeable. Evening meal and breakfast were good and I'd definitely recommend for a stopover on the Speyside Way.

Came in for dinner last Saturday with some friends. I cannot comment on the rooms as we where not staying in this Hotel but in the Craigallachie and thought we would pop over for dinner. The bar looks amazing, so many whiskeys and great drinks to choose from. The bar manager knew a lot and helped us with our questions... More
