As others have mentioned, the views of the surrounding plains and the hilltop monastery are amazing. The rooms are a bit cramped and dated, though. It's still nice, just not very modern or spacious. Maybe a suite would have been a better choice. My room had a balcony, but you can't see the monastery from it. The restaurant was good,...

We were told by locals that the property is owned by military associates, who enjoy privileges in terms of getting special permissions on building property in national park areas and reserve zones in Myanmar (chain of many hotels). In fact, the mountain Popa is a national park, where building hotel property is prohibited by law. However, it seems the rule...

I unfortunately stayed only two nights at Popa Mountain Resort and plan to come back this year. It is stunningly located on a hill opposite to Mount Popa. You arrive, are friendly greeted and checked-in and be brought to your room. I booked a mountain = mount Popa view room and was very happy when I stepped in. A large...

After a busy time in Bagan we came up here to relax and get away from it all for a while. The views up here are simply breathtaking, waking up to the mountain view and watching the sunset over dinner was just wonderful. The pool is in the most amazing setting and the staff are second to none, organising everything...

This is the ultimate spot for relaxing in a resort for 2/3 days after backpacking through Myanmar, felt like a vacation from a vacation. Views, pool and rooms really helped to relax and catch on sleep, it was so quite on the mountain! Unfortunately, the food was not really good... such a pity! Breakfast was ok, but food from the...

Some rooms with beautiful view of Mount Popa. The Resort is located on top of a hill - nothing close by. Room is ok - they charge 5$ for a tea bag! Food and service acceptable but not outstanding. WiFi only in the Reception area. Quite a few steep stairs - not an ideal place for people with walking problems

We booked Deluxe Taungkalat view room 701. When I stepped out onto the large veranda the view was spectacular - Mount Popa right opposite. We had lunch in the hotel restaurant which was good and the view again amazing. We were able to witness the sunset from our veranda what a fantastic atmosphere. Afterwards we sat out on the veranda...

We went there with my friend for our vacation. We spent one day at Bagan see all sunrise until sunset. The other day we travel to Mount POPA for one hour drive. You will reach to Mount POPA. After that we go to Popa mountain resort the other 20 minutes, the other place that you can see Mount Popa view....

This place was built 20 years ago, and opened by the General in charge of peace - which is commemorated in a plaque Seriously high prices - beer at $5 - but the food was excellent and the view for sunset was great. Wifi only in reception - and was pretty slow. Day trips come from Bagan and go back...

Positive first impression when we arrived, nice staff and a warm welcome. Our room was smaller than we thought and the bathroom rather 'budget', but all still fine considering the price for our stay. Quality of the food in the restaurant is good, price on the higher end. What's a pity though is that the resorts day-guests (mostly big bus...
