They had karaoke a couple of nights at the bar, and we stumbled upon a band that performed outside Mitra one evening but other than that not much is going on... dancers/ singers / performers after dinner in the evening ( there is a open area across from the bar that looks like just wasted space, and could be for a more useful purpose such as nightly performances, or music, or something to entertain guests) ...

Our family stayed in two Premium Jr. Suite adjoining rooms in Bungalow 29 for 4 nights/3 days... I recommend the upgrade to premium suites as this is a very large property and while there are golf carts to take you around, it's worth the extra money to be in proximity of everything...

The workout room is very nice and it is a large enough resort that you can walk for exercise and have plenty of area to go... The only reason I gave this resort a 4 instead of a 5 is because of our room...

They said they would compensate us the difference, but then changed their minds and gave us a “room credit” instead, and less than the value of what we paid... We just wanted what we paid for or money back if we stay in the cheaper room... This whole stay, we have not had enough towels in the room (one towel for two guests) or they take away all the hand towels and don’t replace them... The room is adequate, but nothing fancy...

The rooms were cleaned and nice, we barely spent anytime in the rooms, but they were well kept and very clean...

We arrived early straight from the airport (7:30am) after an overnight flight and I did let the hotel know beforehand in the hope a room could be ready sooner than 3pm... We hung out by the adult pool all day, our room was not ready until 4pm!... Most hotels in my experience normally make an effort to get you a room sooner...

...We visited nayara springs prior to coming to the Westin property and fully knew what we were getting into in terms of all inclusive but I would have reversed the order of our trip to stay at the Westin first so as to avoid any disappointment!... The golf course was FANTASTIC, but greens fees are NOT included in your all inclusive so with club rental, it’s about $500 for two 18 hole rounds... Probably won’t visit this resort again; may try JW or W next time to avoid all inclusive...

Westin Conchal wants to upcharge over $1000 for my family of 4 for a 7-night stay MERELY because I need a wheelchair-accessible room... In addition, my two teenage sons would be placed on the other side of the hotel, not anywhere near us...

...Rib eye steak were these thin pieces of over cooked meat... For supposedly the best all inclusive in Costa Rica (so we were told) it was definitely not even close to what we have experienced in Mexico... Don’t expect a beach view unless you go Royal treatment (along with the cost) and be prepared to be harassed for a massage every time you step out onto the public beach... Definitely a pass on this resort if ever doing another all inclusive in Costa Rica... Overpriced for the quality of meals, quality of accommodation and overall ambience of the place...

...Drinks were served in a cheap disposable 6 ounce cup... Not made with fresh local fruit... Food was ok, but not 5 or 4 star quality... Thankfully, we had not checked into our room and decided to stay elsewhere... Most disappointing was this is a Westin, but seemed like a cheap copy... They graciously refunded our money, so muchas gracias...

...Westin also mistakenly excluded our son on the reservation, and wanted to charge an extra $700 USD for him on arrival which we did not expect, even though they acknowledged it was their error... It was...average...poor value for money compared with other all-inclusives that we have stayed at (eg Sandals, Club Med)... After enjoying an excellent 5 days at another hotel near Arenal the Westin all inclusive seemed like a bloated, overpriced disappointment... We enjoyed our excursions and enjoyed Costa Rica, but would not return to the Westin again...

...People should be worried about the club situation though because we weren’t the only ones to deal with this while we were there and it was absolutely ridiculous... When I called the resort, they said that they could only put four people in a room, but that we could add an adjoining room for the extra child, we agreed and paid an extra $9k for another joining room because it's the only way we could get the club room... This was absolutely unacceptable so my wife went and talked to somebody and was basically told they were going to do us a favor by giving me a blue bracelet... which is absolutely absurd because we paid for the proper room... There should have at least been two bracelets for the two adults in the one room... I felt like this was absolutely ridiculous that they only gave ONE bracelet to a family of 5... Why on earth would only one person in our group get the club amenity bracelet when there would be at least four people who should’ve had blue bracelets?... It was a total waste of money that we had to spend so much money for a room that we didn't even need and then to hear that we couldn't even use the amenities we paid for without raising a ruckus just seemed like such a joke... I would not stay in the club level if you're expecting the amenities...

...The front desk agents were either completely incompetent or purposefully attempting to overcharge us. After a lengthy argument, I ultimately checked out with a significant credit balance on both of our rooms that we were not refunded or ultimately permitted to use at the resort... To make matters worse, the Resort made an unauthorized additional charge to my credit card on file with Marriott 5 days after we checked out... I’m not exactly sure to what the charge relates, maybe a Resort purchase that hadn’t posted?, but our unused credit balances were far in excess of this charge... Now I have to challenge the charge with AMEX as the Resort will not reverse it... Not what you would expect from a 5 star resort charging over $1000 per night...

I had seen several reviews mention Erick G in the blue shirt down at the beach and always like to find locals to help with bookings and excursions... I sent him a text before we arrived and he responded immediately... We ended up having a phone call before we even got to CR and had verbal commitments for a couple of tours... As soon as we got there we met up with him and he is so organized, so knowledgeable of everything CR, and very helpful deciding what tours best fit our needs... Do not hesitate to use him, he sends texts the night before each trip with tips on what to bring and who to look for and where to meet them... Lastly, the housekeeping staff was perfect... We ordered room service a few times and they were prompt and efficient and returned to clear dishes without being asked each time... ...This is our honeymoon and booked 2 weeks here it was through Tui. On arrival we were greeted very warmly and given a map of the resort which is very helpful... There are golf cart style vehicles to take you to where you want to go but we walked most of the time... You can also dial 0 in your room for free room service... Our stay was the standard all inclusive and didn’t pay extra for the adult only pool... I recommend the Pina Colada’s We went to Erik Garcia (blue shirt guy) on the entrance to the beach... We initially booked two trips and they were so good we booked 2 more... Highly recommend him, he will look after you and great prices... We booked a Tui package holiday it’s very normal to have a greeting meeting with aTui rep where they tell you about the area, tips, advice and excursions etc... The hotel staff will help in anyway they can and the local people are lovely and we learnt so much...

...We made friends with everyone who catered to us... We prebooked a private sail boat charter all inclusive: It was amazing as the coast line is breathtaking and we are not into crowded booze cruises... Andrei set us up with Ron who is probably the best guide we ever encountered...

...The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. There were always plenty of chairs at the pool and beach; we never felt crowded or like others were encroaching on us... Dinner at Bamboo and Faisinella were both delightful... We booked a tour of Rincon de la Vieja through Erik Garcia (on the beach) and highly recommend it... We had a private tour and our tour guide Fernando was so charismatic and knowledgeable...

Truly good experience: a bit crowded but we knew it would be in December, but still easy check in, comfy room by this I mean the bed as I am a difficult sleeper... Obviously we reserve the room much in advance and also makes PERFECT SENSE to reserve your activities and tours in advance as those companies also get booked up... This guy is the real deal when it comes to genuine care and professionalism... We booked a private boat with snorkel and a trip to Miravalles volcano to see and bathe in the best hot springs natural mineral thermal water... Westin we loved you Costa Rica we will agin be back and Andrei and Conchalfun team are friends for life...

Mitre Market was always a good option for the breakfast and lunch buffet... I was in touch with the concierge the week leading up to our trip, and even then it was hard to nail anything down... Once you arrive, they'll provide a phone number to make reservations... If you are looking to book excursions, make sure to find Erik Garcia on the beach... Erik was extremely helpful, and provided lots of recommendations... He will help you find the right trips or activities based on your interests and price point... Not only did he help book the excursions, but he kept in touch with us via text throughout the week to provide reminders about times, meetings, things to bring, etc...

We booked all of our excursions (airport transfers, scuba diving, ATVs, zip lines, jet skis, rainforest hike, etc.)... through Andrei at ConchalFun which I HIGHLY recommend... Super easy to communicate with and very organized... Everything went exactly as promised... One of the tour operators mentioned that he really likes working Andrei because he is so organized reconfirms everything to make sure there are no snafus...

On the beach you can get massages from the locals, ride horses, rent jet skis, etc... The spa had a great atmosphere, and the therapists were good...

We booked a beach horseback riding excursion through Marilyn (she wears a red shirt and is located on the beach right outside the Westin), which I highly recommend... She was easy to work with and matched us with just the right horse for each person in our family... We also booked two excursions through Erik Garcia (blue shirt), who is also located on the beach right outside the property...

We stayed in the royal beach club, the concierge, restaurant manager and waiters/waitress remembered our name, treated us as friends which made us felt really special... The restaurant booking experience could be improved a lot, it took long time for the restaurant to pick the phone and the let you know it was full... We were really glad to have stayed in the royal beach club where no reservation was required...

Kevin was a young man we met that was serving in the adults area as well as running the carts... He was very attentive, detail oriented and did not stop until everyone in the pool area was joyful and happy...

This resort is probably the best we have been to and a place I would go back to in a heartbeat! The service was amazing and the food was just as good as it can get... We requested our minibar to be stocked with baby juices and milk to have those handy at all times and that was really convenient... There is a store on the resort as well in case you run out of some of the necessities like diapers or sunscreen (a bit on the pricier side, but still convenient if something is needed)... A great variety of fresh fruit and juices was available either in the dining room or could be requested to be delivered to the room at any time... We were a little bit skeptical about booking an excursion in our situation, but Eric Garcia on the beach worked wonders... The moment he saw us, he knew what we needed to do and put together a customized all day tour perfect for our toddler and my pregnant self...

The people here are very ready to serve you and make sure your experience is perfection... My family and I enjoyed this resort as well as the people here 100%... The rooms were checked on and cleaned 2+ times per day defiantly felt like royalty... Even off the resort, all excursions we took we felt very safe and well taken care of...

Our rooms included an outdoor sitting area where we watched howler monkeys climb through the trees and observed all of the local birds and iguanas... It’s not always easy to impress 3 teenagers but ours all loved the hotel... We also enjoyed walking beach and surfing the waves...

...5 stars resort and we would give it more stars... We made friends with everyone who catered to us... WE LOVED our room right in front of the beach and just hopped over the fence to swim even at night... We prebooked a private sail boat charter all inclusive: It was amazing as the coast line is breathtaking and we are not into crowded booze cruises... Then we left the resort to explore and do zip line and hot springs...

Our first time in Costa Rica, and we were completely satisfied staying at the Westin... Friendly, professional, always making sure you had everything you needed... The grounds were beautiful and always clean... Family area and separate adult only area were just one of the perks... We visited the beach everyday where we found friendly local vendors selling souvenirs and massages...

Truly good experience: a bit crowded but we knew it would be in December, but still easy check in, comfy room by this I mean the bed as I am a difficult sleeper... Obviously we reserve the room much in advance and also makes PERFECT SENSE to reserve your activities and tours in advance as those companies also get booked up... We booked a private boat with snorkel and a trip to Miravalles volcano to see and bathe in the best hot springs natural mineral thermal water...

My fiancé and I stayed at the Westin to celebrate our recent engagement... The rooms and property were clean and well-maintained... Not spectacular, but as good as to be expected at an all-inclusive... Mitre Market was always a good option for the breakfast and lunch buffet... Erik was extremely helpful, and provided lots of recommendations... He will help you find the right trips or activities based on your interests and price point... Not only did he help book the excursions, but he kept in touch with us via text throughout the week to provide reminders about times, meetings, things to bring, etc...

...My wife and I and our 3 kids (age 19, 17, and 15) spent the week before Christmas at this property and it was fantastic. Beautiful grounds and wonderful service... We booked all of our excursions (airport transfers, scuba diving, ATVs, zip lines, jet skis, rainforest hike, etc.)... Super easy to communicate with and very organized...

...We keep coming back for these simple reasons: (1) fabulously managed and run by a truly customer-focused and friendly team, (2) Food is amazing, (3) Resort is just beautiful and peaceful, (4) lots of activities available (we like tennis, kayaking, swimming). During the Christmas and New Years week, this property really goes over the top with amazing staged events for adults and families like music and dance parties.. You can tell so much work is done preparing for these events many months in advance... This resort is a really great WESTIN resort...

...The room was spotless, comfortable and tastefully designed... The grounds were very well maintained and we saw more monkeys and iguanas within 50 feet than in our day trip to a waterfall/nature walk... The staff was always helpful, professional and sincerely happy looking... The pool is lovely and the beach, which is just steps away, is gorgeous... It worked out very well, we could pull over to a supermarket to buy sun block and in generally set our own timing... If you are looking for a vacation when you feel pampered with a beautiful beach just steps away, this place is for you...

My family of 13 stayed at the Westin for a week and found the services excellent, people friendly and rooms were clean . We enjoyed all of the amazing food at the restaurants as well as the buffet and the staff were so kind and house keeping was great 👍... I addition, there are free activities like kayaks and bicycles and other ones that you choose to pay for... Finally , The beach is public with vendors and souvenirs ... I found local sellers who offer amazing massages and tours very friendly... We did a waterfall/hot springs excursion, fishing excursion, catamaran sunset tour, along with horses on the beach... We will definitely comeback to the Westin and experience the sense of Pura Vida...

The resort was clean, the food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were plentiful (though not strong at all)... We made our reservations well in advance and requested a club room so we could take advantage of the club amenities... We were told that we would still have all of the club amenities because the twins were technically "free"... The girl at the pool called the manager, who told her the same thing... This was absolutely unacceptable so my wife went and talked to somebody and was basically told they were going to do us a favor by giving me a blue bracelet... which is absolutely absurd because we paid for the proper room... There should have at least been two bracelets for the two adults in the one room... Why on earth would only one person in our group get the club amenity bracelet when there would be at least four people who should’ve had blue bracelets?... It was a total waste of money that we had to spend so much money for a room that we didn't even need and then to hear that we couldn't even use the amenities we paid for without raising a ruckus just seemed like such a joke... I would not stay in the club level if you're expecting the amenities...

...Beautiful country and amazing experience at the Westin Reserva Conchal. This sprawling resort features abundant wildlife and native vegetation throughout for a true Costa Rican experience... The staff is amazing and the food sets a new standard for an all inclusive property... The resort is great for kids with plenty of activities for the family... The kids club has drop off care in a safe and engaging environment with games and crafts that the kids love...

...Pros: The main pool had a lot of room and tons of available chairs which was great... Very little information is provided about the property, restaurants, and how everything works... There are only 2 bars (Pool bar and Imperial bar, which opens at 5 pm) The beach was just okay The staff at the restaurants were great and super friendly, but some of the service was questionable... Little info provided at check-in, when we asked how to find hiking trails no one could answer, and when I asked the concierge to assist with booking transportation to our next location they seemed baffled by the request and eventually just hung up on me without ever following up again...

The Westin Reserva Conchal All-Inclusive Resort is a great choice if you have never been to Costa Rica. Located about an hour from the Liberia airport, it's a large property that is beautifully landscaped with the bungalows/villas dispersed throughout... It has a great beach, a very nice pool, and lots of activities... The staff are friendly and the food in the six restaurants is diverse, and good for an all-inclusive... The Marketplace doesn't require reservations and has 4 stations with different types of food; breakfast there in the morning was great... We did 2 tours-Rincon Ntl Park, where we hiked the volcano, swam in the waterfalls, did the hot springs and had lunch in a restaurant nearby; and we also did a sailboat excursion out of Flamingo Beach...
