The Kalithea Horizon Royal garners praise for its comprehensive amenities such as multiple pools and quality entertainment options, coupled with its stunning location offering breathtaking views. Guests appreciate the spacious, clean rooms with sea vistas, although there are occasional remarks about noise and the need for updates in decor. While the cleanliness and friendly service are highlights, some guests have called out inconsistencies in both service and maintenance. The hotel's atmosphere receives mixed reviews, with the liveliness appealing to some, yet others perceive a lack of modern charm. Additionally, concerns about the value proposition surface, with extra charges and service disparities based on wristband color contributing to the discontent.

After 7 years we decided to go back to Kalithea Horizon Royal on Rhodes, only to find it even more wonderful today than 7 years ago.
Besides the most incredible view, this hotel offers great rooms, beautiful swimming pools and nice surroundings.
The all-in formula is very extensive and the food is great, lots of choice and everything is very tasteful (and warm).
The dining room with the 270° view is spectacular.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, they really add to the holiday experience.
They have 3 pool bars and the Safari bar in the middle of the area, which all are great, have friendly staff and plenty of choice in drinks and snacks.
We normally do not like animation teams at the swimming pool and never participate but this hotel has, with Kitti and Panda, the best animation team I have ever experienced.
Their enthusiasm is so infectious that all the guests are waiting for them to appear so they can join the aqua gym and/or the water Zumba.
Both workouts are fun for all!
We stayed in the hotel during COVID-19 and we must say that they have done everything to make our holiday as safe as possible without losing any of the holiday feeling.
All door handles, railings etc.. were disinfected regularly, toilets cleaned multiple times a day, hand gel was available everywhere.
For breakfast, lunch and dinner, the same range was offered as outside the COVID period.
You only had to point out what you wanted and the staff scooped it onto your plate.

We want to thank all the staff at Kalithea Horizon Royal for a great holiday during this difficult time and recommend the hotel to everyone !!!!

Like many others this was a second choice holiday for us as our original holiday to Egypt was cancelled. I must say I am so glad we rebooked!! We had the most amazing holiday!
Arrived at Rhodes Airport to an expected Covid test which my husband had, no news was good news and we made the most of an autumn break.
I cannot say enough about the Hotel, room, cleanliness, grounds, food, the staff, the staff!
Our waiter was very attentive and looked for us every meal time, knew our drinks order and had it ready. He was chatty and really great, I just wish I got his name!
Maria and Johan at the safari bar were brilliant!
DJ Panda was great fun for the kids and was fun during all the quizes!
Anastasia was absolutely brilliant. Does that girl ever get a day off, we was there 10 days and saw her every day, all day but watching her you wouldn't know it. Was great with my youngest who was 8.
Everywhere, and every outdoor bathroom area was cleaned meticulously all day. Made you feel very safe. All the play equipment was regularly cleaned and there was hand sanitiser stations everywhere.
We was in room 932 with amazing sea views. Gorgeous, spacious rooms which was cleaned every day.
Food was always plentiful with lots of dishes to choose from, servers on every station to ensure no one was waiting around.
Very quiet, many days around the kids pool there was just us, this suited us. We loved how quiet it was. Went to faliraki beach which was a 10min taxi ride away for 12€ to enjoy the watersports. Also had a ride to Rhodes old Town Harbour to catch a day trip to Simi which was incredible but the boat ride made it a long day. (Nearly 4 hours round trip)
Would definitely go back to this hotel again.

So starting with the positives. I don't think I ever received service from bar staff as friendly and with such enthusiasm. The staff at the Mythos bar couldn't do enough for you. Same as the Kalithea Main Bar and Delfinia Bar. It was 5* service. On the subject of the Delfinia Bar, it's a must to try for lunch. They have an a la carte menu which is part of the AI package and the food there is the best you'll get within the hotel. It's only open 12-5 which is a shame but a must. The rooms were clean and tidy and beds were very comfortable. The food range at the main restaurants were very good and the selection varied day to day. Mythos bar had an decent range of snacks if you didn't feel like venturing to the main restaurants. Never had a issue getting a sunbed but can imagine during the summer it would probably be busier so might not be so easy.
The main negative points were in my opinion partly down the management of the situation we all find ourselves in, naming COVID19!! Firstly the main restaurant Poseidon had food stations scattered around the place and one staff responsible for serving food from a number of stations which mean times you were standing around at a station for ages before someone would come back round to you and serve you, I don't place any blame on the serving staff for this they did the best they could but felt there were better ways of managing the situation and certainly organizing the food stations. This didn't seem such an issue in the Thalassa restaurant so we went with that restaurant for the rest of the trip after a few failed trip to the Poseidon. The other negative point is around the gym. It was only open Mon-Sat and from 9-4, which had to be booked with a max of 3 people at anyone time. This meant when we asked to use the gym there was only one time for one person available for the entire period of our stay. At other hotels guest were able to use the gym 24hrs a day and were given a key to enter the gym to keep the user to a safe number. The room only had one power socket for use in the room by the bed, which considering the number of devices we all have nowadays was shocking poor.
Overall would I recommend this hotel, Yes, would I return to it, definitely.

I had to write this as an antidote to the other "perfect" reviews, the holiday is a blessing considering the current world wide situation but is no way perfect. Rhodes is stunning and the staff at this hotel work tirelessly to make sure you are safe and happy but it's not perfect, in fact quite average. The change facility at reception is currently not working so you need to bring euros or walk to nearest atm about 20 minutes away to get cash. Mini bar is refreshed every 3 days, this includes water. Our minibar included 1 x beer, 1x coke, 1 x lemonade and 2 x water to last three days, I know it's all inclusive but 1 beer for three days? And water, we have to remember to pick up water in the restaurant at every meal to make sure we have enough for 24 hrs. Staff, great but under resourced, buffet meals crazy, staff so busy they described it as a catastrophe, running out of cutlery and plates. Food is ok and they have one "a la carte" open which has about 10 tables and a minimal menu, far from a la carte. Towels aren't changed daily for the pool as they run out, no flannels in bathrooms, had to ask for replenishment of coffee etc in room. Big kudos to the staff who are endlessly cheerful and polite, let's hope they get a pay rise, come and enjoy but don't expect perfection.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Kalithea Horizon Royal in May this year. From the moment we arrived we received nothing but kindness and great service from all of the staff. The resort is quite wide spread, this was not a probably for us as we loved exploring the grounds. They have a regular shuttle bus service to and from the hotels private beach and main restaurant. The drivers would regularly stop to allow other walkers on if they needed the ride! Both restaurants are loved but we particularly enjoyed the cliff side location of terrace and mostly came here for dinner, the more central main restaurant we enjoyed for breakfasts. George who I believe was the restaurant and bar manager was especially amazing, from the first time we met him he made us feel very comfortable and was able to give excellent knowledge on the hotel and local area. He always had a smile on his face and never seemed too busy to help! The cleaners do a great job covering such a large area of rooms and maintaining to the standard they do. The food was lovely and we never had any complaints, always enough variety and plenty to go round. The entertainment was great, both live music and the shows put on we’re always very engaging! We absolutely loved our stay here and couldn’t fault it at all. Definitely recommend and may come back again next year!

There was 6 of us who stayed here and overall we enjoyed it.

When we arrived pretty late they quickly checked us in and provided us with a nice light plate of food before taking us to our rooms. We went in the mini bus as we were a large group with suitcases.

Now this is a really large complex resort, probably one of the biggest I have ever stayed in so it is a large spread and if you are fit and healthy then you will have no problem walking to the various bars and pools.

They do offer a gold buggy service which you can phone reception up at anytime for those who may struggle to walk.

The hotel rooms we stayed in were near the Mythos pool and was pretty centre to the whole resort. The rooms were clean and spacious for 2 people to share, we had housekeeping each day to make the beds and keeps rooms clean.

You had great snacks available at the Mythos pool bar and the staff was fantastic and really friendly. We enjoyed drinking in the Safari Bar at night and we took 1 night out of the resort to go to Faliraki.

Yes there is 2 different bands of inclusive, one for Germans and another for other nationalities. From what I hear that TUI Germany sell packages with more price on it to include this added feature of using the beech bar free of charge. Anyone can upgrade this option though but I don't think it was needed as we didn't go to the beech, we preferred the pools.

Overall a fantastic holiday and whilst Greece/Rhodes wasn't our first choice due to Covid, it was a pleasurable week to relax from this hectic year.

Just back after a week here, we arrived just myself and my daughter at lunchtime, to be met by a lovely lady Floriana, she let us have a map and explained where everything was and offered us a glass of prosecco, ice cold and much appreciated. Then ordered a golf buggy to take us and our cases to our room. This was the start to a love;y week with lots to do every day. We also got the bus into Rhodes which run every half hour and cost 2.40 each way, takes about 25-30 mins. There is also frequent buses the other way to Faliraki and Lindos on the other side of the road. Buffet meals were great, one snag, because of Covid, you cannot serve yourself, you must point to what you need and the staff will dish it up for you, this takes time obviously. At times it caused queues at busy times, but cannot be avoided. We found the Acropolis was not so busy as the Thalasso and the Delphina snack bar is just as good. Beach is very small and the trek back up quite hoy
so we kept to the pools of which you have three choices. Plenty of bars too which close at 11pm but music carries on for a while after. Please be aware you must download another PLF before your return to England or it causes at passport control we were unaware of this until we were on the bus back to the airport and it was a long process. But I cannot fault our treatment by the staff who were lovely.

I have been to the Kalithea Horizon a number of times, each time is better then the last!

Everyone is so friendly, polite and will do anything for you.

I felt safer at the hotel and in Rhodes then in England. The hotel staff are constantly cleaning with rooms sealed after guest departures ready for new guests, all touch points constantly cleaned. Masks and gloves worn by all guests at every meal time.

From Dimitris on reception, to the lovely Eleni the guest relations lady, to ileni at the pool bar who always remembers your previous orders, to the amazing waiters who always make me laugh - Fotis, Stavros and the true gentleman Apostolis. Christos makes the most amazing omelette and Pizza. Agapito makes the best cocktails - always ask for the bartenders special, you'll get a different one everytime and they're all amazing! Mr Savvas always greets you with a lovely smile. Panda and Anastasia gives so much life to the Hotel. I forget the name if the pancake man but he always took the time to make a conversation, a very lovely man.

This was the first year I visited the recently renovated beach and it was the best snorkeling i have ever done!

There is food to cater for every taste. I will be returning again soon!

Miss you all already

The waterpark in the hotel is suitable for all ages!

we arrived around 9pm at the hotel , was met by a lady who explained about the resort as best she could . we were given our armbands and told to go have a bite to eat or a drink , we opted for a drink , was table service which took a little time as the bar was very busy .we then got our cases and they put us on a golf buggy to take us to our room , (room 766 ) superior room with sea view ( questionable ) could just about see the sea lol . room was gorgeous very large and spotlessly clean. we were just around the corner from the mythos pool bar and a huge swimming pool which was extremely cold. the resort is huge , we went to the athena restaurant for our first breakfast but it was cold and inedible . we soon found the Thalassa restaurant which had much better quality food, lovely helpful staff too.there wasn`t entertainment as such , just 1 night we had 2 young ladies singing and 1 playing the violin , they were brilliant . A big shout out to the staff at the mythos bar Cleopatra and Poppy who served us all day everyday with a big smile on their faces....Poppy you make the best pino coladas we have ever had , you are a credit to the resort , i hope you will be there when we return in the future.

Hi, Yes they do have hair dryers affixed to the walls in the bathrooms. Not sure how strong they are as I don't have hair but my wife tends to take hers with her as its a stronger jet of air. Hope this helps. Tony
