My husband and I travelled for the first time to Rhodes in September this year, having chosen the Grecotel Lux ME Dama Dama a couple of weeks before departure. We are big fans of Cyprus and decided to try somewhere new and were not disappointed with Rhodes. We arrived at the hotel around 1.30pm and on arrival was asked to wait in the lobby bar with a cocktail while we were checked in. We had just made lunch (a good thing as we had been on the road since 2am that morning) and were shown straight to the buffet restaurant where there was still a great choice of food, even that late in the sitting. We then collected our luggage and were shown to our room - we had a poolside bungalow and I have to say I was delighted with the room which was very spacious with a huge wardrobe, walk in shower (good for me with mobility issues) and a two minute walk to both the pool area and the main restaurant. We then went to explore the grounds and were not disappointed - the pool area is spectacular with possibly the best sunbeds I have ever used, mattresses about 6 inches thick and VERY comfortable. There were some double beds which required a fee, but I did not see the point in those and noted that not many were used during the course of the holiday so I think they would be better taken down and the space used for more sunbeds. We did not struggle once in the week we were there to get a sunbed, and the pool was quite busy, but there were also lots of sunbeds on the grassy area between the pool and beach and again on the beach, which is pebbly…
Fantastic hotel with a very kind staff (especially the senior staff, Mr. Kotzadabanis always helpful and with a beautiful smile welcoming you), excellent food, and if you have night cravings there's always great self-service food waiting for you at the lobby, the grounds are so beautiful (it reminded me of Egyptian style), the drinks are not local spirits, we didn't have entertainment every night but it was excellent (on the balcony facing the sea and the moon).
Room stayed in first floor bungalow very clean bed comfortable one kingsize 1 single very good . The whole hotel kept very clean the staff excellent, polite friendly helpful. Sun beds by the pool the best I have ever been on like mattresses. The food well nice the first couple of days but after that everything was salty even in the a la cartes a big let down the deserts were brilliant but the main courses I gave up on . Such a shame the food let the place down but I cannot live on deserts alone and the yogurt was the best I have tasted at breakfast.
Just back from a wonderful week all inclusive at this hotel. The highlights for us include amazing yoga classes from Magdelini two or three times per day - high quality teaching and very friendly and welcoming. All staff were great and Nikos from the pool bar was great with my children. When my son hurt his toe playing football he carried him to get first aid- above and beyond! Also the food is excellent in the restaurants and buffet (get the app ahead of time and book the restaurants). All of the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful which really made the holiday extra special.

We spent 10 days at this all-inclusive hotel in October 2022. It has many good points. Firstly, it is truly all-inclusive as it includes the safe, speciality ice creams, pastries, sun beds, towels (no silly ticket system), mini fridge (stocked daily on request), not to mention the one o’clock bar. Secondly, the dining room is well laid out with a good outside dining area, the service and food quality are all good in addition to the overall ambience. Thirdly, all the staff are friendly, hardworking and helpful. Our room had a good view (get a pool room view!) and was a reasonable size and clean, if a little dated. The outside gardens are well laid out and lead down to the beach and the nice outside bar. The beach is a bit stony but ok for swimming (gets better a few hundred metres towards Faliraki). No issues with sunbeds. There are two good sized swimming pools with slides at the smaller one (it was a little warmer in the sea). The drinks quality is a bit variable and the service sometimes a little slow at peak times as they try to use waiter service where possible. Entertainment is limited and the evenings are quiet. There is a good bus service outside to Faliraki and Rhodos as well as other places further down the coast. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for families and older couples for a relaxing and quality break at reasonable prices. Main recommendation for the hotel is to have self-use tea and coffee machines at both bars as they cannot make a proper cup of tea!!…
We stayed at Grecotel Lux Me Dama Dama in October and we absolutely loved our holiday. For reference, we are a 39 and 44 yr old couple who enjoy chilling out. Trying to keep this review as to the point and easy to read as possible, the reasons we loved it: *A la carte - We wanted a hotel with a la carte restaurants, this hotel has 3 and you are able to visit each one once if you are staying a week (at no extra cost). We ate in each and they were all delicious. Each was unique, but you have a 3 course dinner in all of them, there is lots of food and the food and service are both fab. *Buffet - There is a great selection of hot, cold, savoury and sweet, you can also eat indoors or outdoors which is a great option. It rained when we were there and they went out of their way to ensure everyone could be accommodated inside. *Wine and alcohol - We love wine and they had a great range of different wine, lots of lovely Greek ones (we like trying as local as possible) but also high end wines from around the world. The staff are always happy to make recommendations and at both lunch and dinner you can get a bottle at no extra cost, not just a glass! Also, they have all the top branded spirits, plus really nice cocktails made the correct way (ie in a shaker, not just poured in the glass) which was a great bonus. *Pool - We are pool people as opposed to beach people, we never struggled to get a lounger. The main loungers round the pool have thick, comfy mattresses, there are plenty of them, plus there are then lots more loungers which you can put either round the pool or in the gardens. *Location - It was just a 15 minute drive from the airport, the same to Rhodes old Town, about 30-40 minutes to Lindos (both are worth a visit) and there were shops and bars/restaurants within walking distance. Naya bar is just along the road and is well worth a visit for a cocktail or 2. *Staff - What can we say, the service throughout was incredible and the staff definitely made our holiday: -Guests services and reception are fab, nothing is too much trouble, there is even a whatsapp you can use to contact them with requests. Also Christos was able to give us some recommendations for our trip to Rhodes Town which was great. -Restaurant and bar staff were all fantastic, even though they are busy they always make time for you and it's always service with a smile. Special mention to Panagiota and her lovely smile, and Vaggellis (the captain) who was a friend by the end of the holiday - he kept us smiling, his cocktail class was great and he is a credit to the hotel! -The entertainment team were great, so friendly and inviting but not overbearing. They try and involve you but are not pushy and are happy to just have a chat. We got on really well with Roxy and Sara especially, they are lovely ladies and again a real credit to the hotel. *Gluten free - I have coelic disease so can't eat gluten and have to be careful about cross contamination. Every time we ate at the buffet there was a chef I could ask to take me round to show what I could have. They can make gluten free pasta and pizza and you can request gluten free bread. All the a la cartes were able to cater for me and the staff were very good that if they did not know, or if they had limited English, they would always find someone to help. In addition to all the above some general notes; we had a lovely room with a great sea view (number 203), the free ice cream at the beach was a great bonus, aquagym is lots of fun, the beach although shingle and sand mix was beautiful, the hotel grounds are very well kept and the whole place is clean at all times. Tips/Words of advice... -Download the Grecotel app before you go. You can book the restaurants in advance and also send queries by whatsapp. -If you want to book cocktail masterclass or wine tasting do it well in advance (we tried to book one 2 days in advance and it was booked up) -Try and book organised trips if you want to see sights, taxis to Lindos were €60 each way and Rhodes Old Town were €25 each way On a final note, we would definitely visit again and are thinking of booking another Grecotel for next year! We really did enjoy our stay and would recommend it!…
On arrival at the hotel we were shown to the seating at the lobby bar balcony, with a panoramic view of the pool area, whilst being checked in and treated to a cold drink and some sweets, which were very welcoming after a long day travel. We’d booked a sea view superior room, but had been changed to a possibly a side sea view family suite which was bigger with a walk in shower. The view was not so good as we were expecting and the there was a noisy road nearby, but the room was bigger so we stayed. The rooms were very simple. There was a few extras like a mini bar with cokes, beers, water etc, toiletries, slippers. The buffet restaurant served fabulous food, there was always a choice of salads, Greek specialities, delicious desserts. We thoroughly enjoyed the food here. It was lovely that we could sit outside for all meals in a pretty area with ponds. The beach bar and snack bar was an area we used a lot. Near to the beach it was sheltered but outside too. They served lunch here, grilled chicken, pitta pockets, salads, desserts etc. The bar served quality cocktails which you could drink there or takeaway to the beach. The lobby bar in the main hotel also served the same quality drinks. The only issue we had was service was rather slow, maybe there wasn’t enough staff for the number of guests. There was 3 al la carte restaurants available. However I was unable to book via the app so I contacted the hotel and they said I could book at reception on arrival. On arrival I was told all the restaurants were fully for the whole week. We were very disappointed as this was one of the main reasons for booking this hotel. After a couple of trips to reception and the TUI rep we were given bookings at the Asiana and the Greek restaurant. I’m so glad I persevered as they food was amazing at both. One of the disappointing things about the hotel is the evening entertainment. I know it was end of season but the hotel seemed pretty full, but the entertainment was very lacking. A couple of nights there was live music on the lobby bar balcony which could only be seen by a few people but we could hear it from our seating. One night there wasn’t even any music being played at all. No magic show, no saxophonist, no shows in the theatre area- very disappointing. The service from the staff is amazing, they really do make the holiday special. The hotel itself is with in walking distance of Faliraki, about 30minutes walk. Outside the hotel is a bus stop which takes you to Rhodes, for only €5 return. There is also a shopping complex right next to the hotel with shops that sell souvenirs, holiday items, etc which is worth a wander. …
We booked the break just few week before our break, we booked a garden annex room and I emailed prior to request a walk in shower on arrival our room had been changed to the main building 2nd floor facing the road, it was double doors so no noise and I was so grateful to have a walk in shower as I struggle with showers over the bath, thank you. It was clean modern, comfortable, perfect. Well equipped mini bar restocked daily, slippers, dressing gown, toiletries, the TV only has new English channel not much else. I'll add pictures it was fab. The pool was cold, sun was hot always plenty if beds no matter what time of day, none of this reserving culture, very comfortable low and struggled getting on /off I have a weakness so my hubby helped. There are lots of steps around the complex. They have plenty going on during the day, Sara was always chatting and encouraging people to join activities, the evening activities were lacking and the biggest fault. Shame they dont put on Greek dancers or more live music, the was a live duo one evening but limited tables not sure why it wasnt at the theatre or beach so more could enjoy? Food and drink available constantly, very good selection, lovely food great choice, my favourite al la carte was Asiania fresh, beautiful compliments to the chef. Bar staff were very busy, solemn, lacking smiles, drinks were slow mainly because of demand they didnt stop, The hotel has a modern look and feel, app used for communication and information, was my 1st time to Rhodes and the old town is worth a visit, similar to tenby but larger. All together I would recommend this hotel and would consider returning, really enjoyed our break…
Following a great week’s stay at Grecotel Dama Dama, I wish to share my personal feedback from the trip: Mobility- the website doesn’t (I don’t believe) state anything about there being many steps without hand rails around the hotel. I thought this may be tricky for guests with walking aids, or issues with walking in general. Whilst it’s not enough to put you off please be aware there are layers to the hotel from the lobby and Main building to pool, restaurants and beach. Children friendly - the website does a clever job of showing off the classy and stylish interiors and showing mainly adults on the Instagram images. I didn’t spot when booking it’s not adults only so although it didn’t matter to us as a couple, just highlighting it here so it’s no surprise on arrival for others. The lobby bar - tasteful decor and delicious cocktails, unfortunately the wait times let the whole experience down. Only two bartenders for approx 100+ guests, and only one waiter taking orders at prime time 8.30pm. The wait times are too long and I’d be surprised if anyone can take advantage of the All Inclusive package thoroughly as you can only get a few drinks in an evening (if you are lucky). Shame the attitude of staff reflects to guests. No smiles or happy holiday vibes shown in this area. Pool and Beach- Pool areas are superb. Fluffy Towels available always. Sun beds easily available and very comfortable. For October, Pool was extremely cold but it didn’t ruin things. Beach was shingly, although plenty of sun beds available for anyone wishing to chill in the sun. Music was very loud and repetitive throughout the day so my only feedback to pass on to the hotel would be to choose songs wisely for the time of day and consider noise levels. Entertainment were always on hand to answer any queries, upbeat and get guests going to activities. Reception- I’ve never seen a reception area tucked away from guests and it’s clear by this and the app, that the hotel would rather communicate to guests through WhatsApp than direct. The receptionist staff were attentive, and helpful with my requests made. Dining Options - the three Resturants; Asian (our favourite), Italian and Greek, were available to dine in once each per stay. The food and service is excellent and with only small bookings available it means staff are on hand to help and provide drinks etc. This felt like the four star experience we expected. Definitely book your slots using the app which can be done before your arrival. Within a week usually bookings become open. The buffet restaurant was good. A lot of choice available although I didn’t think the choices then changed much throughout the week. It would have become boring had the other restaurants not been an option. Breakfast was particularly lovely - thanks to Mariana for being welcoming here and always taking to us - excellent customer service skills. In the evening it was impossible to get anyone’s attention for a drink. I had to ask a Manager in the end. My advice is to order a bottle of wine (it’s included in All Inclusive) as soon as you catch someone so you have enough drinks for your meal. The Beach Bar is a great choice for a buffet lunch and drinks service is fantastic and easy (likely helped by Klaus mentioned above who flies around all guests checking up on them ensuring they have all they need). Klaus deserves a bonus or promotion. Stand out waiter who works triple the speed of others. A true reflection of hard work, passion in his job and he greets guests with the welcoming smile everyone wants to see whilst dining. Rooms - Don’t be fooled by the word Superior if you look to upgrade your room. There are a number of Superior rooms which have not yet had renovated bathrooms so the pictures online may be underwhelming when you see the room. I’d recommend a Lux Me room on a high floor in main building. We were gratefully moved to room 101 which is outstanding - highly recommend this room and any ‘X01’ positioned room as you get two balconies on to front and side. Can’t fault the cleanliness of any rooms I saw though, spotless. The mini bar is restocked every other day, cola, water, fanta etc, however by the end of our stay we were just provided water. A bottle of white wine greeted us in the room when we arrived, which was a nice touch. Overall Comments: Staff (beside Klaus) need training on being welcoming to guests and be upbeat as much as possible. Guests should not feel like a hindrance being there. Drinks need to be available quicker to guests at all times. Music needs to be better considered by pool and it doesn’t need to be the volume of a nightclub. Some guests do just want to chill and relax when on holiday. I would recommend the hotel to anyone giving the plus points far out way any negatives. We had a lovely holiday and feel sad to be home. Those sun beds are calling my name! …
