Welcoming & courteous staff, for whom nothing is too much trouble. Tasteful resort layout, with grounds beautifully maintained - a lot of guests there but still a restful, non intrusive environment. Loved the pool. Fine restaurant & bar. A bit dated in places, but sort of adds to the ambience. Great driver

I bring my family while on bussiness trip and we get the good price from traveloka, arrived in the evening and had a room in the corner, when i ask for another room they said that all rooms are fully booked while i saw that the hotel are very empty and quiet. Internet connection was very poor. The reception guy at the night was friendly and help us but still didnt solved the internet problem.
My son was swim at the pool and the staff told them that they are not allowed to eat. Very funny while the staff bring the ordered food. The staff only gave 1 towel while we are 3 of us. The reason was very ridiculous : only 1 towel/room.
The food at bfast were very bad, the service were very poor.
Very bad experiences. Not recommend for family stay. Maybe is good only for foreigners.

When the night comes, you will feeling a ghost around you. The hotel rooms is located in back corner of the resort, far from main building and restaurant which located near main gate, during the night, the street leading from the lobby to the room very dark and twisty.

This is typical small boutique hotel which have a good spa facilities (Kayu Arum formerly was a day spa destination resort, not a hotel), good breakfast option, and very good value for the money.

Recommended: Maybe Yes, but must stay with a lot of people.
Return To Sleep: Absolutely No.

As usual, I always include photos in each of my reviews on Tripadvisor. - It's Real Review.

Hotel is nice by salatiga standard. Located in quite hill side of salatiga. Not really a resort standard though. The hotel has large garden, but poorly maintain and bad mix of trees and flower. Breakfast is very2 basic, choice and taste wise. Rooms is in traditional javanese style, little bit dark, but interesting. Bathroom also traditional and has not nice damp toilet smell. This hotel has a very nice spa located in the second floor, which can be an issue for old person. As they do not do in room treatment. Massage technique and experience was standard and basic. One big disappointment is the fact the reception staff does not have good basic information about salatiga, such as places to eat, point of interests..etc.

I was staying at Kayu Arum for 1 night (check in April 26, check out April 27), and was staying at Akasia 9. When I checked out, I forgot my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 charger. I realized it when I was already out of Salatiga. So I urgently asked my friend to check it, but it's gone already. I'm sure I left it in my room, cause I was charging my smartphone before I checked out. SInce no other guest stayed in the room after I checked out, so any child can guest who took it....
I was disappointed... It's hard to find a hotel with staffs that has integrity nowadays....

This is my first stay here and in Indonesia. Amid the insane traffic right on the main drag hides this top notch resort. I have been treated and feel special here especially after a hot long business day. The food has been very good service is very quick except for getting the bill. The only area that needs improvement is the WiFi which tends to be selective in where and when it works.
If I were looking for pure relaxation this would be high on my list.

I found this hotel through search engines before i start my trip to Salatiga. slight difficult to find this hotel since the location is not on a busy traffic and not many peoples in Salatiga knew the location of this hotel.

Hotel building looks like a regular colonial house, but once we enter this building, we will immediately greeted with smiles and friendly from front desk staff. All the furnitures in this hotel are made by high quality teakwood.

I enjoyed my steak in front of the restaurant veranda facing the garden while listening to soft music. Apart from restaurants that provide high-quality food and many choices, they also have a quality of service SPA and place very well.

Kayu Arum hotel, like a hidden gem at Salatiga, once we visited this place then we will be amazed of the beauty of this hotel and might stay again and again. The park is beautiful, clean and friendly staff make this hotel favored by expatriates who live in Salatiga and Semarang to fill their holiday weekend.
