Very ordinary hotel, but central for the amenities of the area, we had a two day stay here and the area is a close walk to lots of eating areas and bars. The pool area is really nice and the staff were very helpful, especially as we had an early check out on out last day. Breakfast was good too.

This is a nice hotel and would be even more lovely if it were not situated about 100m from the M7 trunk road to Budapest. If you get a room on the front of the hotel, it is significantly quieter - peaceful, even - but on the back, the road noise troubled me a lot. Hot country, need windows open... More

It is absolutely OK for a few days stay. Everything is very close on foot. The harbor, bars, restaurants, public beach and train stop. Outdoor pool (not heated) tennis courts. Reasonable breakfast. No AC in the rooms

My family has stayed at this hotel over the past four years . It's within walking distance of the train station. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The staff is very competent and multilingual . A guest in this hotel is given the royal treatment. We were Waite on hand and foot. You can eat on their fine restaurant... More

A good place, we only stayed for a night, but it was very relaxing, quiet and peaceful. Good dinner, helpful staff. The lake is also very close to the hotel , great sunset photos . That's it, see you later :)

We've been going to Balatonfoldvar for many, many years but this was our first stay at the Fonix. What a wonderful experience it was! First of all the building is simply lovely: it's a majestic old estate located very close to the lake. Thus it was very impressive from the start! The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We... More

Nice stay at Lake Balaton. Fonix Hotel is located 400 meters from the lake. Good location in the town center-Supermarket CBA, promenade with plenty of restaurants, beautiful park with summer cinema. The hotel has a beautiful garden, swimming pool. also offers sauna.Clean room, fridge, tv, plus bath. Comfortable beds. Breakfast could be more varied. But sitting outside in the garden.... More

We booked here because it is close to the train station, has a pool, and - perhaps the determining factor - there was a very attractive offer on b****ing.c*m! We were very happy with our choice, very friendly and helpful on arrival and throughout our short (three nights) stay.

The location is excellent, being less than 10 minutes walk from the Balatonfoldvar railway station but also far enough away from the noise of the main centre. Our room was clean and tidy, with a newish AC unit. The pool here was a real bonus to refresh in after the madness of the (very shallow) lake. We can't comment on... More

We just arrived and they've told us our room is no longer available and have booked us into a different hotel each night of our holiday .... all hotels we would never have stayed in. Not even a courtesy call! We have also been told by locals that in history of hotels in the area these cowboys are notorious. Be... More
