Went there for dinner. Is one of those places where you get sat in a sitting room and they come around with the menu and you choose before you sit at the table. The place has an odd layout and I couldn't help feeling that the sitting room would have made a better location for the restaurant as it has... More

We were driving to Kingussie and by sheer chance decided to stop at Archiestown We got a friendly greeting and were shown to the fabulous lounge for pre lunch drinks which was full of big comfy chairs and sofas The dining room was a lovely contrast Lunch was delicious, the hosts were polite and friendly with nothing too much trouble... This is my favourite place to eat locally. The double baked cheese soufflé is to die for so was very happy to see it was on the menu. It was a beautiful sunny evening so enjoyed an aperitif outside. The owners are very welcoming and attentive . We both had fish dishes which were very good and shared crepe suzette... More

Received a lovely warm welcome from the owners of this great place. Stayed for 2 nights at beginning of April. Great food served for both of the breakfasts and also for the 2 dinners we had here. Brilliant building....especially liked the large lounge complete with open fire. Highly recommended. Many thanks for a lovely stay!

What a great find! Initially the picture of the exterior locked me in but it was the warmth and professionalism of the owner-managers Jane and Alan Hunter which made it clear from arrival that I had made a great choice. We had a lovely room - number 9, I think, which is 2 floors up but has a king bed... More

I needed to entertain a prospective client in the area so needs to entertain 9 people with 7 of us staying. Jane and Alan were actually closed for their own winter break but when I contacted them they very kindly opened the hotel and entertained my business colleagues with dinner and comfortable rooms for the night. My client couldn't thank... More

A real gem set in the heart of fishing and whisky country, stunning scenery and close to the quaint town of Aberlour, and only an hour to Inverness. From the minute you are greeted by Jane and Alan, see the comfy array of sofas and the beckoning fireplace, you know this is going to be a memorable stay. I had... More

A small hotel with personalized attention and service by Jane and Alan Hunter, the owners. Friendly, gracious, and helpful from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Cozy lounges and fireplace for a pre- and post-prandial drink or dessert and coffee. Comfortable, nicely furnished rooms. Excellent cooking and service. Every item ordered over two dinners and two breakfasts... More

I've stayed here several times during July and August as I'm working in the local area. Jane, Alan and all the staff are very welcoming with comfortable rooms and great food in the restaurant. I would recommend staying here if you want to visit the Whiskey trail with several distilleries very close by or just for the great highland scenery.
