We stayed here for three nights from the 12th August and we're really impressed. From the welcome when we arrived to leaving we were made to feel at home.Karen and her staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfasts and evening meals were excellent. Our room was spotless and we'll stocked. You couldn't ask for more. Definitely recommend to anyone... More

We were tootling around the North Yorkshire Moors on this beautiful sunny summer’s day looking for somewhere to have a leisurely lunch and came across the Board Inn in the tiny picturesque village of Lealholm. On stepping inside we received a very warm welcome and I ordered a shandy and a half pint of draught Guinness for my wife. There... More

Booked one night at The Board Inn for our anniversary as we'd heard good things about the food. It exceeded our expectations in every aspect. Location is beautiful, so peaceful sitting outside overlooking the river. Hospitality lovely, from being greeted with a smile, to checking if we had any special dietary requirements, to the bar and dinner service. The room... More

This is a lovely place to visit as a stop off when travelling around the area. We stopped off for a quick bite and a shandy whilst visiting the area. We sat outside by the river just watching the world go by with our drink and snack. Ale and food really good and both went down very well. Beautiful views... More

We had a meal and overnight stay while visiting the superb Esk Valley Theatre. My game casserole was superb. The chips and fresh vegetables were cooked perfectly. A great welcome with great service in a smashing village. Well done to all

Whilst on holiday nearby we booked in for Sunday lunch as had heard this pub was top knotch, and we weren't disappointed. With so many different roast meats on offer it was hard to choose and when it arrived it was absolutely delicious. All the meats were cooked to perfection, generous portions of tasty veg and crispy roast potatoes and... More

Just arrived home from a superb night away. Absolutely everything was good, the food, staff, rooms, location and dog friendly really does mean what it says. We will certainly be going again when time permits.

We have stayed twice, and both times we were bowled over by the quality of the food and the warmth of our welcome. All the food is locally sourced and prepared and presented to a very high standard. The village is idyllic with a stream running through the middle and moors all round. Highly recommended.

With the help of a relative, and the couple who own, manage and prepare the food here, we planned a family dinner for a Tuesday night. We had two rooms for the 41 of us, and due to pre-ordering from a list of 5 items in each category, we were served quickly--not sure how they managed that! The food was... More
