The Guest House is a special place - a home away from home. A very warm welcome, delicious breakfast and beautifully decorated rooms - which are always clean and warm. It's very convenient for skiing Les Tours, Les Grands Montets and Chamonix is just down the road. We'd love to visit in the Summer season. Highly recommend.

We got a room on the last floor, a spacious room that is maintained to a high standard, clean. The room has a large and very comfortable bed, blankets, pillows, towels and quality soaps. Helen helped us by recommending a good route that was worth a lot and the breakfast is excellent. This is an opportunity to get to know other travelers and to get in touch with Helen. During the tourist season there are restaurants and a cable car near the house and you don't have to go all the way to Chamonix. We strongly recommend the hotel, you should know that there is no adjacent parking and there is a walk along a dark path of about 100 meters from the parking lot to the house. Also, you have to take off your shoes upon entering the house.

The Guest House is the best place to stay near Chamonix - it feels homey, it is clean and comfortable, the scenery is utterly stunning, and Helen is a wonderful host. We absolutely loved our four days here and hope to be back.

The Guest House Vallorcine is a perfect family run home away from home. I have been returning numerous times. It's a perfect mountain cabin in a very quiet area surrounded by nature and mountains. Evenings spent by the cozy fireplace. The cabin only has a few rooms, each with cute little details to make the rooms feel like a mix of Scandinavian/French Alps style cabin. It's ideal if you're looking for some quiet time in nature in an authentic mountain hut. Chamonix and the other ski stations like Argentiere, Brevent are an easy car-drive away. The hosts are very friendly and supportive! Highly recommend this place!

We first stayed with Helen and the 'Boys' in March 2016 and have returned for our weeks ski holiday every year since (saving 2021 of course). Over the course of our 6 visits, we have got to know the family quite well and would like to think that we can count them as friends! This years visit was as enjoyable and relaxing as ever, The Guest House feels like a home from home and although we ate out locally some nights, Helen cooked some delicious meals for us, including a wonderful Fondu. We also cooked in a couple of nights as there is a self catering option. We have visited most of the large ski resorts in the Alps, but love the unspoilt nature of Vallorcine, and if you are an intermediate skier, the skiing in Le Tour/Balme is pretty good as well! We look forward to March 2023, it's already in the diary!

We have stayed four times at the Guest House and we return each year for a number of reasons: Helen's hospitality, the cozy atmosphere, the copious and social breakfast, stunning view of the Vallorcine valley, comfortable private rooms, and Helen's local knowledge of hikes and restaurants. You can a number of fabulous day hikes from the front door. Park your car at the beginning of your stay and leave it parked til the end!

My apologies for my late review; the world has gone crazy since February. Back in early February my friend Matt and I stayed with Helen, Steve, and their boys for just over a week of beautiful skiing and sight seeing. We arrived in Vallorcine via the train and Helen was there to meet us with a big smile! The house is a short walk from the train station that connects all of the skiing destinations. Helen knew we were flying into France and that we had lots of baggage and skis. So out of the kindness of her heart, she picked us up. The house is so cozy and comfortable! Extremely clean and tidy! There is a small grocer down the road perfect for making dinners in the common area. Helen and Steve know EVERYTHING about the surrounding area and we were quickly able to plan out our trip with their assistance. They gave us free train passes that allowed us to get off at any stop. The breakfast spread that Helen prepares is unreal! Matt and I came to the general consensus that the owners and their sons are more than just hosts, they are our friends, and we cannot wait to see them and Chamonix again!

It had been a few years since a few of us had skied Chamonix. We knew Steve and Helen from great holidays of yesteryear, but had not stayed at the guest house that they'd bought after we were last in the area. Our rose-tinted expectations were high and nothing disappointed. The impressive chalet is just north of the Chamonix valley, very close to the new chairlift at Vallorcine. This lift opens up the Le Balme Le Tour & Vallorcine ski area tremendously. But my friends and I were there to ski the Grands Montets for 3 days straight; and other than snow, what you need for that is sound sleep, a good breakfast and some help/advice with the local amenities (ski hire, restaurants etc.) Tick, tick, tick. It was great fun and Helen, Steve and their boys helped make that possible. Highly recommended. One tip...they have off-street parking for guest cars, but do bring some good boots for the short walk up to the chalet in winter.

We arrived in a snow storm and Helen, the lovely host and owner, picked us up from the train station. The Guest House is around 10 mins walk from the station. Vallorcine is a lovely small town away from the crowds at Chamonix and a bit higher up so we get a lot more snow there. The place is a very lovely chalet with all the needed modern facilities. Although it is snowing heavily outside, inside it is nice and warm and cosy. It is lovingly quiet at night. Absolutely peaceful and tranquilizing for us who are living in the city. Our bathroom window is next to the woods. Helen and Steve are wonderful people. very helpful and friendly but not intruding or commercial sounding. They know how to make the guests’ stay relax and comfortable. Commuting to Chamonix is easy and the train ride is picturesque. Perfect for any kind of holidays. I give this place 10 out of 10.

I arrived unannounced without a booking. I knocked on the big front wooden door to be met by a somewhat surprised host, Helen, who graciously listened to my story and fortunately had a room available at such short notice. I was quickly made to feel at home in a spacious and tastefully decorated bedroom. It was the perfect base to explore the Chamonix Valley and a trailhead from which I spent happy days on various walks surrounded by remarkable beauty. Thank you to Helen for her warm hospitality and insightful pointers on where the best walks are to be found.
