After walking several weeks on the Via Podiensis, from Le Puy, I've been needing to take a few breaks from the Gites, and I was so glad to do so here at Domaine de la Carrere! Such an amazingly beautiful place! Decorated so nicely-- lovely gardens! Warm and gracious hosts! Vegetarian friendly (just give them a heads up.) A++

We stayed here on day 32 of our Santiago Compostela pilgrim walk. As soon as you walk in the door you are struck by the stunning collection of personal items that really personalize the property. Mike and Fritz run the hotel like a well oiled machine and were very obliging and assisted us in recovering some lost baggage from the... More

On my Camino walk from Le Puy to St Jean Pied de Port in June-July 2015, I stopped over in Arthez-de-Bearn and had the good fortune to be booked at the Domaine-de-la-Carrere. After a day's tramp in 40C heat and humidity, this boutique B&B provided a luxury shower, a spacious room, and a bespoke style of hospitality. For architects, antique enthusiasts,... More

We stayed here on the Chemin de St Jacques and were very impressed. We arrived in the mid afternoon and were told that we were the only guests that evening so they upgraded our room. The room was massive and the entire property was beautifully renovated.....a process that they said they spent two years on. The location was great, in... More

Beautifully furnished and very comfortable; lovely pool. The hosts are exceptionally helpful and take immense trouble to provide a unique service for every guest. Perhaps the greatest advantage is that although there is no local restaurant for dinner in the village, they make up for it by serving delicious dinners in the house, complete with wine, at a very reasonable... Myself and my wife stayed here on our recent walk on the GR 65. This has to be the best Chambre D'hote we have stayed in.
