Really pleased we chose The Inn for lunch , haven't been for years so thought we'd revisit and so glad we did. I had the goats cheese risotto which was excellent and would thoroughly recommend . My husband had the ham, eggs and chips ,equally as good but he did have food envy when looking at my meal as it was... More

We got a last minute booking here and didn't regret it! We were warmly welcomed on arrival and were in time to eat a delicious evening meal. The bedroom was spacious and clean and decor was interesting and restful. The bathroom had an enormous walk in shower! We had a very good night's sleep and an excellent breakfast. Would definitely... Well serendipity is a wonderful thing! Found this place quite by chance trying to locate another place in the village (Ancient Technology Centre - also brilliant). Eat, drink, stay it says on this thoroughly modern but full of C17th character Inn in the lovely village of Cranborne ...... we did and enjoyed every aspect. Not sure where some of the... More

We had a fab stay at The Inn @ Cranbourne. Food fantastic , room fantastic . staff were very friendly. The only negative is that it was dog friendly . While that's not for me it suited other guests. Beautiful village , like a chocolate box.

Stayed here with friends for the weekend. The pub is very warm and inviting and beautifully decorated. Rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and it is always a pleasure to be provided with fresh milk to go with tea/coffee. Good value menu in the bar and there are daily specials. Very dog-friendly, which is a bonus. What sets this place apart... More

Stayed at The Inn at Cranborne on Jun 4th 2016. The first thing we noticed was the very dirty bathroom. Dust and scum covered the surfaces and the carpet looked barely vacuumed. At a closer inspection, there were a number of cracks in the plaster and a rough paint job on the walls . We found that the shower did... More

Visited this evening with my wife and fully expected the experience to be in-keeping with the building and general atmosphere. Sadly the disappointment started early with a very casually dressed and clearly inexperienced bar-person mumbling at me. The bar lady all be her polite and pleasant was inattentive and didn't rally seem bothered. The food to put it bluntly was... More

Lovely homely inn in the middle of the countryside. 15min drive to Wimborne town. The rooms are very clean and decorated beautifully, providing great tea/coffee making facilities and essential oils toiletries. The landlady was very welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant bar is relaxed and dog-friendly. The breakfast was great.

We went there as my husband was showing to our friends the places he used to frequent when he was a child. It was very nice to see how nicely decorated is the pub right now, great quality of food and outstanding service. The place is dog friendly, lot's space to sit comfortably with them. Very well recommended!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Within this 17th Century building, Jane Gould has brought about her own vision of a traditional English Country Inn. Amongst the wood burning stoves, cosy corners and sharing tables you will find hearty interesting food, lovingly restored bedrooms featuring large beds with snuggly duvets and a choice of pillows and fabulous en-suite bathrooms with powerful showers, some roll-top baths and Bramley products. The daily changing menu is interesting but not overwhelming and there is always great range of well-kept Real Ales, including the Inn’s own Fleur Ale, brewed specially by Hall & Woodhouse. The Inn at Cranborne is fast becoming a focal point of the delightful village of Cranborne, set as it is in the heart of Cranborne Chase with its ample opportunities for fishing and shooting. It is a short drive to the New Forest, the beautiful Jurassic Coast and the sandy beaches of Bournemouth. Winborne, Salisbury, Shaftesbury and many gardens and historic places are within an easy drive. The area is also great for cycling and walking, with Jubilee trail right on our doorstep. ... more   less
