Lovely rooms, in a very cosy 'pub'. Sat Nav took us right there, and received a warm welcome. Well appointed room. Had dinner there that evening. Menu wasn't pages, and pages of choice, which is a very good thing in my book. It's better to serve a few choices of meal very well, than too many not so well. Really... More

What we had was very nice but when u pay almost £14 for a roast dinner you expect more than 2 small roast potatoes each and a small bowl of veg between 4 people, other tables of 2 had the same amount of veg as we did, when we asked for more we where told they had ran out, &... More

I'm sorry that we couldn't get you any extra vegetables or potatoes, we had been very busy and the remaining veg was allocated for the meals yet to be served. Under normal circumstances providing additional items is not an issue but we genuinely did not have anything left to spare, without other diners going without. I hope you understand and... More

My partner and I have rented Poppy Cottage for a week (review to follow) and after reading the menu, decided to have a meal here. Our dog is a bit of a wimp and as he would not go in, the staff were really accommodating. They let us order our meal and delivered it to the cottage with no complaints... More

An overnight stay in this friendly, relaxed pub proved to be a real winner. Good choice of beer and cider, something for all tastes on the menu and staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Clean and tastefully decorated bedrooms with complimentary drinks on arrival, we wanted for nothing. The impromptu song from a local crooner just added to... More

I stayed overnight in the Shepherds Hut as a treat for my 5 year old son and border terrier. We had a fantastic time! The owners are friendly and welcoming, the accommodation in the Shepherds Hut, as well as being great fun, was very comfortable. We had good quality, traditional pub grub for dinner (fish and chips and ham, egg... More

We were camping at the small field behind the pub and booked dinner for Friday night. The food was stunning and very good value for money. The atmosphere in the restaurant was chilled and welcoming and the service excellent The campsite facilities were good and kept clean although there are shared and there are only 2 loos and 3 showers... We had a two night stay to meet up with family who were camping in the tent field of the Masons Arms. We had booked bed and breakfast for two nights.
