Detailed Reviews
Very pleasant hotel, nicely furnished, above-standard equipped, there are two Wellness centers - one for families with children - including a swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna complex, the other for adults - there is a swimming pool with a beautiful view of the surrounding nature, a whirlpool and a sauna world. There are bowling alleys (adapted for small children), billiards, air hockey, slot machines for children, a children's corner, two night bars, a spacious restaurant and excellent food. The hotel has a modern ski room with lockable boxes and heated ski boot holders. The hotel has an extensive exhibition of paintings by Slovak authors. Children enjoy Chopík - a fairy-tale character who accompanies them through the evening program. After dinner, various attractive competitions for children and adults. The hotel has mini ski buses, which ensure access to all ski resorts in the north of Chopok. Friendly staff complete the atmosphere of the hotel. Outside the winter season, the possibility of hiking, the availability of hikes to Mt Chopok or the proximity of the Liptov region. I definitely recommend, an excellent holiday with lots of relaxing, social and sports activities.

Had a great experience at Wellness Hotel Chopok this past week while visiting the Liptov region. The location is really perfect for exploring this area, located in very close proximity to the trailheads of most of the hiking trails and ski slopes. Hotel provides its own transport service to ski area and back in comfortable minibusses.
I had a great experience with the property itself as well - everything was clean and comfortable. And the architecture and atmosphere of the hotel was very interesting for us. I found the staff to be very warm and accommodating, too. The breakfast buffet was excellent as well as extensive dinners.
I definitely would not hesitate to stay here again if I ever return to this area, and would certainly recommend this property for anyone visiting Liptov region.

With some hesitation we booked this hotel with 5 adults and 4 children between 1 and 6 years old. Described as a family hotel we were initially reluctant as many hotels only suggest they are family hotels however in reality they are not. I was very surprised at the extensive childrens programme delivered. This hotel is truely a family hotel with great booking staff.
Dinner is set with set tables which is great as you know where you are going daily. each family table has a small table with colouring pens and pages to entertain kids while you wait fir food to be served. a brilliant idea. the food varies and the lunch / snack option is a also a brilliant idea.
Friday night is a special food night and the variety at every mealtime is brilliant.
I would recommend somewhere in the restaurant a drinking fountain/tap is placed for people to fill up water bottles with.
The sauna and swimming facilities are absolutely brilliant. the udea ti have seperate pool and wellness facilites for families and adults only makes this hotel extra special. this drastically improves my view of this hotel as you can swim with children in one pool and go somewhere else if you want yo be children free for a while. i would recommend opening the adult pool earlier (1pm rather than 3pm) as many kids have a nap in early afternoon and this could give the chance for one parent to enjoy facilities while kids sleep.
the kids programme is the best i have experienced anywhere. the programme staff genuinely enjoy working with kids and although our kids speak english they had no issues understanding and enjoying their time. in fact they actually looked forward to it daily. I would recommend having an arts/crafts room available for kids somewhere rather than specific times for this to happen.
there is a small lego area. a small soft play area which the kids loved and an arcade which could do with updating. the outside play area is also a brilliant addition.
i only became aware if a babysitting service after we left which was a shame as i would have used it. but great that this exists.
there are lots of things to do within walking or a 20 minutes drive of the hotels location.
The cleanliness if the hotel is great and we didnt notice any dirt or mess.
The staff are really very very helpful. On one occasion i asked the manager who was wearing a grey suit a question and he told me to ask someone else. Apart from this every other staff member was engaging helpful and positive.

We organized a Congress for our company. Right from the beginning, they guided us with the price offer (which we only found out during the billing)... apparently they deliberately prepared the CP so that we decided on their hotel when organizing. A dinner for 150 people in the amount of over €4,000 was not included in the CP that we agreed upon and based on which we decided on this hotel when organizing it. The dinner was listed in the CP with the amount, but it was not included in the final price offer, so the amount suddenly increased by €4,000 during the billing - which was not our fault. The approach of the company management is very sad and misleading. And I'm not talking about the fact that there was a mouse running around the congress halls, as well as in one room, the cups and cutlery were dirty, unwashed. Despite all this, there was absolutely no effort on the part of the hotel to reach an agreement. A very big lesson from us, and in the future, if you want to organize an event in this hotel, be very cautious and careful. In any case, have the contract reviewed by a lawyer before signing.

V časti Praslička je vo wellnes aj v ubytovacej časti vstup pre hostí len od 16 rokov podľa informácii na webovej stránke. V skutočnosti je to pravý opak, je z toho detský tábor s jaslami. Miesto kľudu krik. Ostatné služby boli vysoko kvalitné, izby pekné a čisto. Avšak práve táto skutočnosť pokazila celý dojem z pobytu.
In the Praslička section, the wellness and accommodation area is only accessible to guests aged 16 and over, according to the information on the website. In reality it is the opposite, it is a children's camp .Instead of place of peace and quite , a place of screaming was there. Other services were high quality, rooms nice and clean. However, it was this fact that spoiled the whole impression of the stay.

Starting with reservation process which is confusing through hotel website. We wanted to book a room for a couple with a baby, two different prices showing on two different screens, had to call them and resolve, not a big issue, but still not resolved on the website Today.
Baby received toy, colouring book when we arrived - very nice touch.
We had to order our dinner during check-in, but receptionist showed us menu for next day unfortunately. We found out when we've received our dinner that night. Restaurant staff is amazing, don't think I've ever experienced such a helpful and friendly service. Food was great as well, no complaints here.
No complaints about room and room service, everything was as advertised.
Wellness and other services are very good, as we were visiting during holidays season, sauna and swimming pool for adults and older kids were not crowded at all. I've enjoyed that and massage (€ extra) very much.
What I didn't like is that the disabled parking lots were occupied with cars without disabled tag during our stay. I know individual visitors are responsible for that, but reception staff requested our plate numbers when we've arrived, so it shouldn't be a problem to call visitors who are parking on disabled spots and ask them to move car somewhere else.
There is an afternoon snack being served, which is nice touch as well, but it's somewhat chaotic. Capacity is limited, as the restaurant isn't fully opened for afternoon snack. There are room numbers on the table, but if your table is in closed part of the restaurant, you are unlucky as the people who have their number on the table will come and claim the table and you need to find different one and hope no-one else will claim it.
Overall, this was rather pleasant experience and I can recommend this hotel if you're visiting with baby. Think our 3 months old enjoyed his stay very much as well.

We had an amazing, perfect trip to Vienna, Budapest, Betliar - Slovakia, Krakow and Prague. Everything about these cities and hotels were 5 star.
However, in between we stayed at the Hotel Wellness Chopok in Demänovská Dolina, Slovakia. It was a nightmare. After checking in, a maintenance man was sent to the room to fix a broken doorknob as we sat waiting in the room to unpack. ONE HOUR later, after dealing with his swearing, banging, sawing on metal with open flames flying - ripping the door off, we had to go down and request another room. No staff had the courtesy to check on our situation and offer us another room. Even though they eventually gave us another room, the reception told us the maintenance man said it was ‘our fault’ for the broken door knob.
We tried to get some kind of satisfaction and response from the hotel. After waiting 2 weeks for an answer from from the hotel director (multiple emails, voice mail messages, front desk messages), he said he was ok with the maintenance person’s behavior and the staff’s response. Again, he blamed the broken knob on us.
There is nothing ‘wellness’ about the Hotel Wellness Chopok and if you read other reviews, we are not alone. Steer clear of this property. There are so many others that are absolutely marvelous.

Nice family hotel, with lots of activities for kids. Downside is there is no aircon in the rooms (and it was very warm when we were there) and there is an expensive and prescriptive dinner each night (which we opted out of). A la carte dinner apparently doesn’t “start” until 9pm, which is very late. Definitely value for money and set in a beautiful part of the country.

The hotel is in a good location, parking was ok and our room was big and relatively quiet - but it still depends on your neighbours... I would prefer better bedding, especially pillows - not good enough for me as I have headache when sleeping at an old low quality pillow. There was a bit cold in our room so we had to ask the staff for help, because it is not possible to operate it without their help. Spa was ok. There are more saunas, tepidarium, big pool with a great view. I would be happier if the jacuzzi would be stronger. It is a family friendly hotel so there are kids running in the corridors, but the Spa is separated-one is family friendly and the second one adults only;)

Room Tip: When traveling by car, I would take my own pillow next time:) It is not really very luxurious...

The hotel is located halfway up the hill, where the scenery is beautiful. The hotel rooms are very luxurious. The hotel services are excellent. The reception staff, chefs and waiters in the restaurant work very dedicatedly and professionally. The breakfast buffet has a variety of foods, there is a beautiful swimming pool and a sauna. I really enjoyed my trip there. Thank you to the hotel for giving me a wonderful experience of Slovakia and its people.
