I was in the area to visit Slieve League, but it was getting late and my car's engine light went on, so I had to find lodging pronto. It wasn't easy because it was a slightly isolated area. I tried a hostel in Glencolmcille, but it was booked. The owner was so nice, he offered me a cup of tea... More

We had quite a difficult time finding the place as we were constantly in and out of service while trying to navigate with my iPhone. When we arrived in our room was not quite ready because somehow I had accidentally booked the room for one instead of two. We met a very nice Frenchman who let me use his restroom... More

I stayed in Aras Ghleann Cholm Cille for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. The breakfast cooked by Paul each morning was tasty and reasonably priced. The rooms were homely and comfortable as was the atmosphere of the place. I think the large open kitchen and lounge area creates a great opportunity to speak to people and make friends.... More

Stayed here for two nights to begin our driving tour of the Wild Atlantic Way from there to Dingle. Lovely walking, don't miss the woolen mill down the road, we bought several items. Silver Strand (beach) is not to be missed and Slieve League, which we visited on the way south was amazing. Paul, the owner, was very helpful. Really... More

I stayed here for the first two nights of a 5 day road trip through County Donegal. The location was perfect and beautiful -- conveniently a short drive to the Sleave League cliffs which I'd come to see. The owner was incredibly gracious and hospitable -- gave me a trail map for Sleave League -- advice on the climb as... More

We stayed here as part of ongoing road trip around Ireland. Location is stunning, completely away from any major town or city. We were welcomed by owner who showed us local attractions to go to as well as our room and all the essentials. Room was moderately sized, bathroom was large with decent shower. Room was quite clean, relatively comfortable... More

Dear Tim Glad you enjoyed your stay with us and that you liked the area, which is of course fantastic. I think I can also (Albeit belatedly) explain the noise. We had a problem with a shower jamming on in the room directly above you night you stayed with us (22nd Sept). This caused a major panic at the time,... More

I've stayed at this B&B now twice. The owner, Paul, is amazing with lots of information to give and offers a free shuttle to all the things to do around. It may seem way off the beaten track but there's great restaurants and hiking in the area. Make Aras your home base as I did and see beautiful Donegal. Warm... More

We stayed here for one night on our road trip around Ireland. We had a family room with en suite, which was clean and comfortable and superb value for money. The area is quite remote but the scenery breathtaking, perfect for hiking, photography and fresh air away from the hustle and bustle. The owner is very knowledgeable of the area... More

Great place to stay. Ideally located close to Glencolumbkille Woolen Mills and Sliabh League cliffs. Great value for money and the breakfast was fantastic. The owner, Paul, was excellent with his advice on what to see and do in the area. He also runs a shuttle bus from the hostel to the pub in Carrick. I would stay here again.

This is a marvellous place to stay.Close to village and the folk village museum. Great craic in local pubs. Wonderful scenery and great coastal walks. The facilities are excellent.I had a single ensuit room. For 20 euros. The self service breakfast was substantial and only 5 euros. Really excellent value. There is also a comfortable lounge with good views.
