Ravenstone lodge is highly recommended. The food in the restaurant is excellent, the staff are very helpful, and the location delightful. It is also excellent value for money, matching the quality of a four-star hotel at the price of a B&B.

Thank you everyone who reads my reviews They are thought out and hope they help you. This week stayed at Ravenstone Lodge near Keswick on theatre visit. Previous TI reviewer commented on paper thin walls . Sadly totally correct. You can hear everything next door including annoying prat who left mobile phone beeping all night ... Noise can be sorted... More

Second visit to the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it again. Friendly staff and nice comfortable rooms, excellent location and a nice easy walk down to Bassenthwaite Lake. Food really is very good indeed and we ate there twice during our three day break. Can't say I've ever heard the people in the next rooms breathing though. Would not hesitate to... More

Stayed here as we were attending a wedding close by, the staff were brilliant, attentive, and friendly so I can't fault them whatsoever. However the hotel itself wasn't all it was cracked up to be. I booked a double room for myself and partner and on arrival was told they only thought there would be just myself? I presume this... More

I think this is a duplicate of the review above so I won't repeat my comments. As regards the nursing home smell I really haven't got a clue what that was, could that have simply been fresh Lake District air? And as regards the breakfast, I'm not sure what you would have expected but with homemade muffins, homemade bread, homemade... More

We stayed here for a short weekend as we were attending a wedding at Armanthwaite Hall. On arrival, the location was lovely. The room was clean but very small. Nice touches with homemade biscuits and tea facilities. The walls were very thin though, we heard next door neighbours turning over in bed and every breath they took. Granted this is... More

Thanks for your comments. First let me make clear that our rooms are booked on a price per room, not per person basis so whether you had one or two people in the room would not have affected the rate charged. So the fact we were expecting single occupancy and it turned our to be double occupancy would not have... More

Great little hotel, staff helpful and friendly, location lovely for quiet lake walks. Food was delicious, try the slow cook pork belly, melts in the mouth. Easy access to the Bassenthwaite lake for quiet and peaceful walks.

We stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the food was excellent. There ia an outside terrace to enjoy in good weather and a cozy veranda for when you get "Lakes" weather.

Stayed here for two nights. Wished we'd booked for longer. Lovely staff, beautiful views, comfortable rooms, gorgeous food in the restaurant and the very best breakfast muffins ever. If you book to stay here be prepared for a treat- it's lovely!! Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a stress disolving couple of days.

Quiet and picturesque location. Rooms spacious, Staff very friendly and Cusine to tempt any palate. Living in Cyprus, it was a pleasure to arrive in the Lake District and spend our time in the lodge with its wonderful surroundings. Whether coming to explore the hills and lakes or just wanting some quiet downtime, I would highly recommend giving here a... More

I attended the lodge with a friend for afternoon tea. I'd not heard anything about this place beforehand and went because I had won the afternoon tea as an incentive within my business. We arrived on a glorious sunny day and were greeted by a friendly members of staff who asked used we'd prefer to sit inside or out. We... More
