We stayed here for a night in March. The chilly temperatures had seemingly put many off visiting the Lakes as the area was a quiet as I’ve ever seen it. The peace was wonderfully welcome and allowed us space to explore Keswick and the surrounding...More
My husband and I have just returned from a one night stay at the beautiful Link House. I say beautiful as the whole experience was exactly that and a perfect induction to Bassenthwaite, an area we had not visited before.
The accommodation is spotless and...More

Hi Amy, thank you for your question. We have just read some of the replies and would like to clarify some of the misinformation you are being given. One reply was quite correct in that it is an easy walk of only about five minutes, a walk we do each evening to walk the dogs. If you are concerned about it we are more than happy to give you a lift to the Pheasant or the Lakes Distillery ( as we did for Jack and his wife) and Brian the local, wonderful taxi driver is more than happy to collect people but as he he is so reasonable and popular, it is always worth booking in advance (we can let you have the number).
There is also a fantastic X5 bus service with stops outside the door for the short trip to Keswick or Cockermouth (and beyond) with all the many choices they have.
If you need any further information please contact direct and we look forward to meeting you in January.
