Not very welcoming from landlord/manager, quite abrupt attitude. Meal in bistro was good but overpriced, fish, chips and mushy peas at £14.50 was very overpriced and expensive starters too. There are other places as good, if not better, at far cheaper prices.

We visited on Tuesday, the hottest day of the year, and had a lovely lunch in the beautiful garden. Delicious food, very good service and all set in a lovely shaded garden. We eat here quite often and have never been disappointed.

I booked 2 nights here back in April and at the time of booking I booked a Superior Room. On checking in we discovered that another couple with the same surname had already checked in. It soon became apparent when we got to our room that they had been given our room and vice versa. On talking to the manager... More

A lovely lunch in the bar but a 125ml glass of wine was not available. I believe it to be mandatory to serve this measure so The Pheasant adds to the list of establishments that do not understand this. .

This wonderful old inn retains the feeling of old fashioned comfort and charm. I visited the restaurant with friends and we all wallowed in the ambience of this lovely old inn. Afer a relaxing time in the bar, enjoying an excellent sancerre we transferred to the dining room where we found the food to be of a very high standard.... More

I must agree with the numerous people below, the "manager" (A Mr. [-] ), whom I had the [dis]pleasure of meeting is certainly "off-hand" to say the least. After being requested if I'd enjoyed my stay at The Pheasant, I reluctantly divulged: I had not. I elaborated and explained that the quantity of flies was simply unacceptable, I have honestly... We came here for dinner one Saturday night, purely by accident. Driving around in the pouring rain, looking for somewhere to eat & we needed to do a U-turn to go back to where we came from & came across this Inn, which was a most pleasant find. They managed to seat a party of six even though it was... More
