We ate in the Bistro last Sunday evening 18/09/2016. The food was superb, but the service was terrible, the blond girl that waited on our table, needed a serious amount of training or a different career, you can't do customer service with a can't be bothered attitude. No rapor what so ever and the way she put the plates down was... More

A beautiful old building which you need to watch for the signs for. Very old furniture in the bar area but very clean loos. Had sandwiches which came with chips although the menu said there was a choice. Fairly expensive at £7.50. Drinks also upper end when you think we were in the bar. Dog-friendly in bar. Worth a visit... More

Been coming to this place for many years. Brasserie is meant to be relaxed, less formal than the restaurant. But..... Might not be back. Food, good as always. Service questionable, and that is being generous. Food slapped on the table, nobody bothered to ask if it's okay. The only real action was when we asked for the bill. Didn't bother... More

We came here for my son's birthday meal and ate in the Bistro. The service was excellent, both polite and efficient and the food was fantastic. I have a nut allergy which can be a nightmare in restaurants, but not here, the staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating. Between us all we tried the Smoked Haddock, Ham Hock Terrine, Confit... More

We've been dining in the restaurant here for years and have seen it change hands and new staff arrive. Always we've said,"yes, we'd come again." For the first time in all these years we were slightly disappointed. The service definitely wasn't up to standard, being VERY slow, although the food was still lovely. We were there for Sunday lunch and... More

Been to The Pheasant twice and it's really one of the best places I've eaten. The food is excellent and for the price it feels really top notch but not top notch prices. I'm a veggie and have many food requirements, not lease being allergic to mushrooms and not eating goats cheese. Normally a gastro pub would be the worst... More

Came here for lunch with the family to celebrate a birthday. First impressions when I pulled up was what a lovely quaint little hotel. Met by a very nice gentleman who showed us to our table which we had reserved. I did a little exploring in all the lounges and rooms downstairs and had a walk in the pretty garden... More

Sunday Lunch in the dining room. Meal was superb and the staff excelled themselves. After our initial visit I was not very impressed with one member of staff and said so on this platform, however on this occasion we were given a little more respect, I believe that person has been dismissed. Thank you for the experience, we will be... More

Cannot describe the area as arrived on a wet and windy evening. We didn't stay here but met friends for dinner. We all enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the food was freshly cooked and well prepared.
