We have just returned from a weekend at the hotel having arrived late on Friday night. We received a warm welcome from the staff and were shown to our room. No doubt there are a variety of rooms at the hotel, but ours was a room that seemed to have been lost in time - this is fine if you...

My husband booked a surprise mini break in between Christmas and new year. We had a room overlooking the lake with an ensuite bathroom. The room was a little cold but a lovely view and I took my own hot water bottle! Very welcoming with offer of a glass of sherry. We walked to the Lakeland distillery in the afternoon...

Tonight dinner in the Lake view restaurant was first class. Lovely food with a caring and attentive team looking after you. We will come again. The head...

This is our 3rd stay here and each time lives up to our expectations The service is exceptional and all the staff are very attentive. The food in both the restaurant and the bistro is impeccable. The smoked salmon starter was like heaven on a plate. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe lake view room. Absolutely stunning...

We searched for a dog friendly hotel and came across the Armathwaite Hall Hotel. The stay was beautiful, the staff were friendly and very accommodating. The Spa was wonderful and the surrounding woodlands were amazing for dog walks. We would recommend the afternoon tea which was divine. The only thing we can fault was the Steam room being out of...

Overall a nice stay at this hotel. The staff were pleasant and the room comfortable although in need of some upgrading to warrant the standing of this hotel. Meals were very good, both dinner and breakfast the following morning. The only real "moan" was that having booked with the hotel and having been told this was the best rate, in...

As many guests were celebrating special occasions I was surprised & delighted to receive a complimentary upgrade to a lake view room which was recently refurbished. The hotel staff were attentive and friendly in an non intrusive way. As vegetarians we were impressed by both the restaurant and bistro meals that we ate - the quality, taste and presentation was...
