Me and my husband came here for a weekend stay, we had the baby moon package as I was heavily pregnant. The room was nice and spacious but the shower was rediculous, once you put the shower screen around you, you hardly had room to move so we didn't bother with that we just used the bath. The food was... More

We stayed in the main bulding for a night in room 126, which was a large room with a newly refurbished bathroom. The soft furnishings and antique pine made the room look dated and wasn't really to our taste (think 1980 rather than 1880!) but we appreciate this is a privately owned hotel and really liked the public rooms. Service... More

Arrived at Armathwaite Hall on a Saturday afternoon looking forward to an afternoon tea. When we phoned to book we were informed there would be a wedding on that day and our afternoon tea would be at 3:30pm. We were disappointed to wait 45 minutes before having to ask to be served, it seems that the conservatory is not a... More

we stayed in a Spa Room, what a room it was lovely, we had twin beds, lovely deco, in the bathroom had a lovely bath and shower and you could watch TV while soaking in the bath. You had a patio area through the doors with a lovely table and four chairs, lots of wildlife to watch while sipping a... More

This imposing hotel was the perfect setting for my mother and I to enjoy a catch up and relax. It is situated in a most gorgeous location with beautiful views of the lake and Skiddaw.-a perfect retreat. We were lucky enough to grab a three for two day bargain break which included dinner in the formal dining room. The food... More

Armathwaite is the place we chose for a very special occasion. It exceeded even our expectations. Superb venue. Attentive friendly staff. Especially Gemma but also everyone in reception and the restaurant. Fabulous meal. We were changed to a better room by the staff without our input because it would be better -and it was. And for breakfast together for our... More

What a lovely hotel, great location & fantastic staff. Work related visit, but was a real pleasure with an extra few personal touches in your room to make you feel special. Very large room with true grand manner feeling about the whole place. Excellent Fantastic evening meal with a real English breakfast in the morning. 7am swim with a quick... More

Our daughter bought us a voucher for us to stay at Armathwaite Hall in 2015.Lovely location and views. Our room was in the old part of the hotel it was nice and clean but in need of decorating the wall paper was peeling off the wall and it all looked a bit tired. The bathroom was fine modern and spaciouse.... More

We stayed in July for two nights. The room was in the newer part which is good because you can have the windows open to cool the place. Dinner in the restaurant was good but the menu does not change so a short stay is better. I previously stayed in the 1950s and the greatest change is the staff are... More
