A lovely old inn, in sommer lost of place to eat outside. Super food, very friendly personnel, good place for children with a varied menu, something for everyone's taste.unfortunately they had run out of rice so I could t have the Korean curry I had set my nose up after, the rest of my guests, 2 12 grow ups and... I was very disappointed with the quality of the room for the price charged. The room was small the washbasin not fit for purpose and the bed hard and lumpy. We did mention this but it fell on deaf ears.

Arrived at 4pm, quick check in. Stayed in room 5. Nice on arriving- tea facilities/biscuits ect. Room abit dark. Not much light entering. Bathroom facilities ok- shelf at sink was abit wonky things slid off. Bed comfy but didn't get much sleep as the rooms are next to a busy room and train station is across the road so trains... More

Lovely old coaching house. The rooms are in an old stable block and are full of character. Quite a bit of noise from trains but that's not their fault, and double glazing etc would spoil the charm of the place. Staff very welcoming and helpful on arrival and throughout. Great value food and drinks and a good breakfast.

Stayed there for a couple of nights with a friend and her mother. The staff were lovely and very helpful and the rooms were quaint but modern and very clean. However it is on a main road and there is a lot of traffic noise, couple with level crossing alarms and noisy drinkers sitting outside in the beer garden. It... More

My family organised for a family get-together which included dinner at the Swan. I used to live in the area before I moved away many years ago and this is the 1st time I have retruned since. It was a warm Saturday evening when we arrived and there were a number of customers using the extensive beer garden in the... More

Food so much better than it was 6 months ago.. (due to new management) lovely afternoon spoilt by an over enthusiastic employee informing us that if our 5 year old boy left with the stick that he had happily found, then the pub would not be held liable for any injuries incurred. Seriously ?? What has this nation come to?!

Accompanied my husband for two day business trip. While husband was in meetings on first day I arrived at pub at one o'clock and asked if I could book in as had been on the road since 6am. Bar lady was going to do this but was stopped in her tracks by another lady (manageress/owner?) who stated emphatically and in... More

Can't beat this pub for the beer garden, plenty of benches, good choice of beers, water bowls for dogs. Nice and relaxing. Menu choice is good and food reasonable price. Tried the burgers before and really tasty.

After our recent visit we shall certainly not be returning. After the many attempts it took us to place an order due to most of the menu being unavailable, we were served by an exceptionally rude waitress, who quite clearly should not be in a customer facing job role. She was extremely unhelpful and rude. Not only were we subjected... More
