We stayed here one night with friends to catch up with some overseas visitors. Our room was small but comfortable, I appreciated the kettle but not the rubbish shower. The Swan is right near the train station, so very convenient for travel from London. There is also lots of parking available. The food in the restaurant is varied and interesting.

We stayed overnight and were very comfortable. We were on the ground floor in the converted stable. Yes the room was on the smaller side, but it`s just for sleeping in and it was cosy and warm. It was also very clean and I was impressed with the bathroom especially the shower area which was very well kept. The steam...

Will not be staying at the Swan again. The room was small but to be fair had everything we needed. The bathroom looked good at first glance but looking down, the pipes round the toilet and sink also the central heating pipes and the skirting boards were very dirty. The noise through the night from the plumbing woke me up...

I've been a regular visitor to The Swan for the past 20 years or so and can honestly say that this place continues its downward spiral.. The last visit was with my family and another family for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The service behind the bar was poor with a miserable woman who clearly had better things to do...

Stayed at The Swan in Thatcham last weekend for 3 nights. Great location, friendly and helpful staff overall would recommend for a value for money break. Good breakfast and nice menu choice. Only problem we had was the thunderstorm on the first night which caused lots of problems and the kitchen had to close, but the staff ordered us a...

It's a pub serving pub grub The pub wasn't very welcoming and felt dirty. The service is order at the bar so you would think the waitresses who just deliver the food would be quite relaxed and smiley but no ... Miserable faces and had no clue. I ordered a chicken burger with no tomato, the bar person confirmed, the...

The accomodation at The Swan is situated next to the pub in the old stable block. The rooms are smallish but clean and well furnished, although a little dark due to the small windows. They have comfortable beds and the bathroom we had was light and well laid out with a bath/shower combination. I am over 6ft tall, so had to...

The Swan is clearly a very popular pub and is in a good location in terms of its proximity to the train station. We got the train in to London and it took about an hour, so not bad! We arrived late and retrieved our key from the barman who asked if we knew where to go and then left...

Perfect place in the summer. Food is good, beer is good and the staff are all nice. It's family friendly and you can take your dog too, but not in the restaurant side though obviously. It's only a stones throw from the station too .
