Wonderful old Appenzellerhaus, all in wood. Lots of stairs as 3 houses are connected which are not on the same level. Beautiful views and great walks. I've attended a silent retreat and found the staff very friendly and respectful of the retreat. Phantastic végétarien cuisine. A very santé and heating place to stay. No TV or wifi in the rooms...

I understood that the hotel would be child friendly but on arrival (after travelling for almost 14 hours) we were greeted with coldness and the owner told off my daughter for looking in a cupboard. Located in the very deep Switzerland, Gais is easy to reach by train from any part of the country by changing in St. Gall. The hotel is situated in an old country wooden house and has very nice and modern rooms. No TV and no WiFI is a choice from the tenants to offer a healthy stay. Very nice seminar...
