The new island itself it beautiful. The ocean the clearest I’ve seen and is like swimming in a bath. Stunning. What really makes this incredible place is the staff. Every single member of the team made you feel special. They cannot do enough for you. We were emotional to leave and say goodbye to our new friends. It’s so hard to mention individual as they were all so good but Andre, Glenford, Hulda and Camille we will miss so much. The ocean front rooms are slightly dated but the hotel is gradually updating these so we knew this in advance and they were still lovely. The only thing that lets palm island down is sometimes the food. The lunches at sunset restaurant are incredible every day. The bbq night is fantastic. Just the evening meals are not as strong as they can be. We have stayed at galley bay, the sister property in Antigua, and the food there was always faultless. If palm island can get the food spot on then it would be hard to find fault. That being said the staff and the island itself make you forgive the hit and miss quality of the food.…
We booked this 2 years ago pre-covid and SO needed Palm Island to disconnect/reconnect. This trip to paradise was perfect! The staff was so welcoming upon arrival, and our suite was comfortable and clean. The beach is gorgeous and water crystal clear with snorkeling steps from our suite with a variety of colorful fish. We biked around the island, hiked, played tennis and went to the gym. We had delicious meals (try the veal chop, tuna sashimi, ceviche, marlin and filet). And the staff became family. Thank you to our waiters and bartenders (Parnel, Louis, Shak, Nia, Andre, Tamara, Oliver, Johnnie, Glenford, Hulda, Minroy), the happy Housekeeping staff (Joy), and management (Devon, Alaska and Katie). I cried tears of joy and sadness when we left. We'll be back to paradise with our friends soon. …
Having stayed at some 30 resorts over the years, we (ok, I) have a pretty specific list of must haves for island vacation spots. I thought that last year’s stay iced it for me. Palm Island, it is. Then I spotted the hummingbirds in the sea grape trees shading our ocean front lounges. Perfection plus. I haven’t seen anyone mention the luscious linens and super comfy beds and pillows. Nor give credit to the meticulous grounds keeping. Literally every leaf is picked up from the beach daily, rows of agapanthus being planted for spring color, walkways swept …and silently, I should add. Anything you need appears in minutes via bike or bartender. This entire staff is top notch. You are acknowledged the moment you enter the dining areas . You can be as engaged or as private as suits you. You will not see any arguments or staring at phones or anything other than total professionalism. And delivered in a calm, convivial tone. Nothing stuffy , just island classy… Manager Katie is a gem and her office staff are equally sharp. The outings are really fun and Capt. Jerry on Yannis “Tornado” catamaran provides a memorable day on either of the tours. And the lunch is deelish. Very easy access on and off the boat even for my buddies with knee issues. (Take your photos of idyllic Mopion before everyone messes up the perfect sand! ) See you next year….…
Palm Island is the only Caribbean resort we've gone to more than once - this was our third trip. It is a small, friendly, relaxing and regenerating place. Accommodations and amenities are very high standard as is the food. Chef Baka gladly shares his recipes. The staff is exceptional - service in all aspects is first class and everyone greets you with a smile and attention. The beach and water are beautiful with snorkeling and other excursions easily arranged. Certainly not party central but if you want to kick-back and get your groove back, this is the place.
I was tremendously impressed by this private island hotel that merge together a luxury Caribbean island lifestyle with adventures in and out of the water. Our villa was located in a secluded part of the island, offering privacy and plenty of space to enjoy together with my partner. It was of beautiful design, had the kitchen of my dreams and two bedrooms with large walk in closets and bathrooms with showers both inside and outside. We had a golf buggy to get around the island with ease which really added to the adventure. There's lots to do on the island. From wellness classes, tennis court, a great gym facility, incredible spa, common pool area, food experiences to enjoy, library and water sport equipment to use as you please. You literally feel like you are waiting up in a postcard when you get up in the morning to start your day. Even though it was quite a busy time that we were there the island did not feel crowded. And the staff are amazing and really make you feel seen and always there to assist you with any needs you may have. Palm island is also located in a part of the world you just have to experience in your lifetime. This part of the Caribbean is truly so impressive. We took advantage of one of their tour days with a sailing boat that took us to Tobago Cays to swim with turtles, giant starfish and other Marine life in the area. I highly recommend this beautiful island resort. We created memories for a lifetime and cannot wait to return.…
The island is amazing, although getting to this location is a journey. The hotel is great and the staff is excellent, all requests are fulfilled. We enjoyed the restaurants but felt it could upgrade the food selection and quality. This is not a non- smoking resort unfortunately, the open air smoking lounge is in the bar area within the restaurant. The smoke blows into the eating area while dining. The bartender was reluctant to address the situation, and rude. We had several other encounters with guests smoking as well. They seems to know that they are free to smoke prior to booking. The island has visiting sailboats daily that are not paid guests. They sleep on the beach benches and use hotel facilities and beach equipment. Security tries to restrict them but it continues regardless. The hotel staff are extremely obliging under the manger Katie . I hope they can address my concerns. …
This bucket list destination is nothing short of outstanding. Starting and ending with concierge service at Barbados Airport, nothing was overlooked by its superb staff and gregarious gm Katie ,former manager of resorts in Mauritius and the Seychelles. Small but large enough beaches and island so you never feel crowded. Excellent excursions and dining. All occupied buildings are in top notch condition from paint to cleaning. Bar closes when the last person leaves, beach is calm with no water shoes needed, pristine water and sugar sand. Paddleboards, kayaks and snorkeling is included . Fitness center is small but has,new equipment and ac is,sufficient. Ping pong, billiards and an extensive library next door as well as tennis. Bikes are provided for easy navigation among the iguanas and land tortoises. It's easy to see why they have so many return guests. …
So many good thangs to say about Palm island have been said before ... the staff and their friendliness , the quality of the food , the drinks , the cocktails , the nature on and around the island , the spaciousness and opportunity to cycle and walk around the 5 beaches , the well kept gardens , boat transfer to Union Island and the process of support through Barbados airport , the lovely pool , the countless palms +++ . These were outstanding and absolutely with a 5 review . However some points top note : snorkelling from the island was not great - to have a good snorkel you needed to pay for a trip ; erosion of the sand meant that there was a 1 metre high sand mound to negotiate as you left the sea after swimming there - OK for most but not easy for the less mobile ; whilst much was included and very good quality and value the ' extras ' such as boat trips spa treatments etc seemed over priced by a large margin ; I did not appreciate the per day ' resort fee' imposed by the resort owners - in effect and additional price for wifi etc that should be included in a resort at this level and price . So .. would I return ? Yes as many do , but management could make a few changes to make that decision even more likely . I will not mention any staff names as almost all were excellent , some truly outstanding .…
We have just returned from 2 weeks on Palm Island. We stayed in one of the Superior Beach front rooms which was amazing. While we were on Palm we got married. The wedding was perfect and the staff organised everything for our special day from the beautifully decorated location to travelling to St Vincent to obtain our marriage license . We had a choice of locations for the wedding to take place and we chose the bamboo pergola on the beach. We picked Palm Island to get married as we wanted something small, private and special - Palm ticked all the boxes. Special thanks to Katie and Ed who helped organise the wedding and also to Kay-Ana & Glenford who were our witnesses. Katie took away all the worries I had as a bride from helping me with my dress and my make up. Katie and Alaska kindly took some lovey photos. We can't thank ALL of the staff at Palm enough for making our holiday, wedding and honeymoon so memorable. The staff all make you feel so welcome; they worked so hard to make all of the guests' time so relaxing and enjoyable. The island is small and beautiful with many wonderful beaches. The wildlife is impressive, with iguanas, lizards, land turtles and many kinds of birds. We particularly enjoyed using the bikes / trikes to cycle around the island. We had the special picnic at hammock #4 which was amazing. We also thoroughly enjoyed a day out on the Yannis to the Tobago Cays and a sunset cruise on the Pink Lady. We enjoyed both restaurants and found the food and drink fantastic. There is also a superb range of cocktails. There was a slight delay in the flight from the UK to Barbados making our connection flight with SVG Air very tight. However we made the connection in the nick of time but we had to leave our luggage as the airline didn't have time to wait. Again the staff could not do enough to help us when we arrived, by providing us with essential supplies and T shirts with "In Paradise without luggage". Our cases arrived safely the next day. There is a very friendly atmosphere on the island with many repeat guests and we can see why. We will be back next year to celebrate our first anniversary and my birthday.…
This resort was an adventure to get to, but that was part of the experience! We almost missed the connection in Barbados, but Palm island had people at the airport that got us through very quickly so we could get on the plane to Union island. The people at the airport were so very kind and helpful! The resort is a perfect size. We biked around the island, hiked up trails, snorkelled, took the trip on the Yannis , swam, paddle boarded and went fishing. Plus, did our fair share of just hanging out on the beautiful beach! You can be as busy, or relaxed, as you want. We stayed in a garden view room and loved it. There was lots of storage available in the room. Each room has a patio with loungers and a small table and 2 chairs. We had land tortoises and iguanas outside the room everyday. We thought the food was really good. We went to the chef demonstration and thought it was interesting. We loved the chicken alfredo that he made! We stayed for 10 days and the menus do repeat. The chef said they were coming out with some new items on the menu soon. The staff were very nice and were always willing to help. They helped to make this trip truly incredible! The resort has a very high number of repeat guests and the staff are a big part of the reason that many return. The guests are friendly and we met some wonderful people! We hope to return some day to Palm Island resort.…
