I'd booked to stay at The Bull earlier in January but fell ill. After ringing the pub and explaining the day prior to the reservation they moved our stay a week later so we didn't loose out. The pub is split in two, a bar and a restaurant. Unlike other pubs in the area, The Bull hasn't lost the cosy...

Stayed over for a few days in room two, although small the room is very well equipped with nice touches. Very quaint with a modern twist. A little noisy but this is to be expected staying over a pub in an old building so is all part of the charm I would say. Food and drink wise we had some...

I stopped in here with friends after a walk up to Ditchling Beacon and back. You can't book for smaller groups so we waited in the bar area and had a drink whilst we waited for a table which only took about 20 minutes. The bar area where we ate is great. Full of rustic features and a big fireplace...just...

A lovely old pub and hotel with a charm of its own. The surroundings are really good ,with a hearty real fire roaring, and fine real ales on tap. The food was very good with a full menu for all tastes , rooms are clean and tidy.

This pub gets a five for quality. The quality of the food, the beer and the surroundings. Sometimes I'll give a four and occasionally a five for quality at a price point. The five here is purely based on the quality as a gastro pub. It's the best pub food I know. I'm sure Heston's Fat Duck is finer, but...

A good friend recommend this place. You can't book on a Sunday but we were seated fast considering it was pretty busy. A choice of lamb, pork or rare roast beef and around £15 per main. Decent portions, superb cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes - the meat was cooked beautifully, the Yorkshire was a little dry but all in all...

This hotel looks very nice from the outside and is pretty well maintained but the food is very expensive for what it is and there are much cheaper places with just the same quality elsewhere so if I wouldn't eat dinner at the hotel in future. The rooms were OK but very small and the shower in our room was...

Poppped up from Brighton with two other couples for a night out. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the venue had old world charm The food, however, let most of us down I had fish which was lovely, albeit a little on the cool side. Two of my colleagues had the lamb stew which was tough. My husband had...

Went there for lunch on our way to Brighton. They found a lovely table for us next to a log fire, very welcome on a cold day. As I wasn't hungry I just had the scallop starter which was beautiful. Everyone else in our part enjoyed what they had - fish and chips, beef burger and monkfish - all excellent....

We loved the village: the room was lovely and the staff were great. the downside was that the food lacked consistency in quality. A clear example was the breakfasts. We both had the same for both breakfasts. and agreed that the chef on our second morning cooked the food to a much higher standard on the second morning. The evening...
