My family has been to several tropical destinations over the last several years. This is by far our worst experience. Staff was rude with very limited effort. Food was recycled and not good. The portions given are stingy and small. We are very conscious of wasting food, but it’s almost like the staff made us feel guilty for ordering at the beach and pool cafes. No paper towels or napkins given at all. Not even in the room. I asked for chicken fingers for my youngest soon and they told us they ran out 15 minutes after we placed the order and with no substitute. Hotel overall outdated. Staff members make comments about their guests as they pass. Not very family oriented. Positives: rooms are large, but not very updated. Beach was absolutely amazing. Best clear blue water we have ever seen. But I have to really say that’s it. Next time we will visit Beaches resort, directly next door. Do not recommend!

Hi 1LoveTravel4Me, Family vacations should be full of great experiences and we are sorry that we fell short in providing that. We have been closed since August 23, 2022 for maintenance and renovations, reopening October 18, 2022. We would appreciate if you could share more details about your experience (including your travel dates), so we can address the issues if they have not been addressed already. For food portions, guests should never feel like they cannot order more, or feel unwelcome. Yes, we use cloth serviettes in all dining areas. They are provided with cutlery. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback - it will help us to continue to enhance our guest experience. Sincerely, Guest Services

This is a wonderful family resort! My family of five (kids 17,15,12) enjoyed a week at Alexandra. It takes a day or so to figure out where everything is and how to make reservations. I called prior to our arrival and was told we had to wait until we checked in to make reservations. They need to be made first thing in the morning, which is impossible since we arrived in the afternoon. The manager of Black Rock made an exception and was able to get us in our first night. Everything was fine once we figured out the system. Two things I recommend: 1) Bring a Yeti or reusable water bottle for filtered water and drinks 2) Bring some cheap inflatables that can be blown up there and left or deflated and brought home. We did go to dinner one night at Blue Haven (took the free shuttle). It is a nicer, newer resort but the beach at Alexandra is MUCH better. The resort does not have many snacks, which are essential with kids, but we got pizzas in the afternoon and kept one or two in our fridge. Also, we used the carry out boxes at breakfast to keep a few muffins and fruit in our room. The live music at night was fun! Kids loved the water trampoline, too. Overall, I think this resort is a good value and great resort for families.

Hi mmgohn, Thanks for your detailed review and for choosing Alexandra Resort for your family vacation. We are pleased to hear your family enjoyed your vacation. Yes, if you ever run into difficulty with our reservation system, one of our food and beverage managers will be able to assist. We would like to understand more about your experience with snacks. We have a snack station next to the smoothie bar in the courtyard. Can you send us a direct message with more details - was your family looking for a different mix of snacks? Your feedback is greatly appreciated as it allows us to improve the guest experience. We hope to welcome you back to Alexandra Resort. Sincerely, Guest Services

We had the most amazing vacation here. Our room was clean, updated, spacious, had two washrooms and laundry. The balcony was huge and great for a before dinner nap with lots of comfortable furniture. .The restaurants were amazing and all inclusive. The beach is the most beautiful I have ever seen. The water was crystal clear. There was a water trampoline for the kids and free paddle boarding and kayaking. Plenty of lounge chairs and towels. It was great that we had access to their sister Resort which was a nice night away with wonderful restaurants as well. The shuttle was free and came every hour. We saw beautiful yachts and a gorgeous harbour front. We went parasailing from our beach which was spectacular. The entertainment was live music each night. It did end a little bit early (10pm) for us as we really enjoyed it and could’ve stayed longer, But at the same time, it was nice that things quieted down at the resort for sleeping. Amazing family vacation! Would love to go back!!

Resort was beautiful. Got a 2 bedroom and it was nice and it even came with a full kitchen which I’m now guessing comes in handy since their food is not that great. I just wish the other bedroom had came with 2 queens or full size beds instead of having two rooms with two kings. I was traveling with kids and if the option to have a second room with two kings was available it was never offered to me. CONS…. The food was TERRIBLE! I’m pretty sure I lost weight on this trip. You know the rest of the day will be messed up when they can’t even get breakfast right. I was better off getting a resort that wasn’t all inclusive and then using the rest of my money eating our.

Hi Workhartravel, Our 2-bedroom garden suites have one bed in each bedroom. The 2-bedroom oceanfront suites have a king in in one bedroom, and two twins (which can be pushed together to make another king) in the second bedroom. It sounds like this option was more suitable for your family's needs. The bed configuration details are listed for each category under "rooms" on our website. Or our Reservations Team is happy to assist and provide more details by phone. Another option is our 4-bedroom penthouse suite, which has a total of 4 king beds, one in each bedroom. We are saddened to hear about your feedback on the dining. We would like to understand more details of your experiences. I checked our in-stay guest surveys for the previous week and was not able to find feedback that matched what you have shared here. We would appreciate if you could message us though email or social (Facebook or Instagram) more details that we can share with our Food & Beverage team to improve our guest experience. Sincerely, Guest Services

This is the DREAM all inclusive resort you and your family have been looking for! We went as a girls trip for a friends birthday and had the best time. The food was delightful, the staff were extraordinary, and the views were fantastic. Shoutout to our favorite bartender Farrah, and shout out to Alcide for always checking in and giving us 10/10 guest experience! We had Romaine and Barbie keeping us on the dance floor all night long and we couldn't be more thrilled with our stay. The water is more gorgeous in person than what pictures can capture, so do yourself the favor and BOOK this trip and this place. I can't wait to come back. It is a kid- friendly resort but remains very quiet with plenty of space at the pool and beach to space out nicely. Things I'd recommend for improvement- maybe having a courtesy shuttle from airport to resort-- cost us around $120 to travel 10-15 minutes. The front desk lobby could use some updating. Also, make sure your staff double checks if you are supposed to be oceanfront view or not. We paid extra for that and had to change rooms since this was not correct at first. The main buffet area was very hot depending on where you were sitting, so maybe an additional few fans would be beneficial. But overall, amazing stay, would definitely recommend to family and friends!

Hi klrice16, Yes, we are often asked if the photos are "real", when in fact they can never truly capture how beautiful the water is in person. We are thrilled that you were thrilled for your girls trip and birthday celebration. You are correct, we are family-friendly. And yet, because our resort is relatively small, it is never crowded. Your constructive feedback for improvement is appreciated as it helps us to improve the guest experience. Though the airport shuttle is not something we are able to provide, due to local taxi regulations. The airport taxis rates are set to $28 for the first two people, and $14 for each additional passenger in your group. Private VIP transfers are available for about $150 (per vehicle) each way - this may be a preferred option if you are travelling in a group once again. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Sincerely, Guest Services

Amazing experience, extremely relaxing Resort. Every person who works there is very professional and dedicated to their job. Some workers do 2 jobs like drive the shuttle to their sister Resort (Blue Haven) then you'll see him as your bartender until midnight. His name was Skyers and he always made our day and night!! Skyers is a true asset to the Alexandra Resort and they are very lucky to have such an excellent employee. The one other person who deserves a shout out is Petrona. She was our waitress mornings at the Asu' Restaurant. Greeted us daily with wonderful service and a beautiful smile. She also went above and beyond not only for us but everyone there. The beach there was one of the best in the world. No seaweed, crystal blue and clear.

It’s been awhile since my family has been to a resort but the Alexandra reminded me why I missed them! There was a lot of great food selections to accompany the open bar where Edmund took care of us and the rest of my aunts, uncles, and cousins. The staff was so friendly and nice, especially Jessica! My favorite place to eat was Fish Deck. We made it in time for golden hour and it was a perfect photo op! More importantly, our waitress Theresa and our chef Randy took great care of us and our stomachs. The creme brûlée was SO GOOD 10/10.

This was a Best Holiday Ever after 3 years with family post Covid. We were upgraded to a two bedroom oceanfront suite(Chelsea) and had plenty of space in the rooms. Though the rooms need a facelift,(they are getting renovated soon ),Lil the Executive housekeeper(an award winner for serving in hospitality for 30 yrs! Kudos!) along with her staff Renate and others are doing an incredible job! To keep the rooms sparkling from sand and roaches and chameleon and it is a quite an effort! Thanks Renate! The Gracebay beach is unlike anything we've ever seen. The water is breathtaking. One of the best beaches in the world with white sand. The workforce is incredible. They went above and beyond at every turn to make sure our experience was memorable.Special mention to Anika(MOD), Steven(F&B Manager) and Keisha(mixologist at the pool bar and most importantly, the life saviour). There are so many employees who we ended up on a first name basis like Cherline in Asu who is so adorable and my 5 yr old adored her and Elizah, the kid in the front desk and Kirana from the restaurant, There are soo many staff who went beyond call of duty to make our stay memorable and each one of them are so so hospitable! The hospitality comes from within!!! We spent our time on the beach with Sky and Edmund at the Coconut bar and Fish Deck and they making sure we were good on the beach and after! Anika checked in often to make sure we were having a good time. Staff was always going above and beyond and friendly all around! The food throughout the day had good variety and was delicious and the icing on the cake was access to Blue Haven Resort. The choices were unlimited considering the additional access to the buffet and restaurants of Blue Haven Resort. T’ange from Front desk in Blue Haven was incredible too in providing ace customer service! The all inclusive component is an added bonus for this resort and with variety of options! I'd recommend this resort a million times over and we were sad to leave!!My 5 year old said this was the best vacation getaway EVER!” -

I retired in July and spent two weeks celebrating with my adult daughter at Alexandra Resort August 7 to 21, 2022. We shared a third-floor studio overlooking the pool with a partial view of the stunningly beautiful water. We had a spacious balcony. Breakfast buffet was delightful - plentiful fresh fruits, lovely baked goods, delicious omelettes & scrambled eggs. Irie Bites' jerk chicken simply rocked, we put it on top of nice green salad almost daily. Coconut Bar was great. During our first week, we had tasty sushi dinners & steak nights. During our second week, we went to Blue Haven frequently to dine at Fire & Ice and Salt Grill. Butternut Squash soup at Fire & Ice was the best I've ever had. Steak Oscar at Salt was fabulous. The only disappointing dinner at Fire & Ice was paella - way too salty and the scallops & shrimp were really overcooked, rubber. Service at the 2 hotels was friendly. I liked Alexandra's gym - it was never too busy, the equipment was excellent. The beach was glorious, we spent days in the crystal water, it was so enjoyable. I'd like to finish by commenting on my 2-week retirement celebration at Alexandra. Upon checking in to the hotel, I casually mentioned to Latoya that I was super-excited about kicking off our holiday as a new retiree. Whether it was an oversight, forgetfulness or laziness, there was not a simple congratulatory gesture from Alexandra about my retirement, a major life achievement for most. There was no handwritten card left in our room, no treat, nothing at all. I would've been happy to receive 2 fresh coconuts for us to sip on while sitting on our balcony. There are coconut trees all over the property. The only word that is befitting here is inhospitable. We didn't talk to anyone else at the resort while we were there who stayed 2 weeks as we did - our vacation price tag was almost $17,000. Please.

After digesting this trip I always post honest reviews of my trips bc I feel it helps. There’s a lot of mixed reviews on this hotel as as the trip was closer I got worried… you’ll read why below. Positives: location was perfect. Right on Grace Bay. I’m an early am riser but front row was gone by 7-7:30am daily. Not a problem for me bring a book to save loungers. My room was nice, large, clean and well maintained. The room was walk out the back and be on the beach in 30 seconds. Loved that! The hotel is very small, could be a plus for some. Negatives: there were lots just into day 1. I don’t want to rant BUT some other families at check in were greeted with refreshing towels and drinks (this was never offered and I only know bc I was waiting for a taxi the next day and wondered why “they” got special treatment. Staff does not go out of their way for anyone… I asked at desk about a beach bag most had. I was told two stories and it’s in a warehouse they don’t come in 2-3 weeks…blah blah. Manager then threw one in my room that night 😩 I left a note for housekeeping to replace diet cokes and beer.. that note stayed there on desk while trip never once did we actually get the diet cokes for the kids. Don’t look for snacks and at times there’s NO food. I had to walk to the grocery store for snacks for the kids. The food gets very old day 2.5. It’s literally the same meals, even popped over to the sister resort Blue Haven and it’s small and same thing but better service. After day 4 we started going into town to eat as there were no reservations left at the one restaurant on premise. There were so many other little idiosyncrasies and I can honestly say I thought the island was stunning but I’d never go back or recommend this hotel. Last summer we had this resort booked but because of the kids passports we even had to wait an extra year to be treated so poorly. The trip originally was booked for 2021 and price doubled so for over 13k… no was NOT worth it!

Hi Ctaranti, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Though it saddens us to hear some of the details. This is not what or how we want our guests to feel about their vacation experience with us. Certainly all guests should be greated with the towels and drinks. Drinks are to be restocked daily. If it is missed, a quick call to our front desk should remedy that immediately. We have a snack bar located in the courtyard area, which also, is restocked during the day. It sounds like we had some gaps in time where this did not occur. And other possibilities for finding the snacks (e.g. letting a Food & Beverage team member know) were not communicated to you. As for the automated reservations system showing no reservations available - that is never our intent. If a manager was advised, they would have immediately assisted to find arrangements for you at our resorts. We will investigate and find a way to prevent this from happening. I have checked our in-stay survey logs and did not see the drink restocking or snackbar issues raised there. We are looking at our system to ensure guests are aware of all the communication channels available to them so when we do make a mistake, we can correct things quickly. If you are able to share more specific details on the areas where will fell short, it would be appreciated (through your preferred channel of communication - e.g. Facebook or Instagram direct messages). Please accept our apologies for the experiences where we fell short. Sincerely, Guest Services
