We just got back from a short family trip to this wonderful resort. From the front desk staff (shoutout to Sherman!) to the amazing bartenders, waitstaff and beach attendants, everyone was so friendly and kind and helpful. The beach and pools were absolutely fabulous and we remarked several times that the place was paradise. Our room (a one bedroom, ocean view) was spacious and perfect. So clean! We really enjoyed time spent on the balcony. I'll leave a separate review for the restaurant (Pelican Bay) but we enjoyed eating there for several meals. There are lots of larger hotels and resorts at Grace Bay, but we love the Royal West Indies and cannot wait to return!
I’ve never left a review on here before…I’ve read A LOT but never written one… I had to leave this review as having visited from England 5 times now I felt, more than ever this trip, like I had come ‘home’ 🥰. The accommodations are probably modest compared to some of the others, with a comfortable, everything you need feel. The reception team are lovely and super efficient. Sherman remembered us from five years ago as he delivered us to our room with our luggage after our gruelling 11 hour flight (it’s THAT worth it!). Evangeline from housekeeping looked after us so well every day with a smile and a hug (she remembered us too). Fresh towels and coffee every day as well as fresh bedding and cleaning whenever required. Nothing is too much trouble. The team around the beach and pool area cannot do enough and the facilities are kept immaculately clean. The grounds are stunning with regular coconut drops that the fabulous grounds team are happy to prepare for consumption 🧉! We used Pelican Bay restaurant and Bar (independently run, but on site) every day for drinks and food and had wonderful experiences every time (review left separately for them). Please, please visit this place. The others have started building higher and more intrusive to the gorgeous Grace Bay skyline, but Royal West Indies remains a discreet hidden gem. We met many lovely American friends who had stayed elsewhere but were in agreement that this place has it all. The sunset and beach are absolutely stunning, I know we can’t we can’t credit them for those things but their location is epic for the full experience , I HIGHLY recommend this place for the best holiday!…
My wife and I just got back from spending a week here. We had a great experience with it being our first time at Royal West Indies and first time in Turks & Caicos. Check-in was a breeze, they had everything ready for us and made it easy. We were assisted to our room by Sherman, who was very friendly and quick to offer assistance on multiple occasions. Once we got to the room (we did pay a little extra when booking for an Oceanfront studio....well worth it), we were pleasantly surprised by the awesome view of the beach and sea from our room. Our room came with a kitchenette which we found was very useful and came in handy on multiple occasions when we were able to stock up with items from the grocery store nearby. With that said the nearest grocery store is well within walking distance, but we elected to use the bikes the resort had on site. We were able to check the bikes out for 2hrs at a time. This gave us plenty of time to ride to a restaurant for lunch and grab some stuff from the store for later. A couple of the bikes had seen better days, but they served their purpose and got us around. One of the main reasons we chose to stay here was for the beach and now we see why this was voted The Best Beach in the world by several sources, not to mention Royal West Indies seems to have the most area in terms of beach out of all of the resorts, trust me we walked the entire stretch. The resort has several other amenities we enjoyed as well such as paddleboards, beach chairs with umbrellas, kayaks, etc. If you decide to go parasailing or any other water excursions, they will pick you up right there on the beach in front of the hotel as well. There are also two pools on site as well. Overall the experience was great, we felt safe, had a good time, everything was clean and well kept. Oh yeah and I almost forgot to mention the best part, the restaurant/bar on site (Pelican Bay) has the best happy hour on the island from 5pm-7pm with half off on all drinks. This was great, especially since everything else on the island seemed to be so pricey. We had a great time at Royal West Indies and if we return to Turks and Caicos, this would be the place to stay for sure.…
My family and a friend spent 8 wonderful days at this resort. Cindy, Campbell and Sherman are the best and cant' wait to see them again. I had a 2 bedroom with my daughter and grandson and my friend had a studio, botanical view. The rooms were spotless and well decorated, and had everything we needed. Huge balconies. The air conditioners worked perfectly and can be controlled. We needed help with the TVs and needed washcloths and they came in 15 minutes, I was very surprised and happy about that. Some resorts MIGHT come in 6 hours. The grounds are gorgeous with colorful flowers throughout and the pools are clean. The beach is just beautiful, never have to worry about not getting a lounge chair or umbrella and never crowded. We went out to the beach near sunset and the loungers were still there, so we sat out there until 9:00pm. So beautiful. It would be nice if there were a gift shop and a small place where you can get sandwiches to go and beach service would be a great addition. Umbrellas and loungers closer to the water would be nice too. The Pelican Restaurant has a lively bar and the food is very good and so is the service, though a little slow, but that's at most of the restaurants. We definitely look forward to coming back to RWI in two years. Love it there!…
For the price, you cannot beat RWI. No, it is not the biggest or best resort on TCI. However, the resort grounds are beautiful, there are two fantastic pools (a quiet pool for relaxing, and a pool next to the restaurant for a more drinks/music vibe), there is a beach Cabana with towels on your way to the beach, plenty of loungers and umbrellas (no issues ever finding one), and they have a good restaurant and outdoor bar by the pool. Rooms are super clean. Daily room cleaning/towels, etc. full fridge, microwave, and kitchen sink in all the rooms. Plenty of parking for rental cars. Friendly staff. Basically it’s everything you need and want in TCI at a very reasonable price point. Close to the main strip of restaurants and shops, although not quite what I would call walking distance. Since you’re going to be spending a majority of your time on the beach any way, this resort fulfills, and exceeds, all of your needs and puts you on the best stretch of beach in TCI.…
The property is gorgeous. Friendly and very helpful staff. Washer/Dryer in the room so you can pack less clothing. Separate pools for quiet relaxing and active play. Excellent bar service by the pool. Walk right out onto the picturesque beach and grab towels for the beach chairs. 10 minute walk to shopping and restaurants in Grace Bay town, or front desk can call a taxi for you. Many guests we talked to having been coming back for 10-20 years. This was our 2nd consecutive year at Royal West Indies and we will be back. We love this resort and highly recommend it.
Our stay at RWI exceeded our expectations! The grounds were beautifully maintained, the staff was friendly and helpful, our room was clean and comfortable, and the beach was spectacular! The resort never felt crowded. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
My best vacation staying at RWI. Very clean. The room was serviced everyday. The bed sheets was changed daily, lots of towels was placed in our room daily as well. We made used of the coffee machine as well, we love coffee given by RWI. Food was expensive, so on our first day we took the bicycles from the hotel and road to the grocery store. I would advise to get bread/ cheese etc for your daily breakfast. We ate out every night. I truly enjoyed seafood dinners. Mr. Gouper, La Brasas. I rented a car of Budget rental, also affordable. Our stat on the island was 7 days. Must Do!
Royal West Indies is a great spot on the island. It's on the nicest beach I have ever seen, the grounds are fantastic and the staff is great. The rooms are condo style rooms with full kitchens and very spacious, with island style decor that is simple and comfortable. The onsite restaurant is good and convenient and you are very close to other great eating options on the island as well. Overall a fantastic place to unwind, rest and enjoy the awesome Grace Bay beach. The resort is very clean and the rooms are cleaned daily on time and there is never a shortage of towels and other things you might need.
This place is amazing. We spent 4 nights and 5 days at RWI and we’ve already decided that next time we have to stay for at least a week. The rooms were spacious and clean. You have a full sized fridge, microwave and sink so you could keep food in your room. But you must visit the Pelican Bay restaurant and bar on the resort grounds. The food is delicious and the drinks are even better. The bartenders Bert and YJ are AMAZING and make sure you have the best time. By the end of our stay we felt like we were just hanging out with friends. I can’t thank them enough for making our time there so amazing. The bar is right by one of the pools so you can enjoy a drink poolside or take it to go and head out to the beach. There are plenty of loungers on the beach. We never had any issue finding a spot. And there is always someone around to help you plan your trip. We asked a staff member how we would book a boat to go snorkeling. He pulled his phone out right there on the beach and booked it for us on the spot. Everything felt so easy. And everyone we met was so kind. Our only regret is not staying longer.…
