    We might go back!
This was our fifth trip to Providenciales and first time at RWI. Previous visits had us staying down the beach but with the Ritz being constructed we changed location. The grounds at RWI is the best part of the property. The front staff was either very helpful or not at all. We had to ask twice for wash clothes and a do not disturb sign. We requested a valet for our luggage to check out, no one showed up. We were on the third floor and there are no elevators. The few of the beach was great from our room. Our third call to the desk was to complain about our water being brown. A service guy came immediately and drained the hot water tank. The wait staff at the Pelican Bay was slow and seemed disinterested in life. Plan on spending $75 for lunch for two people. Bikes are free but our chain fell off before we got off the property. The front desk girl was nice but had no idea how to put air in the tires ar fix the chain. Another issue was the beach chairs. The beach concierge put the umbrellas up each day and reserved chairs for owners or for families who paid him. He did this at 6:15am and we were told we could come down at that time to reserve our chairs in the front row or sit in the back if we didn't get down in time. There is also no official food and beverage service at the beach. The noise level was low which was great since they have two pools and the restaurant.

    Well worth it.
My best vacation staying at RWI. Very clean. The room was serviced everyday. The bed sheets was changed daily, lots of towels was placed in our room daily as well. We made used of the coffee machine as well, we love coffee given by RWI. Food was expensive, so on our first day we took the bicycles from the hotel and road to the grocery store. I would advise to get bread/ cheese etc for your daily breakfast. We ate out every night. I truly enjoyed seafood dinners. Mr. Gouper, La Brasas. I rented a car of Budget rental, also affordable. Our stat on the island was 7 days. Must Do!

    Great all round property
My husband and I stayed here as a pre Xmas vacation and it was a wonderful stay. The staff is helpful and kind and very attentive. They responded to our needs in a timely manner and were able to share tips and insights into things to do around the island. The room came with a kitchen and a washer/dryer which was very helpful and a balcony with partial ocean view. The buffet meals were high quality as well. The housekeeping staff was very prompt and made sure supplies were well stocked. They only provide shampoo conditioner and body wash so make sure you bring all your supplies or you’ll have to buy them on the island and the prices are very steep. The only suggestion is if there had bette lighting around the resort. I tripped once because the path to the building was uneven and not well lit. So definitely keep a flashlight while walking after sunset. Tip: the beach isn’t good for snorkeling so if you want to snorkel from shore then it’s not the best choice. Also the nearest grocery store is about 15 min away and the street gets dark. So you may want to rent a car if don’t mind driving on the other side of the road. We took cabs or mostly walked but that could be a hassle for some people

We loved this resort and would highly recommend it. We stayed in a partial ocean view studio room that was plenty big. We loved the mini kitchen and the room and bathroom had plenty of space and was super clean. So happy for washer and dryer!! The hotel is made up of multiple buildings with a path that winds through the lush tropical gardens, around the pools, which eventually leads to the most gorgeous beach. Plenty of beach chairs and towels, and a rinse area to wash sand is just off the beach. Food on the island is expensive (go to IGA instead of Grace Bay Market if you’ve rented a car) and the restaurant food was good. Great happy hour! In Sept just know not a lot happening and several resorts down the beach were closed. Only hiccup was concierge desk. We went and made afternoon snorkeling reservations for the next day with the concierge. We were told to call back the next morning between 9-9:30 if we didn’t hear from them to let us know if pickup would be at the beach or at hotel entry. No call so we phoned around 9:45 and were told to wait a minute as they would check. After 8 minutes or so I phoned back and got a brusque “ma’am I told you to give me a minute.” I apologized and waited…and waited…..and waited…after 45 minutes called the tour company directly for instructions. We never did get a call back. We also weren’t made aware that all the credit card info we left with the concierge was only to hold our spot and at the end of the trip the guide had to wait while we sprinted back to the room to get our wallet. We should have just made reservations directly on the tour website. Other than this small hiccup we highly recommend this resort-it’s a gorgeous place.

We spent one week at Royal West Indies Resort and would go back in a heartbeat. I called the resort to make the reservation and ask questions before booking. I was able to talk with Claudia and Janae in reservations and both were so pleasant and answered all my questions. Upon arrival the check in procedure was quick and efficient. Kendro met us and offered us rum punch while we checked in. We were early and our room wasn't ready so we wandered the property which is incredible. So many flowers, palm trees, and foliage that is immaculately cared for. Jessica from the front desk texted us when our room was ready and Kendro already had delivered it to our room. In the course of our stay, we encountered so many employees in a variety of positions from wait staff (Lanie, Ricky), bartenders (Ricky, Lovendjy, Berth) the towel guys (Jackson, Gene), housekeepers (Telicia) and landscapers, etc. They were all amazing, personable and very eager to assist. The beach is stunning and we spent lots of time there. We would definitely stay there again.

The rooms are old and need updating. The service was mediocre. The bikes they have for guest use are dangerous and in need of repair Nd when the bike breaks you are responsible. They no longer offer sailing as advertised and the overall service is not what it has been in the past. Next time will go somewhere else on the worlds nicest beach,

This is a mid-grade, no-frills, low-touch resort that is fine, but not somewhere we will stay again. Pros: - fast checkin/checkout - excellent air conditioning, you won’t be hot sleeping - rooms and bathrooms have lots of space for you to put your clothes, toiletries, etc - very clean rooms - full kitchen and washer/dryer which is IDEAL in off-season when many places are not open for dinner - super nice bar tenders - good Turks-themed pizzas - excellent room cleaners - TVs w cable at night in-room - no one really bothers you, is quiet in your room (we weren’t in our room much) - daily HH 50% off all drinks Cons: -kind of trashy clientele, which congregates at the bar nightly. Seems open to the public - yikes. - idiot adults doing cannonballs in the pool during HH (why is this allowed)? - unhelpful front desk. She acts like you are annoying her when asking such questions as “where can I find a scuba shop?” - none of the things you get at a higher end resort: robes, complimentary bottled water/iced tea, no welcome punch (we were supposed to get this), no materials on places to go, book excursions, or info about the island and what to see, etc., no complimentary beach chairs, how to get to Grand Turk, getting beach towels was a PAIN, it’s one spot by the beach (not the pool) and was not convenient - not enough stations to wash sand off feet - so there is sand all over this resort - resort isn’t as kept up as it should be: broken boards, things needing repainting Overall, it’s a step up from a budget hotel but we won’t be staying here again. We need something a little higher end and better for people who are visiting for the first time.

This was my second time going to Royal West Indies Resort and I really like staying there especially as a solo traveller. I have been to Turks and Caicos three times now and I gave my review before on Ports of Call Resort which is where I stayed on my first trip... I ended up staying here when I told my travel agent I wanted to stay somewhere not too large and where I'd feel comfortable on my own... and this is the place! The first time I went there was during Covid, yes I travelled when it was very difficult and I had to pay a lot of money for PCR Tests... that was in Dec. 2021 and then I went back again last August when all the restrictions were lifted because Turks and Caicos is where I experience a little bit heaven. The property is not very large but I always managed to never find the apartment where my room was lol. But once I figured out where it was in relation to the hot tub and pool, I was good from there. I like the front desk staff, they are all wonderful and I buy the bottled water from the front desk. I love love the private beach area for this resort and that soft sand is amazing. Though I'm from the Caribbean originally, I am not a real beach lover. However, when it comes to Turks and Caicos I must have at least three hours on the beach a day. Okay so, one thing I learned on the last trip is you should really feel safe on the beach, it might not seem like anyone is making note of things or keeping watch but they are. I learned this because a lady who checked out but had permission to leave her luggage and go back on the beach was there and one of the attendants came to ask her to leave the beach area. She showed them she had been staying and had permission and it was fine. But, do not be fooled... they know if you aren't supposed to be there. And that made me feel super safe. That kind lady was helping me go in the water because though I have been to Turks now three times I had a broken toe the first time, acute plantar fasciitis the second time and this time ... I was able to walk on the sand FINALLY! So, I love the beach and there are water activities though I did not do any of them. This is a smaller resort so I like that it's pretty chilled out. The food on the property is OK. They have a bar, their Greek Salad is amazing and actually worth the price. They have theme nights as well, I am often in Turks to chill so I haven't taken part in anything, but maybe on the next trip? Beach towels and chairs are part of the package at the resort, and everything is kept really clean. I used a local taxi guy to take me everywhere outside of the resort. I go into town to the other grocery store... it's still expensive like the one close to the resorts, but I could find some more down to earth grocery items. I just arrange drop off and pick up with a local taxi driver. That's sort of how I have got around on each trip. Oh I also like the washer and dryer and they provide a small box of soap powder. To be honest I have never done laundry on a vacation before, but I did on this trip... and that was great! Perfect thing to on my last night after going out to dinner. I used Trip Advisor to go to other places but my eating is very basic. I go to Shay Cafe for breakfast pretty much everyday for their omelette and smoothie, and then I treated myself to Mango Reef before I left. Everything else I ate was pretty much salads or fruit that I bought at the grocery store. I'm that economical traveller who treats myself just a bit.

The Royal West Indies is a smaller resort – 120 rooms in 8 buildings, only 3 stories each. They are arranged in a gorgeously landscaped strip leading to the beach. In June, it was probably 30-50% occupancy, so felt very comfortable and quiet. Never a problem to get a lounge chair at the beach or by one of the two pools. The standard rooms were large and came with full size fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and washer and dryer (w/d were not listed on the website, so happily surprised). Wifi throughout property, except beach. The resort is in the very center of Grace Bay beach between Club Med and Grace Bay Club – perfect for beach walks. It is about 3/4 mile from most of the dinning/shopping that are further west. It is only a 10-15 minute walk, but much better to walk along the beach and cut through the Ritz-Carlton than the brutal heat inland along the roads. Very quiet and relaxing.

This resort is so beautiful. I loved everything about it. We were in building 5 which was located by the quite pool and it was quite lol. The rooms were clean, we had a washer and dryer everything that we needed was in the room. We needed extra towel and wash clothes we were able to get it with no problem. We spent a lot of time at the resort restaurant around the bar area. The staff there was so nice and we had great services throughout or stay there. I would like to think Bert, Lovenjoy and Sherman and so others that I didn't get their names but would like to thank also for a wonderful stay. I would recommend this resort 100% and it's near (right up the block) from the casino and AZIZA which was great because we walked there.

This hotel was great, centrally located with nice comfortable rooms. But some of the staff really made our vacation! We would like to mention that Sherman, Bert and Lavengie were exceptionally personable and kind to us! We will not forget them! Sherman is SO happy and sweet he just makes your day. They were the nicest staff members and don’t miss happy hour from 5-7 50% off drinks, Bert and Lavengie make some wicked cocktails and they’re always smiling. We also met a lot of people that stayed here multiple times and said it was the best place to stay, we will definitely stay here again when we come back to Turks!

Pros: Overall, had an excellent experience at this resort. The other guests were quiet, the staff were always helpful, the access to the beach was amazing, washer/dryer unit, and the amount of space I got was an amazing value. Cons: little things such as one of our terraces not having a light (so no sitting outside at night), no small hand towels that we could use, no bathroom fans (self-explanatory), and an unfortunate amount of construction noise next door to our unit (perhaps the resort could have booked guest on opposite side). I would still consider staying at this resort, but it would be nice to see some of these improvements.
