Considering the remoteness of this lodge, they've done a wonderful job. The food is great; the staff is pleasant; there's always a beautiful view of something; within driving distance of many places of interest. They grow some vegetables on site.
The ladies shower room is lovely with each shower cleaned after each use. I did find, though, that the water seemed to be hotter in the showers to the right vs. those to the left. Some days there was a hairdryer for use; some days there was not. Signs are posted asking you to only use a hair dryer between 9am and 7pm due to demands on their wind and solar system.
Deluxe gers have their own sink and toilet. Convenient but outer gers have practically no water flow. Lighting in my ger was pretty good; lighting in others was practically non-existent. Be sure to pack a headlamp for walking to/from ger and other facilities in the night.
The bed was ok comfort-wise (most beds in Mongolia are rock hard). I disliked the felt rugs as my clothes kept picking up fur. Only have your fire lit at night if you plan to sleep in a sauna (mid summer stay).
Housekeeping service was extremely inconsistent. Some days you got hot water in a thermos, some not. Some gers got tea bags for the hot water, some not. Some gers have robes, some not. Couldn't get the toilet paper replaced the last 2 days no matter who I asked.
On a bright note, the laundry service was fast and good, albeit a little pricey. Staff lines up and waves you goodbye when you head out for the day and are there to open the vehicle doors when you return. Bar prices are a little high but there is good variety. Wine is sold by the bottle only, no single glass offerings.
Bikes are available for rent. There are some Mongolian craft items on offer in the reception area.
Make sure you walk up the hill behind the lodge for a great sunset view.
This lodge is owned by the same person as Nomadic Expeditions.

We drove forever it seemed like to get to this hotel, once getting there we couldn't believe our eyes, a city of Yurts!!!!! We had a beautiful room with a king sized bed, plus a wood stove that was full every evening and morning before getting up by the staff, we didn't even hear them in the room. The beds are top notch and so is the service. They even made delicious homemade bread at meals. It was a magical experience.

This is an ecolodge in the south Gobi Desert, about an hour's drive along unimproved dirt tracks from the airport. Rooms are individual gers, a subset of which have ensuite toilet/sink but shared showers; the majority of gers have no toilet facilities at all, and you have to use the shared toilets/sinks/showers located beneath the main lodge building. However, these shared facilities are spotless and constantly maintained. Because this is an ecolodge, power is generated by wind turbine, solar panel (and last resort, generator) which means it can sometimes fail. The ladies' room was lit by a single candle in the middle of all three nights I stayed here. The lights in the showers never worked (take your head lamp!). The food in the restaurant was fairly good although the breakfast buffet was so-so in terms of quality and selection. Although there are no electrical outlets in your ger, the restaurant has a charging station where you can recharge batteries and you are allowed to plug in a hairdryer (in the shower room) between 9 AM and 7 PM (due to solar power consumption). The staff are amazingly attentive, and run to meet your car when you arrive. They will come light a fire in your ger stove upon request, which makes the ger nice and toasty on cool nights. Beware the extra charges, however: I wandered into a musical performance in the main lodge building one night and was told at check out that I had to pay $15 for it, even though nothing had been posted or announced about a fee. There is plenty to see and do around the lodge, although none of the "roads" are improved and all are very rough dirt tracks that will make tough travel for anyone with a bad back.

We went to Three Camel Lodge at the beginning of our 2nd week in Mongolia. Having stayed at several basic and quite normal Ger camps - here we entered a slice of heaven. The Ger's with bath attached are almost magical - large, simplistic and elegant. The Dining Room - staff can not do enough for you, breakfast has a wide range of choices. Dinners are better then good. While we were part of a group - other friends of mine were staying there same time. The price reflects many things - from the construction, how remote it is (2 full days drive from UB or 80 min flight - air time from UB and a 1 hour drive), quality of services - bikes - given the location - not a cheap but fair. Activities included horse back riding, hiking, star gazing an so much more.I brought my own kite - winds were perfect. You'll be reminded how remote you are, no internet, very limited cell phone, checking out can be a slow process - just takes time. It's a treat - treat yourself!
