Great little hotel in Kampot. Very nice clean pool (a bonus as not many hotels have pools in Kampot). Close to everything, 6-8 minute walk along the river to the restaurant area.

Rooms are well equipped and modern. Cleaning mostly ok but some areas lack quality attention. Wifi was good (some reviews say it’s bad but I had no issue at all when I stayed). Breakfast was a set choice and was good. Only issue is if you want a late or cappuccino you have to pay extra for it, I have NEVER seen this in any hotel in my travels. Vile tasting Khmer coffee is free.

It’s a bit noisy at night due to a Cambodian karaoke bar across the road, but that’s not the hotels fault, and it never bothered me inside my room.

Overall a nice place and with a little more attention to cleaning and minor maintenance this place would be near the top of places to stay in Kampot. I will definitely stay here again😀.

At first look this hotel looked great. It was somewhat centrally located, was newly built, had an onsite restaurant, and very cold A/C. After the first night however I was able to experience the entire package, including breakfast the next day, and I was reminded that I was in a still developing hospitality industry which has a little ways to go to meet international standards.

I went back and forth whether I wanted to write this review - the staff at the hotel were very friendly and always super kind. After not being able to sleep for a few nights however on my multi-night stay due to other guests and the surrounding area, I thought I'd share my experience so that those booking and looking for a relaxing restful vacation would have all the info.

The good: the staff as said previously, the proximity to the river and central Kampot, the cleanliness of the rooms and pool, and the large trees which fill the courtyard.

The areas that could use improvement: The bathroom - the door to the bathroom's lock was missing so I had to jam a hand towel between the door and wall to get it to stay shut while utilizing it. The location - it's sandwiched between two busy streets, when trucks roll by the building actually sways and you hear the river road's bikes/motos/people/cars as they accelerate out of the turn, and the night clubs and riverside market which surround the property. The pool - swimming clearly starts at 8:00 am per the hotel's literature in the room. If you are a Khmer family with four screaming kids this apparently doesn't apply and they are free to scream their heads off at 6:00 am on multiple mornings. The breakfast - super clean, a few eggcentric options, and you don't have to wait too long after ordering. Bring your patience however as the staff don't remember that you like milk with your tea (I know it's small - but come on, each morning having to remind the staff to bring milk with the tea if staying multiple nights after they disappear after dropping it off?), and non-Khmer coffee is an extra charge which I thought was crazy given the price of the rooms and the cost of an instant packet (which also isn't replinished in the room). The internet - it's sometimes good and sometimes bad, mostly bad. I'm glad I had 4G on my phone which was again sometimes good and sometimes bad due to the hotels location. Check-in - during check-in I was given a room which smelt like someone just smoked a carton of cigarettes in it. I went down to the desk and stated that I'd like to be re-accommodated and was told that "folks to the North were just there and smoked in the room." The staff grabbed an aerosol bottle of air freshener and started walking towards the room. After understanding that I'd be staying in that room if they had their way, I reiterated my request of being re-accommodated. I was then told that "the folks to the North didn't respect the hotel." I then told them to please put me in a smoke free room - honey catches more flies right? I was then re-accomodated.

This hotel has a lot of potential and staying here could be a pleasant experience if you understand the issues above. I was looking for what their website said they offered - a more serene experience and I looked forward to enjoying the view of the Teuk Chhou River and the Bokor Mountain while relaxing in their beautiful garden or at the swimming pool.

Suggestions: Bring earplugs, your own coffee, and temper your expectations.

We stayed 4 nights (16/1 to 20/1) at this beautiful hotel in January 2020. My partner and I would like to say "Thank You" to the staff who looked after us whilst we were there. They helped us to make our holiday memorable and at ease by arranging drivers to Keb and to our hotel in Phnom Penh. In particular the gentleman at the front desk, a special "Thank You" for being so generous with your time. It was so nice to have you come out to the car to say good-bye.

I highly recommend this hotel and staff for a magnificent stay. We had such a lovely time swimming in the pool to cool off and the wonderful cocktails by the poolside. Their breakfast was great with the fruits coming straight from the owners farm! We also had dinners at the hotel when we were too tired to go out. On both of these occasions the meals were just lovely. We would definitely be back at your hotel when we return to Kampot.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet. What we noticed is that a lot of the people staying there were middle aged.

We spent 3 nights at Pippali at the end of 2019 and thought it was exactly as advertised. It was busy but fairly tranquil even though it is close to the road. The room was well appointed and nice and quiet. We enjoyed the shady pool area in the heat of the day and never had a problem getting a lounger. Breakfast was simple but tasty. This was our second time in Kampot and even though we loved where we stayed the first time, they didn't have a pool, and we definitely enjoyed being able to cool down.
Location is also handy, a quick 10 minute walk along the riverfront to all the action.
We really like the hotel and the staff were lovely. Thanks for a great stay!

Seriously the worst hotel I have stayed in ever. The pool water was green (the staff said they had too many customers to clean it) everyone had itchy skin and sore eyes. We had to ask the staff for a cloth to clean the filthy tables as the Khmer staff stood and played and chatted to each other. The aircondioner rattled and spat out water all night. The bed was the hardest I have slept in after 40 years traveling extensively in Asia it felt like sleeping on a board, there were not enough pillow slips as they send them to the cleaner in the morning and wait until they are cleaned and hopefully ready later that day or the next day. Breakfast was cold and covered in flies. The wiring in the bedroom was exposed and dodgy. The bathrooms were small and cramped and mouldy. Happy hour took 45 minutes to get the first drink and 30 minutes to get the second and no one else was there for happy hour. The beer, cocktails and food is very expensive compared to better classes hotels and restaurants. Seriously think twice before staying at this hotel
