Our first stop in Morocco and the perfect antidote to a hectic Christmas! The gardens are beautiful are peaceful. Although some of the rooms could do with updating. The atmosphere in the bar and restaurant was perfect for a mountain stay- big open fires, comfy soft furnishings and warm Moroccan hospitality. We enjoyed a massage in the spa, a freezing dip in the outdoor pool and a 2 hour trek on horseback- all thoroughly enjoyable.
This was a stunning resort, in the High Atlas, but only about 70 mins drive from Marrakech airport (prob 90 mins if driving from downtown)
The room we had was very spacious and nicely decorated, with a nice outdoor area for evening drinks. We were in room 42 which shares a little pool with a few other rooms away from the main area.
Bar service is good, as was breakfast. And they provided ice buckets with beer to take to room, which was a nice touch.
Only main downside was the eating options are very limited and of course in because of the location there really is no other place to eat. Be especially wary if you are a vegetarian, though they did make some pasta and tomato sauce for my wife, but pretty basic.
Also the map of the local 6km walk you can do in the hills is just on a noticeboard in the lobby and you need to take a pic with your phone. The path itself is not very clear at all and after about 2km were were hopelessly lost and had to turn back. But you can hire guides, we were just too late arriving really.
The location itself is stunning, and the grounds beautiful, but with only having time for an overnight stay I wish we had longer.
Never saw such a rose garden, nested in the mountain. The hotel has a great service, lovely local food and beautiful mojitos cocktails ! The spa with indoor swimming pool and jaccuzzi offers the most beautiful massages and facials. Lots of activities to do : we did a tour on electric moutain bikes that was spectacular, and there are horses too. We really had an incredible time there!
Hidden and beautifully camoflaged in the mountains, this hotel does not disappoint.
The rooms are charming and efficiently controlled our temperature; the pools are excellent as they are deep and a good size; the gardens are exceptional!; the staff were not just friendly and helpful but were also good fun. We did not want for anything.
I had read the food was not a highlight but we found portions to be a perfect size and the quality was very food.
If you go for a walk, a GPS is helpful if you go too far 😎.
I would and have already recommended this paradise to others and will be back.
This hotel in Ouirgane is situated in the High Atlas mountains in the heart of the Toubkal National Park at about 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) above sea level. Magnificent gardens welcome the guests to hikes in the premises or in the adjacent old village.
The staff is very friendly, food is ok -not special- and the fireplace in the restaurant and the artwork is great. The room we had, was well appointed and big with a huge bed.
Relax by the pool and enjoy a couple of days away from the big cities.
