The staff was very friendly and helpful. The lady at the desk even helped me plot out some other places to see in southern New Hampshire. The view of the Sugar River from our room was beautiful. There is a bridge near the hotel that leads to some stairs that will take you to a visitors' center.
We arrived late and left the next morning. Did not have an opportunity to try the restaurant, but I read it had good reviews. We'll have to try it on our next trip up to the area.
The staff were extremely friendly, both at night and in the morning.
Hotel is located behind the city's traffic circle, if you want to call it that. There appeared to be some parking in the front of the hotel, but there is a small amount of parking around the rear of the building.
It's right on a river with a man-made waterfall. Makes for a nice water sound, I'm assuming, if you open the windows in the evening during warmer weather.
The bed was soft with a feather top and lots of pillows to use.
The room was very clean, which is the first thing I look at and would complain about. Nothing to complain about here!!! If there were any negatives, it was that one light bulb didn't work in a bed-side lamp and I was stuck in the leg with a feather stem that was sticking out of the bed topper. LOL I had to laugh at that!
The bulb didn't matter since we went to bed right away anyway. Reminds me...I forgot to mention the bulb at checkout!
We purchased two warm hoodies from the lobby and the lady behind the counter did her best to find exactly the size my wife was looking for. When it was found that it wasn't in stock in the color she wanted, she offered to take our name and number to get in touch with us as soon as the new order is received. Again, extremely nice and professional, while personally engaged and interested in us.
Since we are going to be coming back up into the area for a property investment opportunity, we plan on returning to this hotel for a repeat stay.
Stayed here ten days ago. Very interesting site. Reuse of the old mill makes it a visual treat. Views out the back window over the creek would be very interesting in warmer weather. Floors are wood with rugs but not cold. Room was quite large. Bed was high an d a bit softer than I like. Made it look like an old fashion feather bed. Bathroom was quite adequate. Tub/shower a bit narrow and no grab bars! People have missed them to,as the towel bar next tot he shower was coming out of the wall. Otherwise I didn't notice any shortcomings. Passage to the restaurant is out doors over a private covered path. Could be a nuisance in really cold weather, but the breakfast provided was quite adequate and in side the hotel lobby.
fabulous architectural details from the mill era. Cozy too. The free breakfast was good, bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches even though only billed as continental. Nice staff, clean rooms, interesting furniture. A tiny improvement would be to have more available outlets at the desk in the room (as in at least some). Great location on the Sugar River
We've been coming here for years. We have always loved this place. Very clean and the staff was always very accommodating. This visit was different. The cleaning staff was shorthanded, so we were a little delayed getting into our room. The bathroom wasn't very clean when we did get in, but figured it would be cleaned the next day while we skied. It wasn't, they never cleaned our room. I asked to put a couple items from the gift shop on our room, as I've done in the past, they said they couldn't, cash only. Service at the restaurant was slow, but food was good. I miss having breakfast in the restaurant like they used too. Having it in the lobby isn't nearly as nice. They used to always have the fireplace in the lobby running, but it wasn't on while we were there, so just missing some of the charm that we used to enjoy.
