The hotel is tucked out of the way, very discreet and the rooms all very nice. There is a swimming pool. The personnel is very attentionate and caters to your needs with the famous Sri Lankan smile. There are not many rooms or guests so it's like home away from home. No noise and pollution fron downtown with lots of stores around.
International food was served as well as original Sri Lanka breakfast. It was both very tasty.
The rooms are clean, new and big.
Especially the staff was great, they treated us very well. They always asked if we had some wishes and they have been very friendly. Helped us to carry our bags without our request.
We could have extra drinks in the evening when we asked for it.
They helped us to contact a driver.
Everybody communicates in English.
We got advice for good vacacion places and beaches and we had some very nice conversations with the staff and the owner.
We had a Pool, the Hotel is at a very idyllic place.
Enjoy it! Great place to be in Sri Lanka.
We (4 persons from Germany) stayed 6 days/nights at Villa Escondite - a perfect place for planning your journey and travel through Sri Lanka in our opinion. All the rooms were air conditioned, really quiet and clean. We felt safe, the staff was very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was good, the pool a nice refreshment.

Rooms Are clean
We spent 3 wonderful and relaxing nights at Villa Escondite before we started our wildlife tour throughout southern Sri Lanka. We arrived quite late from Delhi, and Rumani, the assistant manager, greeted us with a smile and a refreshing iced washcloth. Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated in a very quiet setting. There is a spacious sitting room off the pool area, and one can either dine right by the pool or on the large roof top area with a view of the surrounding area. Deepal, the manager, is both very friendly and a very knowledgeable bird enthusiast. He spent a lot of time pointing out the many local and migrating birds as they flew over the hotel. He also took me out one morning to two sites with many many local and migrating birds. So, for bird enthusiasts, one could not ask for a better host and setting while in Colombo. Deepal organized a tour of Colombo via a Tuk Tuk ride, and that was quite an adventure. The whole staff is charming, friendly and helpful, and the food was superb and cooked to order. We highly recommend a stay here!
