We had the pleasure of staying at the La Casa de Barro lodge for two nights as we visited Chinchero and the surrounding areas of Salineras and Moray. The lodge is located off the main street that runs through Chinchero and is within walking distance to the market and the Chinchero ruins. Our room was spacious and clean with comfortable beds and a bathroom with good water pressure. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and always served with a smile. Many thanks to this family operated business for making our visit comfortable and relaxing.

Antonio and staff, thank you for making our stay in Chinchero an absolute pleasure. The room was comfortable and spacious, bed really nice. Shower had great pressure too!

Our breakfast and lunch the following day were both great, and the location to the Chinchero ruins and Sunday market easily walkable, and very safe!

We would absolutely recommend anyone that wants to visit a quiet but cultural town high in the Andes to stay here.

Backstory - we had some hotel problems in Chinchero, which resulted in us having nowhere to stay for a night. We frantically searched for somewhere to to stay and thankfully stumbled across this absolute gem. Antonio was helpful our entire stay and even put up with our Spanish, which was nice!

What a great place to stay in this untouristy little town! The family that owns and runs the place is wonderful and makes satisfying meals for guests in the lovely dining room (we had breakfast and dinner). Our room was upstairs from the front entry, and it was comfortable and quiet. We did need a space heater for the night, as it was chilly at this high elevation, but that was fine. The bathroom was clean and nice, with a tub and shower. The grounds were lovely, and the whole place felt relaxing. I definitely recommend it.

Our taxi driver took us here for lunch and it was one of our best meals in Peru! The lomo saltado was amazing! The service was wonderful and the dining room surrounded by beautiful well-cared for gardens. I would highly recommend!!! We didn't stay here overnight so I can't comment on the hotel, but the restaurant was great!

Stopped here after the usual 3 sites in area. Pleasant room and a nice lunch. Three started with chicken crepes which were nice but the best starter was the Cause de Pescado an organic potato based dish with Tuna. Main course we had 1 local trout in creole sauce and 3 beef in garlic and white wine sauce. All delicious. Dessert we all had Passion Fruit moose. A lovely meal.
