This was a trip to remember! We were in a cabin on the lagoon, identified as the
"honeymoon suite". It was just the right size for the occasion. I got rid of my shoes almost immediately, still can't find them. The staff was the best!!! The meals were to die for! Ms. Carmen just could not miss with any of the food she, and her daughter prepared... We swam, splashed and drank our favorite cocktails. We had the pleasure of the owners arriving later the day we arrived, and it was like one big happy family gathering.. They were as much into having fun and enjoying the experience as much as us. I have so many great things to say about this visit.. I am ready to go back today if I had the opportunity. It was THE BEST TIME, EVER!
THis hotel is one of the most amazing places we have ever been to. This island is so tiny (you can swim or kayak around the whole island, walk from one end to the other in about 2 minutes...). The man who runs it and all of the staff are so great. They are friendly, kind and helpful. You walk out of your room and can immediately start snorkeling. They have glass bottom kayaks which are so fun, regular kayaks, snorkeling gear, paddle boards.... The food they make is so yummy! If you really want to get away from it all and go relax in a tropical paradise, this is the place to go!!
I wonder why there are no comments since July 2017....
Great island with beautiful beaches and great for snorkeling. Besides the rented out places are a number of very run down buildings away from the beach, you have to take this into account. People in general are very friendly, we just had a very bad surprise with Joe Jo’s, that a number of rooms we had reserved for a larger party were confirmed by the owner but were not available upon arrival. No apologies offered by the owner, we felt cheated and actually we were. Some of the guests came as far as Europe. The food served at Joe Jo‘s was very average.
Some of the group were staying at Reef’s End, they also were great in helping out as we had the room problems at Joe Jo‘s. Reefs End I can highly recommended, the food is really great and you can enjoy it on a porch right by the water. Great quality and super friendly and helpful staff and specially the owner is very customer focused and will go out of his way to help you. What a difference to Joe Jo’s, they will never see us again.
So did not know that this type of place exists where you can truly get a way from it all. After 30 minute boat ride from Dangriga we arrived at Tobacco Caye and after a 2 minute walk. Heaven pretty room over looking the reef with the sound of the water and cooling breezes coming into the room. The sunset was amazing and the sunrise must not be missed.
Food was fresh and totally amazing. Did not want to leave.
We just returned from a week at Joe Jo's on Tobacco Caye and it was a wonderful experience! Louis was very helpful in arranging all of our plans. We showed up with a family of 5 and Carmen and David treated us as their own family. We were there through two birthdays and they made us a great cake and a feast of a meal to celebrate. My boys are grown men who eat more than most and Carmen always made sure that we all had more than enough of her great home cooking to eat.
The entire village is very peaceful and everyone is friendly. We checked out other accommodations while we were there just to see what they were like and Joe Jo's beat all of them hands down. Since the island is literally on top of the reef, fantastic snorkeling was only feet away from the room and diving was excellent.
Joe Jo's has kayaks, paddle boards, and all sorts of water sports equipment to use during your stay. Since we were there in late August, the weather was warm with high humidity as expected, but there was always a breeze and shade.
Overall an outstanding experience and we'll definitely be back.
