The hotel is situated in a quiet area between the sea and the lagoon.
It has about 12 rooms, a dining area and a pool area. You have direct access to the sea. There are also some small shops where you can buy cookies or water. Otherwise there are several hotels nearby and a restaurant. The rooms are very spacious and clean.
There is a menu for lunch and dinner. Often dishes on the menu are not available and sometimes dishes are served although some ingredients are missing. The menu is not very extensive and also the food was often served cold. The portions are sometimes really small.
You need a lot of patience for the meals, because the preparation of the food often takes hours. What also would have been a good information for the beginning that the breakfast is served in courses. First a small fruit plate, egg dish, toast and finally a sweet dish. We partly sat for 2 hours during the breakfast. Which is definitely too long if one plans an excursion.
The next mystery was that we had to change our room after the first night. We had booked 2 nights in advance and had noticed during the trip that one night was missing. Fortunately there was a room available for the missing night. We were told that guests would arrive and that we would have to move to another room. So after the first night we packed our things and moved into another room. Today, the third day, our old room was still not occupied by other guests. It is empty.
All in all a nice well-kept complex but I would only recommend the hotel if you have a lot of patience. I would not come here with children
We got a welcome king count. The beach was clean and very calm. We saw a nice sunset. We had half board. The à la carte dinner was good and included a free non-alcoholic drink. The service was ok. The room was very big and included a couch. The hotel is very calm but is outlying.
Upon arrival we were warmed welcomed by Viktoria who served us a cool coconut drink and upgraded our room. The room was spacious, clean and beautiful with a big balcony. The staff and the owners gave us excellent service and did all they could to make our stay memorable. The owner, Anna, even made me a tasteful birthday cake. The hotel is located close to a magnificent, unspoiled and lonely beach where we could walk for hours. We hope to come back, and we can highly recommend the hotel.
Loved Green Parrot Hotel! It is beautiful and located in a super quiet area just in front of the most beautiful beach that even in the peak season is empty!
The hotel is beautiful, with a pool facing the palm trees & the beach, a nice open air restaurant and private car park.
Our room has amazing views to the lagoon at one side and to the sea at the other, and two different balconies! Amazing! It is a huge room with a super big and comfy bed and a great bathroom.
Wifi is great, which is not easy to find in Sri Lanka and food is pretty good too! Breakfast consists of a choice of eggs, pancakes, toasts.. fresh fruit or fresh fruit juice, tea or coffee. And lunch/dinner menu is varied :)
It is a perfect place to spend a few days by the beach and relax. Would stay here longer!!
We enjoyed 5 nights at Green Parrot in its peaceful surroundings. They have very large clean bedrooms and ensuites with fridges and air-con (a/c didn’t work one night and boy we realised we needed it!) Lovely clean well kept pool and very good food served by friendly staff - thanks Vishwas & Dinesh! We enjoyed watching the fishermen haul in their nets on the beach (beach so far not too plasticky hope it doesn’t deteriorate) and trying other little very local restaurants within walking distance. Abundant bird life in water area ...so many different types! WiFi only works in dining room area but thoroughly recommend Green Parrot for restful stay in luxury.
