Once you enter you immediately feels like you are transported to a calm, zen like oasis. It is stripped down of any touristy cliches and triteness. Lina Ryad is very much along the vein of any luxury (yet laid-back) getaways you'd find in the US and Europe, where staff is knowledgeable, attentive, friendly but never over-zealous and intrusive. For breakfast and dinner you have the choice of dining in the roof-top terrace or in the lobby lounge area. Private pool/ hammam area is by reservation only so you can enjoy it all to yourselves, or with a loved one.
The staff should be highly commended for their all around efforts to make our stay amazing. They went above and beyond to make a 50th birthday trip of the three of us into a life time cherished memory.
Houda, Hanae, Radia, Bahija, Wiam and Abdrabhim were all friendly, professional, kind, extraordinary hosts. The hotel has so many unique rooms and floors. We ate in twice on a roof top deck, great food, lovely mint tea and all the touches that make a difference. They helped with arranging our transportation (you cannot drive here!) They helped with questions navigating the local stores, crafts and restaurants. The hammam and pool were amazing. I can't highly recommend enough. The breakfast was stunning and very filling.
Exciting arrival dropped in a busy street. Follow the hotel guy through the busy market in the Medina. So many sights and smells.
Wish I had videoed. Up some narrow walkways and here we are in Lina.
Calm soothing and really a hidden gem.
Great rooms with amazing views.
Wonderful staff and great breakfast.
Pool better to book so you have a private time.
And finally we arranged a simple magical dinner on the roof terrace.
The whole town reverberates when prayers are called in a wonderful way.
Wish we had stayed longer and had time to walk in the mountains.
Beautiful riad, good location, friendly staff and delicious food. But terribly noisy room resulting in very little sleep! Room 4, up several flights of stairs (no elevator), has two sets of double windows onto the “courtyard" with its indoor pool (which, oddly, requires a reservation to use). Voices from those in the pool echo up so every word is amplified even through closed windows. The one small window to the outside faces a wall (no view). Leaving that open for fresh air meant noise from the street including a half hour of prayers at 3:45AM. Superb chicken and vegetable tagines, unfortunately only served in the lobby instead of on the roof with the view. No phone in the room to call the front desk, no cell phone reception in my room and spotty internet connection there as well. Not recommended.
Chefchaouen is a very authentic village and Lina Ryad is well located. We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very clean and comfortable. A little noisy, voices and pool noise echo up the central courtyard area and it is difficult to shut out unless you don't want any fresh air. Lovely views from roof top terrace. If you don't mind going up a lot of stairs ask for a top floor room. Staff friendly, very helpful and have excellent english.
