Beautiful old hotel, decked out for the holiday. My corner room was spacious, bed was comfortable, and hardly heard outside noise. Staff was super welcoming and the bar was beautiful with live music for both nights of my stay. Location is perfect for checking out the 6th street music/comedy scene. Hope to revisit soon

My wife and I were celebrating our 15 year Anniversary. The staff took it upon themselves to present my wife and I flowers, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and a hand written letter upon arrival to our room. This was an excellent surprise. The staff was professional and prompt. The hotel has held on to its traditional style ( with modern technology) and it is BEAUTIFUL. The Driskell staff and hotel made our 15 year anniversary a memorable and beautiful occasion.

I've never had such a unique experience at a hotel. It was distinctly "Texan" with an old fashioned sense of hospitality. The hotel is so handsome and stately it almost instantly commands your respect.

The staff was incredible and kind and happy to share any bit of information with us. One young man at the front desk did me the kind favor of taking care of a shirt that got a stain and not charging for laundry service. We stayed 4 nights and service was consistent and pleasant.

The bed was comfortable, room was spotless, water in shower was hot and noise was never an issue. There's a lot of neat art and furniture placed around the hotel so it was fun to walk around and get familiarized with the hotel. The bar was exciting, the restaurant seemed to be quite busy over the weekend (we didn't get a chance to try it) and the location was perfect as it's right off of 6th Street.

I would highly recommend the Driskill to anyone in Austin. Its location is great but the service and one-of-a-kind setting is what sets it apart from anything else. I cannot wait to go back.

Stayed at the Driskell in late Dec., 2005. I had last stayed there about 10 years ago. It was shabby and way past it's prime. No longer. The building has gone through a total renovation, and it's a terrific piece of work. The lobby is spectacular, and they've kept the quirky room layout (mine had 12 foot ceilings) while modernizing all the amenities. The bar and lounge are very inviting, and the hotel now has one of the best restaurants in Austin. Very highly recommended for price and quality.

There’s staircase that leads up to the roof. Not sure what it was or if it was just all the girly-ness of a bunch of girls but that staircase was freaky and chilly.

My room had a regular tub/shower combination but I was in a standard room type so as the other reviewer stated, probably best to reach out to your travel agent or directly with the hotel.

I think they have different configurations of the suites. There is a newer section of the hotel and an older one. The junior suite we had was one room with a king bed and couch, coffee table and two chairs in the same room. We were in the old part of the hotel. You walked through the "dressing area/closet to get to the bathroom.
