There probably is a gym there, but it might be hidden in one of the towers & might not be accessible. Good luck.

We spent three days at the Trop for a quick girls getaway. We stayed in the newly renovated North Tower and the rooms were very nice. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious with large showers. I don't think they renovated the other towers yet. I have stayed at the Havana tower which is convenient to the quarter but the rooms haven't been renovated yet.

There was a lot going to do for any age. There was live music at Tangos and we loved the disco Boogey Nights which played great music from the 80's. We rented beach chairs and had a great time on the beach. The pool was crowded with children but had a lot of chairs. There are tons of restaurants with plenty of choices.

I also went to the gym and for $10 took spin classes, which were pretty advanced. The gym was very nice with new equipment.

For a quick getaway the Trop is great.

Just got back from a 3 1/2 day stay at the Tropicana. We were in a suite in the Havana Tower in The Quarter- which I was told had the most updated rooms. The room was very roomy, but the carpet had holes in it and was stained. There was a large hole in one of the walls. The coffeemaker in the room was broken. I let this be known twice (I'm a big "first thing in the morning" coffee drinker) but at check out this morning it was still broken. Each morning I had to get up and go down an elevator and then an escalator to buy a cup or two! There are no information packets in the rooms, so we tried calling customer services to have our questions answered (i.e where is the indoor pool, the outside pool, do we need towels, how do we hook up to internet, where is the fitness center etc.) After SEVERAL calls on the first 2 days, we gave up. No one answers the phones!! At the outdoor pool, which is VERY small for such a large resort, there are several lounge chairs but only about 10 umbrellas. In this day and age of various skin cancers, there should be umbrellas located at every 2-3 chairs. The fitness center charges $10 a day, again, most resorts offer their fitness center free to registered guests. The fitness center is small and outdated! You need to walk a ways to get to either. The outdoor pool is in the North Tower, the Fitness Center & Indoor pool is in the South Tower. It would be very convenient if each tower had its own pool and fitness area. On the positive side- we had no problem with check-in or checkout. The staff are friendly but most do not have the answers to questions. If you do go to the Trop or to any resort nearby I would strongely suggest seeing Kozak, the Magican at the Comedy Store in the Tropicana. You can opt to only see the show or to have dinner & show (which we did- food so-so). He is AMAZING!!!! Truly worth the $20 tickets. We ate at The Palm, Cuba Libre and The Continental ( in the pier mall). All were excellent. Next time we will stay at one of the newer casinos.

My Fiance' and I made reservations on expedia and prepaid for our trip. When i found out i would be getting to the hotel late i called at 8pm to let them know i would need late check in and they asked me when i would be arriving. I told them after midnight and they said no problem. Upon arriving to the hotel the front desk agent was VERY rude and nasty with us and told us they had no rooms. when i told her i made a reservation ahead of time and we prepaid she wen to speak to her manager and came back and said she would give us a room to stay in for that night with 2 double beds (which is NOT what we paid for. he paid for a king size nonsmoking room) and we would have to move the next day. SHe said they never guartentee rooms after 10pm and thats there policy. i asked why the guest service rep didnt explain that at 8pm when i called and she said she didnt know. she was very rude and cold and then the manager came out and was ever ruder. the rooms are very outdate and the beds were very uncomfortable. they charge to use the gym and indoor which are both SUBPAR and outdated.

the hotel restaurants and the quarter are beautiful but i would NOT stay there again based on the disgusting rooms and nasty staff.

My family and I got back from the Tropicana hotel and casino a few hours ago. We had a great time. The casino was huge and great. New Jersey permits smoking indoors so there were smoking and smoke free casinos. The pool is very nice and the gym was good. There was a whirlpool for guest 18 and older. The pool was crowded though. If a child was like to swim in the indoor pool, an adult must be with the child. There are locker rooms and saunas. The pool is in the south tower which was annoying because the south tower is the oldest and crumiest. The restaurants were okay. The rooms were nice but the beds didn't have fitting sheets. When I called house keeping, they said they don't use fitting sheets. The west tower was very far away from everything else so you had a to walk through a long walk in the quarter which was a shopping and restaurant area designed like a cuban street. The Havana tower was also far from everything else. The hotel was very bad about charges. they tryed to charge us for so much we were suppost to get free. They also tryed to charge us more for our room so we had to fight with them to lower the price. Overall, I had a good and fun experiance but it could have been better.

We stayed at the Trop because we had tix to their showroom event.

Stayed in the North Tower, 11th floor, King bed. This tower has the newly renovated rooms. Lighting in bed & bath were excellent, furnishings were functional and in very good condition. A/C was quiet and efficient. Bath had shower-only with modern fixtures, large vanity. It was worth the additional rate to get this room ($50 more/night).
The Showroom is in this tower. The elevator stops right near the Showroom entrance - very convenient.

As other reviews stated: 1) property is HUGE - they need to give guests a concise layout of the resort. We had to ask staff throughout our stay to find restaurants/showroom/boardwalk/our parking lot; 2) Everyone had a great attitude;3) self-contained resort with everything you need. From quick bites to gourmet meals; 4) Insanely huge gym/wellness facility (affiliated with regional hospital network).

Free wifi was excellent.

The buffet: it was just ok. Not affecting my rating (we did not stay at the Trop for the buffet). I had steamed mussels and chilled shrimp (both were good). Wife only eats fish - nothing for her except salad with shredded cheddar. She doesn't eat flounder in a cream sauce. No fresh fruit (canned); instant iced tea. But, great coffee. $28 pp (ouch!). Next time, we would go to Seaside Café.
