The hotel is very clean, the staff exceptionally helpful. A pretty seating area through the middle and small but lovely swimming pool. The breakfast options are plentiful with juices, fry station, local cuisine, pastries, cereals and fruit. Nice cool bar and great happy hour from 18:00-20:00. The rooms are a good size with hot powerful showers and baths, room safe, with robes and slippers provided. Also tea and coffee making facilities. Do take a tuk tuk ride to Pub Street for $3 for the experience. Placed within easy reach of the Angkor Wat complex.

We recently stayed at this hotel with my grandparents who were over the moon to see it only had 4 floors as they do not like heights. The room was spacious and clean however would have liked to be able to get out onto the balcony but doors were locked and a big step to get out if you could. The room had everything you needed and was restocked daily. The only issue we had in the room was on our first morning we had a power cut and everything went off but this was quickly rectified. The pool area was nice although small but was plenty spaces to sit particularly before 1pm. Hotel well situated between temples and airport and only a $3 tuk tuk ride to most places-old market, restaurants, night market ect. Hotel food nice but a bit more pricey compared to rest of Asia. Breakfast ok but nothing special. Staff lovely and pleasant and very helpful. Good wifi also all over the hotel. Nice hotel in good location and I feel the area will be developed in close future meaning even more things to do in the area. Thankyou! We would return.

Staying at Tara Angkor and am delighted with the hotel. Our first room had a noise and on telling the staff about it, we were immediately moved and the next day we were given a letter of apology and a basket of fruit which I thought was very nice. Staff are all so friendly and food is excellent.

Arrived tired after travelling for over 1 day and was given a double (smokey) room at the front of the hotel not the twin in a quiet location requested. Reception initially said a twin was not available but after a few minutes found one which was perfect. The bathroom was a bit small but with all you could want and the most comfortable bedroom slippers provided to use (but not take away). Beds were very comfortable and queen size and there was adequate wardrobe space. Excellent selection at breakfast and eating outside in the courtyard was a bonus. Just a short tuk-tuk ride to the temples, Pub Street and the surrounding area which was buzzing. Loved Siem Reap and this hotel.

We stayed here for four nights.
On the plus side the staff are very friendly, the room was a good size, the wifi provision good and the internal courtyard was very atmospheric.
On the minus side many of the staff were novices with little evident support from more experienced colleagues - willing but not very professional.
Breakfast was the bland offering common to many hotels relying on tour companies and this hotel definitely fitted that bill.
The food in the evening was OK when you stuck to burghers/pizza/pasta dishes. One night we tried the Australian T Bone & Fillet which were not a good advertisement for the Continent so we went back to the pasta! The very young waitress asked if it was OK and we said no but no one else came to enquire what the problem was.
The wine choice was limited and expensive for what it was. Also the various waiters & waitresses had no idea how to pull the cork; in fact one more frustrated guest finally took the bottle from them.
The location is a bit out of the way so it means battling the heat or staying put. We did the latter as it was the start of our vacation and tiredness definitely crept in with the time difference & heat.

Hi Bob.
I think you meant to send the question to the hotel but Trip Advisor has sent it to me, a past reviewer instead. For what it is worth, we have stayed there a few times over the years, and we always ask when we book for a room facing in to the courtyard / swimming pool, as that is quieter - and they have always accommodated our request.
That said, the road outside is not too busy at night, so traffic noise would not be too bad; it's a bit busier in the morning as it is on a main route to the entrance to the national park, but you'll want to be up early yourselves, to get as much sight-seeing done before it gets too hot in the midday sun.
I hope you get a clear morning for the sunrise. We were lucky last year - on our fourth trip to Angkor Wat we finally got a clear sunrise, and it was incredible - but you need to arrive early not to be at the back of the crowd!
It's one of our favourite destinations in the world - and be sure to go to Viroths restaurant for dinner one evening - fantastic food and value!
Good luck.
Richard.
