Cambodian for "Elephant" the Damrei Hotel was surprisingly a good place to stay.

Very close to the centre of town just far enough to either catch a tuk tuk or even walk. A few local bars and restaurants nearby with the best bring Palate on a nearby corner.

The hotel is only a few years old with well kept grounds and nice but average rooms. Small balcony but we didn't spend much time out there anyway.

Away from the big fancy shmancy hotels which are quite far from the "real" Siem Reap. Here you're close to small businesses and homes of the locals. You walk across the street and get your laundry done by a local which was cheap and good.

The staff were lovely all around the hotel from checking in and out, to the breakfast and restaurant and pool side.

Breakfast was good and catered to western and eastern tastes. Fresh made omelettes were always on hand and surprise sweets like crepes or pancakes were good for a naughty breakfast day.

Poolside nibbles it lunch were OK too. Cocktails by the pool were average but I'm quite fussy :)

Cupboards were a little small as I'm the type who fully unpacks - everything

Free wifi and airport shuttle were all good extras.

Recommend if you're interested in getting away from major "touristy" areas and loud hotels but still meeting people by the pool.

We recently stayed 3 nights at this lovely hotel. Our room was large with a very comfortable bed. The shower was also very good. It was lovely to have a balcony with views of the pool. The only downside was the smell from the neighbouring crocodile farm but I believe that is moving soon. The location was ok with nice restaurants nearby although it was a little bit removed from Pub Street but this made it nice and quiet and Tuk Tuk's were cheap and plentiful. Breakfast choices were lovely.

Great reception service with welcome drink and fruits. They pick me up in a bus station even after I changed the address twice because of a mistake from my bus company. Huge room, confortable bed and pillow. English channels on TV. They kindly package a breakfast at 4am for my day tour. Good breakfast and nice staffs. I booked the Superior King Room they upgrade to Deluxe Double Room with Balcony and view to the pool.
Noisy place in the neighboorhood starting loud sounds around 6am (not everyday)

wow! all staff at this hotel was very friendly and helpful. room was clean, beautiful and with balcony. we were 3 person for 4nights and at first they wanted to charge $20 for an extra bed which is correct because we knew that already when we book at booking.com. but we ask to put the beds together so we dont need to have an extra bed. they did it immediatly and they were always friendly to us.

breakfast was great too. they offer fruits, toast, ham (sometimes), pancakes, noodle soups, eggs, porridge, juices, coffee, tea, vegetables, ... we had dinner there sometimes too, because it was good and cheaper than having lunch/dinner in restaurant out there for tourists.

they offer many tours as well. i would definetly recommend this place to stay.
