The actual hotel was great and it hurts me to write a review two notches lower than I would've but we had a really bad experience when we booked a tour through this hotel. We booked a full day private car sunrise tour of Angkor Archaelogical Park through Damrei Angkor Hotel for $45 USD all agreed upon through email. On the actual day of the tour, our driver was very uncooperative. Not only did he not speak English, which made communicating which temples we wanted to see very difficult, but he also refused to drive us to Banteay Srei, a temple located 30 km away. He got another tuk tuk driver who spoke English to tell us that he wanted to charge us an additional $30 USD to drive there. We were happy to pay for gas but $30 USD was exorbitant. When we refused, he told us that he would drive us back to the hotel because the tour was over, since we had seen the three main temples. That's when he chose to tell us about the Short Circuit Tour versus the Long Circuit Tour. We had no idea what this meant as our hotel did not mention anything about this. From our understanding, we had the Long Circuit Tour, since the cost was $45 for a full day. After this argument, which felt more like an attack, our day was ruined. We did not travel all the way from Canada to end up not seeing Banteay Srei. I don't understand how a driver could be so unwilling to drive us to the temples around the park. Each request was met with eye rolling and an exasperated sigh. Such an unpleasant experience. There is clearly a miscommunication between the hotel and the drivers. I would like the hotel to improve its communication with the drivers to avoid this situation from happening to other travelers. Immediately after the tour, we spoke to the front desk, but they didn't seem to fully understand since their English wasn't good. The manager instead tried to get us to forget about the situation by redirecting our attention elsewhere.

In terms of the actual hotel, all the rooms and amenities were new, so we felt very comfortable in the rooms. The shower was heavenly. It was very modern and we felt like we were at home. They gave us free water bottles. There is also a fridge to store food. The room itself was quite large and spacious. The staff are very nice. They are helpful even if their English isn't the best. The welcome drink was also delicious! We found ourselves wanting more. Beware of the hallways leading up to the rooms. These hallways are outside and littered with bugs on the walls. Make sure you go in and out of the rooms quickly to avoid letting the bugs inside the rooms.

We were made to feel so very welcome from the free airport pick up to our welcome drink and then being shown to our room.

The guy who checked us in and showed us around, also was there on our last day and he couldn't have been more helpful and attentive.
I believe his name was Cheng Huy - such a credit to a beautiful hotel.

The staff were all so very friendly and really made us feel so very welcome, from holding doors open and knowing us by name each time, asking how we were and offering help and advice about things to see and do.

I really can NOT recommend this hotel enough, it was an amazing stay and we WILL be back!!

I did read the reviews on trip advisor reading the neighbouring crocodile farm, I have to say, this didn't cause us any issues at all, no noise or smell issues as some people have commented.

The breakfast selection was perfect and the room was lovely to a very high standard.

Book this place and don't worry, it is A grade 5 star service.
Thank you so much for making our first trip to Cambodia a very memorable one, we will be back!!

Room Tip: Get yourself Tuk-Tuk or metered taxi back to the airport as the hotel offering is a little pricy...

This is a great hotel and lived up to our expectation. Great breakfast, pool, room and grounds. We would highly recommend staying here.
Only problems was the wi-fi wouldn't work in our room for about half our stay, we had to go to the restaurant to make it work. Also, the hotel is about 15-minute walk from the centre of Siem Reap.
It's US$7 from the airport if you use the taxi service and they put you in a car, I would try to flag down one of the tuk-tuks dropping someone off and get it cheaper. Also, there are always tuk-tuks parked out the front of the hotel, they will do all the same tours the hotel offers for a cheaper price.
