Location: Located at the town of Siem Reap, accessible to most of the landmark I.e. Pub Street, Psar Cha old market, Angkor Night Market, Cafe, street food, convenient store, spa etc.

Room: 3 single bedroom. Room abit old but decent with sufficient space for 3 pax. Toiletries were provided. Cleanliness/ pest control can still improve as we have spotted lizard's feces all over the room (on bedsheet). Alley to rooms was rather dark.

Service: Excellent frontdesk team. They were really helpful when we asked them to get us to get a tuk tuk for 3 days tour in Angkor. Remember to request for Mr. TALL if you plan to travel on tuk tuk. He is very humble and helpful driver. We requested him everyday.

Food: Great variety of food for breakfast. Exceeded my expectations for the price paid. Try their local soup noodle! The broth was really good! You may request for your breakfast to packed if you plan to go for sunrise tour.

Facilities: Awesome roof top pool to chill after a long day from tour.

Overall: Will recommend and return to this hotel.

Tips: Tuk tuk drivers can be found at every corners in Siem Reap. If you get a good one, do stick to him for your travel. Try the streetfood stalls along the old market at night, cheaper and taste better!

A brilliant hotel only 5 mins stroll over the bridge in to the heart of Siem Reap and Pub Street/night market. The hotel is located right on the Siem Reap river, a lovely view from the hotel and several bridges to cross and explore. The hotel itself has a colonial look/feel but with modern facilities including WIFI zones, free internet screens on the ground floor, large rooms with balcony, air con and modern en-suites and a roof top pool and cocktail bar where you can order food. The hotel restaurant used for breakfast, lunch & dinner offers a great menu and we had one of the best "fish amok" here having compared to about 4 other places who claim to have the best. It is not a romantic restaurant but quality food and lunch for 2including drinks cost US 18 with drinks. The double room cost us US45 (28 pounds) a fantastic deal for this hotel, ok we are staying at the Conrad now in Bangkok there is no comparison BUT the value for money in the City River is amazing and the location perfect as you are in the centre but in a quiet location and having seen so many other hotels located away from the action needing long tuk tuk trips and overpriced, the City River offers quality and value. For fist time visitors to Cambodia, just take US dollars, everything and everywhere is priced in dollars even tuk tuk's and market stall holders, there is no market for the local currency outside Cambodia.

We just checked in and the room is lovely. No complaints, went to lunch/dinner down stairs, great food.

My mother and I went to their massage center for one hour oil massages, I had some little girl as my masseuse who just slid her hands over my body with no pressure at all, the "oil" she used was supper dry somehow where it didn't even feel like she used it (even though I heard all the splashing) after she slid her hands on each part of my body for the massage, she realized that she moved to quickly and had a lot of time to spare. So she ran out of the room for 5min before coming back to pet my head like a dog... at this time my mother's masseuse apparently ran out of the room as well and started vomiting. O give the massages here a 1/10.

This hotel helps orphans & families living in poverty & the hotel asks that guests are indulgent to their backgrounds & any 'failings'!

A clean & comfortable hotel with reasonable sized rooms with most mod cons. We had a standard room & it had no view, but not an issue as we had a busy sightseeing schedule! Everything was sparkling & clean although plain. Given the standard of the hotel, we were a little surprised that there were no tea & coffee making facilities but when I asked for a kettle the staff provided one straight away. Not a drama at all, but it was certainly a nice to have. We found the staff extremely responsive to our requests & eager to make a good impression. Breakfast is good & there is sufficient choice. On checking out, be aware that staff will ask you to remain while they check out the room before 'allowing' us to leave the hotel - this seems to be the norm in Cambodia, so don't take offence! The location is great, just a short walk across the river to the glittering bars, cafes & nightlife of central Siem Reap.
We would thoroughly recommend this hotel for the smiles on the faces of the staff & their eagerness to assist & practice their English! Such a good location.

What can I say about this hotel?

-Location-:
It's in a prime location along the river front in Siem Reap. It's only a 5 minute walk from 'pub street' and the night markets (or $1 on a tuktuk if you want). It's on the more 'local' side of the river, which also makes it a 5 minute walk from even cheaper (if you can believe it) restaurants and markets.

-Service-:
From the moment I arrived until the moment I left the service was impeccable - greeted with a cold towel and water, checked in within two minutes, and shown up to my room with no fuss. They even reconfirmed my return airport transfer with no fuss. By the pool side there was always someone ready to bring you a new drink, and in the restaurant I was outnumbered by helpful staff at a 4:1 ratio! Never had any issues with the room, so never had to call anyone. Put some laundry in one day (it's super cheap) and it was hung in my cupboard by dinner time.

-Room-:
For the price you pay, excellent. I opted for a deluxe room as it was only a few dollars more than a standard/night. Huge bathtub, super clean, aircon never noisy or too cold. TV had plenty of English channels. Safe worked fine. You get two complimentary bottles of water every day. Wifi was free, fast, and unlimited. Only things I'd look at for improvement - replace the toilet roll holder with something more subtle than the massive cylinders you likely find in a public bathroom. Also, a second chair or some sort of side table for the balcony might be nice.

-Breakfast-:
Included, and delicious. It's and about what you'd expect from a 3.5/4 star hotel. I've had better for sure, but I've also paid 5x more for the privilege. Decent variety, but I was they'd had bacon on more just one of the days. It's not a true holiday without breakfast buffet bacon!

-Pool!-:
Loved it. Great views around the city, as it's one of the taller buildings in it. You can see storms and deluges approaching in the distance. They've got a couple of nice lounges set up too (no extra cost). Travelling in the low season certainly has its perks!

-General-:
The staff were what really shone through here - no problems at all, coupled with attentive staff made for a memorable and excellent stay. Good work!
