We stayed two night here. The twin room was $40. Location and room are OK, but service was horrible.

Location - Not bad. Close from the central market but a bit far from Royal Palace, etc. You need to get a tuk-tuk to see them around.

Room - Not bad. Room was large and reasonably clean. Beds were a little bit hard, which is my favorite. There was no safety box.

Service - This was the problem. They would cheat you about prices of taxi and tuk-tuk. They asked us 150-200% of the market price. (That was right after we arrived at Phnom Penh so we did not know the market price would be yet.) Don't hire taxi and tuk-tuk here. Second, they did not place towels and shampoos. When we asked them over the phone, they replied "house keeping people are already out" and did not bring them, which I had never experienced.

Second time I have stayed in this hotel. Very well placed, close to Central Market and on main thoroughfare Monivong Boulevard. Also very close to Sorya shopping center with Lucky Supermarket, across from Central Market. Room apparently comes with breakfast but both times chose not to have breakfast at the hotel as I always eat breakfast at an establishment called The Shop which is to my liking. Very close to this hotel is a very trendy Internet cafe called Tout Les Jours. Very very modern and swish with breakfast and lots of good baked goods, across from Sorya shopping center. Front desk staff at this hotel seem respectful. Take rooms away from the Monivong side of Monivong Boulevard as Monivong is a VERY VERY busy thoroughfare, even in the early morning hours of the night and certainly during the daytime. Rooms are more or less basic, nothing fancy but comfortable, if a little smallish. I recommend this hotel if you are not too too concerned with lots of glitz. This hotel also caters to organized tour groups visiting Phnom Penh. Have been visiting Phnom Penh for more than THIRTY YEARS and know it quite well. Be VERY careful at night in Phnom Penh as I was once held up at gunpoint very close to this hotel on a Sunday evening at 9:45 PM, on a side street by three guys on two motor bikes, about ten years ago. Check US Government website called "OSAC" about security in Phnom Penh and Cambodia as a whole. Can be daunting but if you are careful and vigilant you should be OK. Try NOT to walk around once the sun goes down. Sounds somewhat negative but felt that you should know about the security situation in Phnom Penh and Cambodia as a whole. This of course has nothing to do with the Pacific Hotel which as I wrote is an OK place to stay and as I wrote, have recommended it to others for location and a basic sleep. Oh yeah, lots of hot water with good water pressure which is important to me. Manager is friendly and appears to be respectful.

This was a last minute booking for us and I could not find a hotel at the price I was looking in the Riverfront area. As such, it was never going to be an ideal choice. Still, the hotel was very clean, rooms and common areas, there was hot water 24 hours a days withgreat pressure from the shower and a very efficient individually controlled air-conditioning unit in the room. The breakfast was just awful.
While reception staff were friendly, there was a weird background feeling of hostility towards guests. eg, on checking in, the only thing that we were told was that we would be charged $20 if we lost the room key. The room is then littered with signs such as, "Do not use towels for cleaning shoes. Please ask at reception for special shoe cleaning equipment."
This hotel is never going to anybody's first choice, but it offers fair value for the price and is clean.

Overall ,it is a reasonably good hotel which I enjoyed staying. The rooms were clean and setup well.Rooms were spacious enough and the free breakfast is v.good.My room had a balcony from which a nice view of the road can be enjoyed.Staff on the whole good and helpful.I will say the location of the hotel is good with regard to shopping and travelling and the price is reasonable too.I will recommend this hotel without any hesitation to anybody.even the outward look of the hotel is attractive.

I am Dr Purna from India and bookes a room for 5 daya in this hotel. There are several cons and some pros for this hotel. The cons include 1) Please teach the reception staff to smile. They always bore a smug face 2) The English language skills should be improved for the staff 3) the hotel is beside the Monihong blvd. Even at midnights I can hear the traffic sounds continuously. To beat that I had to always keep the AC turned on to reduce the traffic sounds 4) the rooma are quite small. For the same price many new hotels have up.
The pros include 1) The location is convinient to access several places in PP
