we stayed here on our way through to saigon, excellent location and the breakfast was awesome with an equally awesome view, the room was large looked onto wall but so what we only sleep in the room, great air cond and the shower was great, staff very helpful and the tuk tuk drivers outside where good too, always ready for a laugh and take you some where new. Had a great pool to refresh in and looked like they where building new pool bar, would reccommend this one.

Although it is an older building it was still a very nice hotel, very close to the river to walk along at night and only a short walk to the night markets. the rooftop bar was awesome with a great view of the river and city, there is also 2 Jacuzzi's up there that are great to sit in relax ad take in the view of the city at the end of the day as well as the 2 Jacuzzi's there is also a great pool down stairs which i didn't get time to use. Breakfast was very nice with a good variety though it is more suited towards Chinese. The check in process and reception was great with helpful staff. The bed was very comfy and the little balcony was enough to us if you wanted to sit outside. If you are also looking for a tuk tuk driver feel free to message me for who i used as he was amazing in his service and knowledge.
If and when i go back to Phnom Penh I will defiantly look at staying here again

The hotel was in the perfect location, right next to the river and the market. The rooms were spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. The rooftop pool and bar looked over the river and city. We ate in at the rooftop bar and the prices were cheap and the food tasted lovely. Would come back here.

Late night arrival had us wondering a bit. Lots of bars and activity, dark lobby but guest room large and functional. If you get a room overlooking street with balcony it may be noisier but watching the teeming neighborhood activity is entertaining.
Restaurant/bar on 7th floor is great setting morning/evening and prices very affordable. Also hot tub/cold tub on roof.
A few glitches: early morning wake up call we didn't request, late night persistent maintenance worker knocking on door - we didn't request.
Pool area on ground level shoe-horned into small space but very nice.
Good location for walking to tourist sights.

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review of the Ohana Phnom Penh Palace Hotel, your feedback is very much appreciated and will help us further improve the services we offer. We are pleased to hear you were satisfied with your room and enjoyed the roof-top restaurant and plunge pools. Regarding the 'glitches', many thanks for raising them and I will certainly look into them. Receiving a wake-up call that you did not request was most probably an unfortunate human error. As for a maintenance worker 'knocking' on your door late at night, this sounds very strange, and I will certainly investigate to find the reason for it (a stay date and room number would be very useful to assist in the investigation). Again thank you for choosing to stay at the Ohana Phnom Penh Palace Hotel, and we wish you all the best for your onward travels.

Washington DC, District of Columbia9 contributions10 helpful votesWe stayed here as part of a tour and unfortunately this was the first hotel to begin our 15-day trip. We arrived just after sun-down and the staff greeted us and were very pleasant. However, when we got to the nice, newly-renovated room on the top floor, we couldn't help but notice a very strong sewer smell. We tried to settle in and determine where the smell was coming from. It was most definitely sewer off-gassing due to lack of a trap in the primary shower/bathroom drain. We ran the water hoping it would flush the drain, we closed the bathroom door to try to limit the travel of the smell throughout the room, we opened the windows (no screens though) sprayed perfume, etc. No luck.
I didn't want to offend the sweet hotel staff so rather than complain about the smell, I just asked if we could switch to a room that was not at the end of the hall (we were right next to the fire escape and they kept the door to the escape open...didn't make us feel all that safe actually). There were some communication barriers, but ultimately they said there were no other rooms, that they were fully booked. So back upstairs we went. After determining there was no way we could possibly sleep with the odor, I went back down to explain the smell. They said they'd have someone check on it for us, and to just go about our evening. It was getting late, so we just went upstairs to the bar for a drink. On the way up, we saw them in our room... it appeared they were just airing it out with the windows open and spraying air freshener *sigh*. After drinks, we tried the room again. They had not been able to eliminate the smell, just tried to mask it. So I told the front desk we still preferred a new room and we were willing to pay to switch, whatever it took. They were very hesitant but ended up offering us an older, non-renovated first floor room off of the pool. It smelled great but the room was a little rough and in much need of some TLC - nothing a could deep clean couldn't solve. I think they didn't offer us this room initially because, the next day, talking to our tour mates and guide, it appeared everyone had been placed on the higher floors together - that must be where the renovated rooms are all located.
The pool on the ground floor is very nice, and the rooftop hot tub and seating area with the view of Phnom Penh are the hotel's best features. Breakfast was okay (get some eggs, they were cooked perfectly), but the mosquitos are awfully pesky up on the roof.
Anyways, I hope the Ohana can overcome some of these challenges, but that end room on the 6th floor might need some plumbing work done before its woes can be solved. I still think the hotel has potential and can have a bright future.
