Bad start when reception was unable to give $14 change and wanted us to use our credit card (really pushed credit cards) to pay for the rooms. Between us we managed to give exact money, very odd for such a large hotel. The hotel is well maintained, we had three rooms with two on the 6th floor. Avoid room 619 as the noise from the terrace above (6 am setting up for breakfast, then a roaring sound later which we believe is the jacuzzi kicking in) means you won't need an alarm. Our daughter was around the corner and it was fine. The room was otherwise very comfortable. The rooftop sunsets, excellent breakfasts and pools were great, the ground floor swimming pool was also very nice but as usual the seating was inadequate - a common theme. Staff were very pleasant and attentive.

Dear PamCanuck251Preston, many thanks for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay at the Ohana Phnom Penh Palace Hotel, your feedback is very much appreciated. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time with us and found the Ohana to have a 'good location, excellent rooftop terrace and pools', as well as 'pleasant and attentive' staff. Regarding not being able to provide you $14 change, this was an unusual occurrence and we apologise for the inconvenience. The reason we were short of change during that time was due to it being Chinese New Year thus the local 'money changers' were closed and it was after the banks had closed also. Wishing you all the very best for your onward travels.

Colonial style hotel with large and clean room, good aircon, en suite bathroom including hot shower with good water pressure, outdoor pool, massage rooms, and free WIFI. downsides was street noise and hotel construction noise and disappointing breakfast buffet - please add labels to chaffing dishes and offer tea by the bag.

Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand33 contributions13 helpful votesWe spent 2 x 2 nights at the Ohana Hotel and found it to be clean and tidy with friendly staff. The Hotels location is very handy to a number of attractions and there are also a number of good resturants and bars close by. The pool looked great but some how we never got around to using it but it looked like plenty of other guest were using it. The Hotel is very close to the local food market which does have a smell of its own but it is something you must walk through and experience. The smell from the market was not noticable once you entered the Hotel so isn't an issue. Would stay here again if ever return to Phnom Penh.

This hotel is in a good location within walking distance of lots of good eating places, the Royal Palace and the river front. There are always tuk tuks available at the door. The swimming pool is very nice and refreshing after a long, hot day out and about. The rooms are quite big but probably a little in need of a makeover. Free internet in the foyer. The reception staff were very knowledgeable and helpful and overall this hotel is good value for money. On the down side, the breakfast is pretty terrible and when we enquired about the whereabouts of the post office to post some postcards the receptionist said they would attend to the posting but the postcards never arrived .......

Stayed 3 nights in this hotel and wish it was longer. They have great pools, delicious breakfast buffet and a great rooftop restaurant and bar.
Also you cant beat the 6th floor views of the Tonle Sap River and its confluence with the Mekong
