I may be nearing 50 and have my share of grey hairs, but I felt too young to be staying here. This is a class hotel for people who appreciate and, I guess, are willing to pay to be kept away from the riffraff.

Easy to find, ample parking, very smart reception, efficient staff. Took me a quick tour of the spa before escorting me to the room. The old principle's office, 211, was well appointed but the furniture is solid wood and reminded me of my grandparents' bedroom.

Nice bathroom, corner shower and ok bed bit too lie to the ground and soft mattress, two singles together, not a king.

Pool was enormous and empty, didn't try the sauna, gym or steam room.

Breakfast was great, good selection and service.

Location is ideal in Husum, close to shops and the harbour.

Fully recommend but be prepared to feel young if you're under 65.

After a long drive from Calais to Husum we checked in and were asked to sit down in the lobby and enjoy a drink so that we could recover! What a nice welcome!

The room we were brought to later was spacious with a balcony and very clean, the bed was firm and very comfortable and we had a wonderful sleep.

The swimming pool had some suprises like a "Wildwasser" facility and massage jets, powerful!
Some of the other elderly swimmers were suggesting not to switch them on, but we ignored it and had great fun!!

Breakfast was excellent!

The second evening we had a booking for the restaurant got a nice table and a meal we will not forget - superb !!

And we stayed another night and did not regret it.

The bar 'The Pauker Lounge' was a disappointment = should not be located in a conservatory.

But will we recommend the Altes Gymnasium to our friends? Yes, we will! And we will come back for another treat I am sure!!

This hotel is very Nice and charming. It is situated in an old school and has a big swimmingpool with a lot of fun features. The rooms are big, clean and nice! The breakfast is very luxurious - there is even champagne.
BUT the service is very poor... when we arrived and checked in we were given No information what so ever. Not about the wifi, the pool (you need the key, to bring your own titel and money for the bubble bath), or the breakfast. He didn't even tell us were our rooms was!!!
To get acces to the wifi we needed a username and password for every device we had and needed to log on at least once a day.
NB! The service at breakfast was (unlike the hotel) very good!!

Despite of the old look, the hotel is perfect for those who want to have a relaxing trip.
It also has a sauna(dry and wet) and pool area and also a fitness gym. The restaurant was ok.

The rooms at the bottom floor were quiet each time I went to this hotel.

The parking area is large and the hotel service is very professional.

A somewhat worn out place. Both the swimming pool area and the garden wing where we lived breathe the charm of the mid 1990s. Not all the reception personnel was up to the height of the necessary customer oriented standards.
