Lovely dining room overlooking beautiful gardens. Set in several Saxon houses, this hotel has many facilities, including jacuzzi in some rooms. The menu is mainly traditional Romanian food and the service was excellent. Children's play area is very popular.

Walking in, you are immediately transformed from city to quaint village-y atmosphere. Dinner was cooking in the open-air kitchen and firewood and delicious smells filled the grounds. Tables of people laughing and eating all together made you want to join right away. There is a big party room, covered and a large pool. The grounds were extraordinary-flowers everywhere and well maintained and loved. The room was spacious, although hot, with no AC. The drapes on our east facing room allowed every bit of sun to enter, so was a little rough with the early morning roosters--although so very charming. By the last mornings is was rough. The food and service were wonderful, but the way the chairs at the pool are considered has something to be desired, as they allow non-guests entrance for pool use. Some take chairs by the pool (claiming them with no belongings in sight) and go sit in the yard having beers, which the staff seems to be ok with. You have to roll with these service issues in RO. Bielmann was higher among the service rankings in our opinion, but this order could be considered for improvement. Also, they charged us for pool use, not realizing we were hotel guests, even after I told them. It was irritating, but was cleared up. Our checkout changed and my online change had not gone through and the owner was wonderful about it. We would return here for another trip for sure for the location, the food and the atmosphere of Sanpetru. A wonderful place for families and groups. Many bus groups stopped for dinner while we were there. Another thing they MUST improve is opening the patio doors after we leave for the day. We were very upset that the room was left wide open and easy to enter from neighboring balcony to pool area. Very unusual as a traveler for this to happen, but may be just typical. Foreign travelers must feel that their belongings are safe though. We do look forward to a return trip.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 24, as it is adjacent to a bunch of roosters and too sunny in the am!

The Hotel Bielmann is situated a few kilometers outside of the bustling mountain mecca of Brasov in the small village of Sanpetru. If you arrive after dark, you may easily miss this gem on the dark streets of this residential neighborhood.

As repeat customers, its clear that this hotel is lovingly maintained by its owner, Ms. Viorica Bielmann. Staff who remember you from prior visits, know your seating preference in the dining room and tend to your needs are among the benefits of spending more than just a few nights in the Bielmann.

Others have described the rustic qualities of the Bielmann and the facilities available. I will just contribute these two additional points: 1) Many of the rooms are HUGE. You will have plenty of space to settle in and get comfortable. 2) The courtyard is teeming with cats and even a few dogs... all friendly and domesticated... the kids will be entertained for hours. Next door, there are goats/sheep and chickens to lend to the rustic feel of the place... yes, roosters will wake you at dawn.

I always look forward to our return to the Hotel Bielmann.

Every time I have business near Brasov I stay at Hotel Bielmann. It's a 3 star hotel but to be honest I would give it at least 4 stars, if not 5 stars. This is my fourth visit and I keep discovering new things about this hotel. Although from the street you wouldn't say too much about it, it's surprising the moment you enter. They have a very nice pub, good restaurant, INCREDIBLY beautiful flower garden and everywhere you look you see time and effort being put into decorations. It's probably the first hotel that I've been in that truly feels like home! And the 2-3 cats seem to just looooove people's attention.
Rooms I've been in are large are they have everything you need. Just make sure to ask for a room with air conditioning if it's summer!
The swimming pool is beautiful and kids just love it. Too bad they don't have an indoor swimming pool as well.
If you are looking for peace and quiet and a really nice hotel, choose this one. Although it's outside Brasov, you can get there by car in no more than a few minutes.

We just came back from a tour in Romania. We've been in 5 hotels (3 and 4 stars) in various regions. Hotel Bielmann was the highlight of our stay, we stayed there for 3 nights, room 21. Nice, big and rustic room with a big fireplace and a balcony with view of the hill. Although it was very hot outside, in the room the temperature was fine (airco would still be better). The pool was great, we and the kids enjoyed it at the end of the day when coming back from day trips. The garden full with flowers, 9 cats and 2 dogs, nice playing ground for the kids with a big trampoline, our children were always busy, it was for the first time in a long period that we could dine in peace without stress. Having breakfast and dinner in the garden was great, food was very good and staff also friendly. We had to get used to order breakfast instead of having a buffet breakfast but being with more people we manage to order a variety of food. The table tennis and billiard in the cellar are also quite nice.
Note that as we were in a weekend, every evening there was a party (wedding, school reunion,..) however they did not disturb too much.

We are considering going back again next year.
