Stayed Thursday to Thursday 28th-3rd august
Booked one year in advance for our anniversary Friday morning breakfast eggs Benedict, eggs overcooked Saturday fried eggs rock hard Sunday scrambled, bacon rock hard, room not cleaned twice that week, bathroom bin not emptied at all so ladies sanitary goods we had to dispose of ourselves, milk in room fridge off one day when took down owner joked thought you wanted sour cream haha.not even slightly funny.our anniversary we preordered lobster and Prosecco meal and champagne in room to celebrate. No champagne near our room until went downstairs for meal which was to late.sat in there courtyard most evenings for a quiet pint and vape waiting for wife to get ready until king of all rats ran through kitchen bin area towards me and that was enough to make sure I never went there again, not one to complain normally but compared to last year when we stayed there during end of Covid this was a disaster on an epic scale, but in truth it looks like hotel owners have left running of hotel to a manager who wasn’t interested but saying that the young waiter and two bar/restaurant female staff were amazing and that’s close to the only positive

Great room, great location and amazing host! From walking in to check in, we felt welcome and homely. The manager (we presume) was so friendly and welcoming. The room was a genuine wow moment walking in. We had the signature room booked, lovely comfortable big bed. The room was a bit warm, but this is understandable as the building is very old and the weather was warm. Nevertheless we slept very well. A fan was provided (slight issue was this was very dusty).
Breakfast the following morning was amazing, like amazing! The ingredients was top quality and the coffee was particularly great.
We had a great time and we’ll definitely be back - keep stalking our Instagram!
A couple of cleaning issues were listened to and rectified for future guests. Overall, fantastic!

We stayed for a night whilst visiting Stratford for gin tasting. Fantastic stay and would definitely recommend!

We stayed in room 12 which was lovely, very clean, super comfy bed, bathroom gorgeous- huge shower and roll top bath. Selection of complimentary teas in room very good, the only thing missing were biscuits! Breakfast was very enjoyable!

All in all a truly lovely stay, thank you!

Where to start! We hired the library room for our wedding reception this weekend. As soon as we met Dan the manager we knew the townhouse would be the pace for our special day! Dan goes above and beyond at ALL times! He helped us to plan our day, sharing his expert advise and previous experiences. Nothing at all was too much, whatever we wanted Dan arranged. I even came into the townhouse feeling very nervous and anxious the evening before the wedding, Dan was like a friend and gave me some last minute words of wisdom, a strong drink and some good laughs, so thank you for that. The tables looked me beautiful. Food was brilliant, the chef agreed to prepare something not on the menu for all of our guests. Not a single thing was incorrect when all the food came out. Dan and the team were so attentive in the evening, they made sure everything ran smooth and we had the BEST time. I honestly don’t think our wedding would have been what it was without the townhouse! I just can’t thank the team enough….from Mr and Mrs B x

I like this place a lot and always stay here when I’m in Stratford for work with the RSC if I can get a good rate. Staff are lovely, rooms are comfy, spacious and spotlessly clean. This time, though, I was slightly perturbed by the rodent-repelling device plugged into the socket in my room. I noticed it when I turned out the light to go to bed, because it had a flashing blue light that I couldn’t sleep through, and I was mildly horrified when I realised what it was. I’m sure (or at least I hope!?!) it’s just a precautionary measure, but it hardly inspires confidence, and I spent the whole night imaging every creak and rustle heralded a visit from a scurrying mouse or (yikes!) rat. So please, Townhouse management - if you have a pest problem, deal with it properly!!!

Yes - there are hairdryers and hair straighteners in each room at the Church Street Townhouse. Our check in time is usually 3pm and check out by 11am, but, if the room is available, we may be able to arrange early checkin or late check out. Of course, you are always welcome to drop off bags early or leave them to collect them later. If you have specific times in mind, why not drop us an email us directly or ring on 01789 262222?
