We arrived for a two day break at the start of the Coronavirus travel restrictions. The staff were very accommodating to our last minute change of numbers.
The hotel is in a central location, v convenient for accessing most tourist spots, bars and restaurants. Although there is no on-site parking, it is available at a nearby NCP car park for a reduced rate.
Our room was beautifully decorated and v comfortable. Great tea and coffee making facilities.
The breakfast choice was excellent, as were the breakfasts themselves. Would definitely return here.
Quaint and quirky but a little bit disappointed with the room 2 Singles pushed together but sold as a double, view from window not pleasant, broken chairs left outside, rusty chrome in bathroom, marks on walls and carpet, top of tap missing, bedside lamps not working, some positives single beds comfortable lovely decorated, great location, great tea and coffee facilities good price for high price hotels in area.
Had a pleasant one night stay here in a luxury room. Loved the Temple Spa products and fridge with fresh milk , a nice touch. Parking 5 minutes away for about £8.50 a night, make sure you go to NCP and ask hotel reception for the override ticket. Slightly disorganised at breakfast as the lady was trying to do breakfast service and check people out simultaneously? Not sure where the other staff were? Wasn’t terribly impressed with breakfast buffet and filter coffee left out on a warming ring, but the hot food was nice and tasty.
Just an absolute jem... we love it here and have returned again and again.
The rooms are perfect.. try room 12 but we have stayed in a number and sleep comes easily.
Breakfast is tasty, freshly cooked and plenty of options.
If you want a boutique fabulous hotel - this is the one.
The Townhouse was a great place to stay for access to both the historic town and the theatre. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and full of character. The staff were incredibly friendly. The food was very good, especially the hearty breakfast.
