Liamo has the best location with amentities that suit every traveller. Thank you Liamo for the experience I will always talk about and to remember for the three days I stayed there. Food was great, room service excellent and customer service too good!
Liamo Reef Resort had been my home for 10 days in Kimbe, West New Britain, Papua New Guinea. Our company booked the basic room. It has a study table, a comfortable bed, a big television, ceiling fan, aircon, water kettle, and some tea assortments. You will have to call the Reception, if you want to borrow the iron.
Liamo Reef Resort is situated in Kimbe. The property is full of tress, plants and blooms. You’ll feel like you are in a nature retreat center. The only setback for the accommodation is that flies, mosquitoes, and other insects are everywhere. This can be attributed to the nature setup. So not blaming the hotel.
Though the gym has basic equipment, I guarantee you that it’s clean and well maintained. If you want to watch the sunset (provided that it’s not raining), the resort has sun lounge chairs available at the beachfront. Housekeeping women are all smiles in the morning. The Reception team is wonderful! Thank you for the very comfortable stay. I would like to shout out to the lovely owners and Ms. Miriam. Indeed a home away from home :)
When I know i was traveling to Kimbe, i was worried about where is was going to stay. There are a few hotels, location and safety was my priority. Liamo caught my attention and thought i would give it ago. I stayed in a Deluxe Room for about 5 nights and i was impressed.
Even though the property is aged, the service makes up for it. Everyone is very attentive and full of smiles. Food is amazing! They serve both Chinese and Western and there was never a night that i was disappointed. The beach is at your doorstep and they have kayaks and paddle boards available at no extra cost for guests. Gym was big and spacious. They have a Spa, but i didn't have the chance to go. Pool was small but good. Special thanks to Miriam and Sugu for always being there to assist me. Thank you Liamo and will definitely see you again.
Liamo Resort has a lovely setting with a nice restaurant and bar area but it lets itself down so badly with very average rooms and quite poor levels of customer service. For K660 or the equivalent of almost US$200 you get a very tired and dated room that desperately needs upgrading. The bungalow I was in had a piece of unpainted plywood over the door, a poor attempt had been made to refresh the shower recess with a poor paint job and most off putting was the fact that the bedding was terribly old and smelly. The bed sheets were worn and had a soft yellow hue. Seriously, these rooms are screaming for an upgrade. The meals I had were nice and servings were generous but the service in the restaurant is haphazard. It seems that there is no one in charge. Had to get up and go and ask for a menu, had to get up and ask for a drink.
The hotel is really well located with a lot of open spaces, nices bars and beach.
Unfortunately, service is friendly but not competent. Tables and seats on the beach were all dirty with bottles, cans and glasses everywhere, nobody thinked to clean that up so we need to go inside.
Room was small and not really comfortable, really old. Some parts of the shower fall apart when we used it. Too much expensive for what it is.
Restaurant is quite OK but again service was not good and price are expensive (maybe like everywhere is PNG for that quality).
There was a private reception at the same moment so we clients were all put at the back, in a not friendly environment. Waitress were more busy with other clients than hotel clients.
Still, the place is nice and worths it, but service needs improvement as well as some rooms
